Upgraded my home theater with the HU710PW April 2024 (from an Optoma HD25LV ) and was NOT impressed UNTIL I upgraded my Comcast/Xfinity DVR and cable boxes to units that actually output in 4K and WOW I love it. HOWEVER, the projector was connected to home WIFI and said it was up to date but had problem with new equipment and HDCP protocol. Projector said it was on software version 01.00.16 and "up to date". Had to download the version 03.01.02 from the LG website and install via USB memory stick and then it worked. Follow the instructions and you'll be good to go.
Looks good to me. A huge screen would look cool. Vivid mode looks great for image pop.. game mode look great too.

What's the difference between the P and PW versions of this projector?
Hey Joelster, thank for the review, I have LG HU70LA and it has the worst black levels so it can't be paired with a white screen as it will expose it weaknesses. Can the HU710P can be paired with white screen in light controlled room? How are the black levels on a white screen? and would it be better to use grey screen? The contrast is very good for a dlp 0.47 DMD so on paper a white screen can be used without issues.
Hi Joelsters. Do you adjust the ISO on your camera to make the blacks appear darker? Asking because the TK850 has crappy blacks but they look good in your videos. Or is your ALR a miracle worker?

2000 ansi lumens = 4200 lumens.
Great review Joel but I just picked up the C1 this past Friday so I am all good for the forseeable future. But after OLED projectors are in my future.

I have the hu810pb and it has some unbearable laser speckle. Does this projector suffer from the same thing?
What type of screen are you using?
Hey there, I have this projector and I'm getting a lightened border around the actual image that is also being projected which means I can't get a thin border fixed screen, it's about an inch thick maybe slightly more. Any idea's on how to get rid of this border the projector seems to give? you don't seem to have it on your video, maybe it's a setting when setting up from new?
Put some black felt around your screen, and zoom the light border onto that, otherwise get another screen with a wider border

They are both very good, this is definitely brighter and better colors and blk levels but it is larger and heavier.

Thanks, both have very similar picture, the HU810P is probably a bit brighter but the HU710P has slightly better blacks.
@@JoelsterG4k thank Joel, i will go for the new one, it's cheaper, has better black as you said, new WebOS, and lighter. i heared hu 810 has laser sparkle, i hope 710 doesn't have it
MY HU710 had two defects (blue coloured area at the bottom and defect pixel shift after some hours),
despite that I had the feeling that you need to adjust the colour settings more often than before. Sometimes too much colour sometines too less... with the LU810 it was possible more or less to use cinema or film maker mode all the time.
A bit of a disappointment is the ANSI contrast (in-picture contrast. e.g. a black background with some white text or sun in the same picture). In that regard my old Benq W1110 has better black (but I miss the colours). Brightness could be better, especially when you compare to the 810. The 810 very interesting except the laser sparkling.
(comment on black levels: I will get the JVC N5, but even that "black level beast" has "only"

I want something with a great picture and that can still look great in a bright room with windows around. I was hoping to purchase a 120” screen. What is the best laser projector out right now and what would you recommend.?
Hey whats up Danny, this LG projector is one of the best right now, as you can see in the video the picture looks amazing, now if you want an UST 4k laser projector, the Hisense PX1 tri-laser projector is probably the best, I just got it in the office and it looks insane, it also supports 4k/120hz for gaming with low inputlag, I am currently playing Warzone rn.

@Danny Murro For that screen the Hisense PX1 would be the better choice, the tri-laser make a big difference, colors look fantastic. I am working on my video.

Hola, si al parecer los modelos de 55" y arriba tendran el panel EVO que aumenta el brillo un 30%, pero me esperare a comprarla y compararla con mi C1 para ver si es cierto.

Both look the same, go for the one that is cheaper, you won't be disappointed.

I tested hu710 for one month. I thought it would be better than my benq w5700. In the end I ask for a refund and keep my benq. The LG is well marketed has smart capabilities long lasting led laser, so called hdmi 2.1 But how do you want customers to deal with crazy colors with no pro calibration ?
French reviewer mondoprojos has calibrated it somehow
Get it calibrated by an ACTUAL pro, the Benq calibration is only a starting point
