Great job 👍🏻👍🏻 Glad to see everyone happy and satisfied with their decisions and primarily enjoying this profession. I’m very much eager to start my life as an intern here in India. ❤️❤️❤️
@@SarahNicholls im actually starting on psychiatry and ive got some medicine on calls as well. Ive heard psychiatry is quite relaxed to start on, not sure how true it is.
@ahmadsauyack2770 I started on psych too! I made some videos on it back in the day if you are brave enough to dig that far back into my back catalogue 😂 wishing you all the best 👍
Thanks for this vlog - it's so reassuring and helpful!! In terms of managing acute patients, is it like med school simulations where everything is literally at hand and a nurse/HCA (and I absolutely hate using this term to describe them) are a runner/assisting with you? Or is it literally like you having to sort out their bloods, cannulas, abg - and I'm assuming that you're not going to be ordering a CXR at 2am in the morning if you suspect acute lung pathology? And if you were, you'd discuss it with a reg first? I think I'd struggle on knowing when to escalate at the right time lol
It really depends on the situation. Sometimes there are lots of staff, sometimes not. You have to be confident and ask for help when you need it! You can always call the crash team when things get scary.
I will be starting my first year of work of being a doctor and this vlog has been so helpful. Quick question how do You find time to study with such a crazy schedule??
hi I have a very serious question. if someone had completed his obgyn residency in his home country and now plans to move to UK. After plab and working in UK can he give Mrcog exams? if yes then when? and if he passed his all Mrcog exams then would he be upgraded as a consultant or he is bound to follow the regular path?
Still need to follow the training pathway. The MRCOG exams are a requirement as part of a plethora of things on the On/Gyn training programme. The UK only recognises EU training for equivalency. Other training is not recognised. I doubt EU training will be recognised after Brexit.
Good job ! I've a question which is kinda funny one : Don't you guys ever wear white coats ( white lab coats ) in the UK ? just scarb suits even in medical wards ??
Fatima Kaboub I was told by our consultant that we used to have to but we’re not renowned for keeping them the cleanest n therefore we don’t bother anymore x
Hey! Sorry for my slow reply. No we don’t wear them in the UK any more because there’s a policy of being bare below the elbow for hygiene purposes, so we wear our own smart clothes or hospital scrubs!
Hi, i'm from India and i'm studying MBBS in China, to apply for GMC full registration through PLAB Route, Do i need to complete internship in my home country (Post-Graduation Internship) or Is Internship in China enough (Pre-graduation Internship for 16 months in China With no gaps between graduation and internship includes 3 months for Surgery and 3 months for Medicine ) ? Is that necessary to do Internship in our home country? or is it enough to do Internship in the place we complete our MBBS ?
Doctors often have Big egoes and no communication skills very narrow minded. They need to communicate better with patients. Ask patients Questions about concerns and if not in your specialism give right advice.
Great to hear genuine, from the heart advice and not emotionless comments like "try your best" or never give up"

Does “Primary Medical Qualification” means ‘Alevels’?
A PMQ is referring to either a MBChB or BMBS degree which is a 5/6 year university degree depending on where you apply.
@@theomarch6346 great, so basically PMQ means the ‘medical degree’?

You do in certain hospitals like guys and St Thomas because they provide white coats which are bare below the elbow 😉

Not me thinking this was something to do with formula one 😂
Most doctors shut the door on updating their knowledge base and treatments prefering to coast along....very bad.

Not everyone is like that
