Listened every week in the 70s. Surprised how I can still recall some of these as I listen several evenings every week now, enjoying a glass of wine and a mellow pipe under the Florida stars.
Himan played Lieutenant Hentch in the 2nd act. He has a bit part in almost every episode. Sometimes as little as one line 😂 but his voice is very recognizable even when doing an accent.
I put on a story to fall asleep to. Fat chance with this! Talk about gripping! The first half nearly had me throwing a shoe at my monitor I was so annoyed with these three characters, then just with Mona! Great acting. Thanks! Now I'm going back to sleep. And Mona better not call me!
Another great episode of the mystery theater. Happy that the last few episodes have been very clear and high-quality recordings. Did anyone else notice that we heard a touchtone phone on this episode not the old dial phone. First time I can remember on a radio show hearing a touchdown . Listen July 3, 2020 Fresno California
Thanks for the plot summaries! This is why I listen to your stories! Other channels don’t have that! I only like the ones I’m interested in. I hate listening to one, and then realizing I’m not interested, then I must find something else! Waste of time! Thanks!
Thankyou so very much for putting these up. I fall asleep every night always with these wonderful stories! So happy the good old days have been preserved for us all. Thankyou! Can't go to sleep, without, them. In the morning, before I get out of bed, if I didn't get to hear the ending, I make sure I listen to it. I don't even know how I slept with out them before I knew how wonderful, these were. Thankyou so,very much again!
Exactly my thoughts. Kitty was driven just as crazy as Mona - crazy from the gaslighting. He could’ve saved Mona easily. If Mona couldn’t push the door open, neither could she. No matter whether or not Kitty wanted Mona to miss the plane, she certainly didn’t push her out that window. Kitty didn’t even put that in Mona’s head like he accused her - Mona was already talking about the windows. It was smart of Kitty to pick up on that quickly to foresee a danger there and warn her away. Kitty didn’t start accusing him of an affair out of nowhere. Mona said she had the affair and a lot of horrible things that might’ve caused anyone else to leave her there alone. Kitty was very kind and calming with Mona. If there was any way to open the door, they would have - Kitty didn’t lie about breaking a chair against it. Mona couldn’t open it, clearly. Maybe Gary should have considered that she loosened it up after trying so hard - but he was stronger than both of them. He said himself he was a huge football player. He didn’t even know his own strength. To defend her then to blame her was low. Gary and Mona were both cheating, lying and gaslighting. They stole that part from Kitty, too. The award should have been hers to begin with. Mona didn’t fit the description. If you look at this differently, Gary might’ve been the murderer. He was gaslighting Kitty the entire time. He knew that door stuck and that Mona was claustrophobic. He refused to go out in the snow and encouraged her to. He found the change in her purse and he knew exactly where the lost keys were. He had been gaslighting her that entire time about having an affair with Mona - and Mona admitted to it. Everything he suggested that she did or didn’t do to help Mona - were HIS ideas to twist her motives. He claimed Kitty wasn’t knocking on the doors for help but, she remembers doing it. Imo he’s completely gaslighting her. He got jealous of Mona’s success and tired of her as a jealous lover. Maybe he didn’t want to be married and he wanted out of the triangle mess. Maybe he thought Mona wasn’t giving him enough credit for her success. He wanted to kill two birds with one stone and come out clean. Just like a narcissist. He knew that door stuck and he made sure it would. He was there the night before according to him in the beginning. He might’ve locked Mona in when she was going to bed and she didn’t even notice until she got up. The phone was supposed to be disconnected and he knew it. He might not have expected her to have any chance to call before it was disconnected and everyone would have thought she was out of town. No one could hear her scream for help. He pretended to be an answering machine knowing it might be Mona’s last call, yet accused Kitty of not caring enough about Mona being stuck. TL;DR Gary is the real killer. He has been gaslighting Kitty the entire time.
Honestly I don't think I can take an act 2 let alone a, act 3 of Mona !!!! SHE'S more whiney than that darn poodle of hers. I can't tell you how glad I am I'm not Gary or any other man in this story, because the hair that I have left would be pulled out from my own hands or will is this become a murder story ? if so I know who the victims going to be !
Gary's a butt, he has hurt Kitty, used Mona, and played both women against each other as he watch the whole time! He just loved the attention! What a jerk! Now he will go find a new younger patsy. Watch out for these type!!!!😬😱😵
8/13/2023 Quite the story and all those 1970s commercials from my early adulthood. Amusing to hear the couple awaken so early in the morning, oh the horrors, at 6 AM, that was funny! Any phobia that real for someone is awful, poor gal! One foot of snow and NYC is shut down at 6 and 7 AM, really? I thought it was the city that never slept On to the story! At first everything seems innocent, then wondering if the movie star is going to make it to England for her award, then fearing for her safety with “walls closing in”, then fearing for her life. Something seemed off about the wife, Kitty or Kit, and near the end Kit tells the Star, don’t open the window! Yes, something off about the wife. Who turns off their phone for a week? Then she’s wearing red down in the courtyard’s foot of snow, dead. But then we learn hubby Gary has some questions! Ultimately she killer her friend through the power of suggestion and dragging her feet to help the woman! Heart wrenching for the husband to realize his wife killed her friend, can’t prove it but the public outcry from trial details being released would bury his wife soon to be ex-wife! Divorce so soon after the friend’s death would certainly stoke public speculation! Some even saying nasty things about Kitty, who will feel publicly humiliated and guilty. Her mind will tear itself apart.
That was a surprising end !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ? But you have to listen to find out what that end was ? so happy ------- listening ! See you in the next, hopefully psychotic bloody murder mystery !!!!! How many people out there that's is a murderer ? That really makes a lot of people think huh ?
I get the impression that Mona has some sort of nervous disorder. But then again.....when you have claustrophobic tendencies, u can come undone quite easily when you're in a small, tight space. I become that way when I'm in a space & I don't have unuff room 2 move my arms. For me.....THAT can be quite unsettling.
If they push and she pulls it means she can knock out the hinges, get a tool! Improvise. Letter opener in the lock, etc. Or fuck it, go through the wall.
CBSRMT is my bedtime story(ies) every night. The commercials are an extra treat! Thank you Chilly!
MY Too, when I live in Michigan.
Great, LOVE CBSRMT. Listened faithfully in the 70s when I was in the Marine Corps. Sgt USMC 1973-1977
Roxie Gentle Pitt Bull So cool! I was in the Corp from 74-78 and left a Sgt also!
I'm a Gunnery Sergeant, U.S. Army, Retired. Active `80 -`92.
ChillySunshine, I appreciate you adding the synopsis and the dates the stories were aired. Thanks!

You COULD NOT recreate this today. There aren't any actors out there of this caliber anymore. Period.
There is also NO one like the Producer Human Brown. He earned his stripes during the radio programs hay day back in the 30's-50's.
Himan played Lieutenant Hentch in the 2nd act. He has a bit part in almost every episode. Sometimes as little as one line 😂 but his voice is very recognizable even when doing an accent.

@@notit340 I honestly don't know . Sleep deprivation must be effecting me worse than I thought . Have a nice day
@@DSpeir-pi6tm you too! Get some sleep.
Funnnnnnnnny!!!!!!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for leaving the commercials in! I listened to WBBM as a kid.
So did I :-)

Gary should’ve taken a leap w/ Mona.🌟

Gary and Mona deserve each other.

Glad you've rediscovered them Kurt.
I just discovered your channel... and I'm hooked! :)
Basically Mona just panicked x
I miss Walter Cronkite.

Mona the drama queen, what a maroon 😂
She was crazy. Made me cringe.

The end was ridiculous. Otherwise good story.
Himan Brown like Hitchcock always appears in a bit part lol😂.
College student Sophmore Lincoln park 1979 the University of Chicago....Thank You.
Poor Mona. Still she jumped, that's not murder. Drink 🍸up, Kitty
If they push and she pulls it means she can knock out the hinges, get a tool! Improvise. Letter opener in the lock, etc. Or fuck it, go through the wall.
Or how about fire department lol
Are all new Yorkers as whiny as these 3?
not feeling that sorry for Mona.
Look on the bright side it isnt a ligr xx
❤️
Surprisingly good script and performances from this entertaining but inconsistent series. For once E G Marshall is redundant...🤔
