I'm a Gen X, and I grew up with old Rock, but in my early 20's I discovered Em, back when his shit was Goofy and he was always dissing celebrities, and being banned from performing in Canada (where I live) and he turned me onto Hip Hop...truthfully, in elementary school, I did listen to some hip hop but then got steered towards Rock..but Em made me laugh.... I love almost every song I have heard of his, and I have such an appreciation for this genre of misic, now. Hip Hop is the shit, and I can understand why the black community would want to protect, it. Most of the music we hear today, in almost all Genres, was influenced by the early blues and Rock which was created by the black community and I will be forever thankful, because without it we would all be sitting around listening to polka misic or something..
