Thanks for making this. About to sign up for the triple crown. Never done BWR rides before due to work is crazy at that time of the year with bike race photowork. Done that distance and gravel/mixed surface events in the past. CX bike that can wider tires. Front 42-45 guessing. Rear only takes a 40 deepening on tread. So stuck tire width.
You’ll still do alright with that! I ran 35’s for cali, 40’s for utah and 45’s for az! Might go bigger for utah and possibly 38 for calli though! Be sure to use my code goettl10 for discount signing up for the triple!
Enjoyed the live action video action with jitters and jars, real world stuff! Wish the GoPro would have lasted through McDowell Park (my local rides). Maybe take a "GoPro hand-up" :) . I volunteered, but the lead back had passed by my shift. Congrats on the finish. See ya in March :) .
I'd love to know what you are riding;... how about a 3 by 5 card with the deets up front in the video... what size tires, what rubber you buyin? what crank size and so forth...
Thank you for the video. Was also wondering your breakdown, what you would do different, what worked and what didn't? Also you have convinced me to steer clear of the new Canyon Grail because of its limited 42mm tire clearance. I"m sure 45mm tires helped when you first hit that sloshy gravel.
Thanks for watching! The main think I’m going to change is a bigger front chain ring (I was on a borrowed bike and only had a 40t up front which was not big enough for the paved sections!) Nutrition I will do skratch super-fuel which I started using half way through last year and really like! I will stick with my same 45mm pirelli gravel h tires! But I might advice somthing with a little more traction if your not used to riding on single track. For sure I’d get a bike that can do at least 45’s. Not sure if you watch Dylan Johnson’s videos, but it seems that wider is faster most of the time, plus more comfortable and better flat protection!
Thank you! I’m riding the trek checkpoint here with pirelli 45c gravel h tires, and the sram xx1 axs/ force mullet setup. I only had a 40t front chain ring on here but will go with at 48t next year! (I had to borrow this bike as my normal race bike was broken)
What's in your secret little bottle that you pull out once in a while? I use Skratch Super Fuel, as well. Can't stand scooping 7 times so I just use 3/4 cup and scoop once. 🙂
It’s actually just pure maple syrup! I use it a lot for winter training, but not quite as much in the summer when it gets hot out. Nice tip for the skratch! I didn’t start using skratch till the second half of my season, but it’s been my go to since and if I have my wife handing me bottles, then I only need 1gel/bar per hour to go with! (Or swig of maple syrup) 🍁 😊
@@jgoettl2.0 I was just about to ask about hypersmooth because it looks a little too bumpy for me. Otherwise great footage and highly appreciate the upload!
This is great storytelling. No need for an audio track, your breathing and the sound of the tires on the trail with the data overlay tells the story. Hypersmooth would have taken away from the punishment this course dealt. Nice work!
It’s a process for these raw edits. I mainly use Final Cut Pro, but I have to send each clip through Garmin virb edit to match the data and get the overlays, then send it back to final cut to put it back together and add text and mile markers
Thanks for posting these RAW videos, perfect content to watch on the indoor trainer!
@@BLAZEX09 thanks for watching, I’ll be uploading the 2024 editions starting in a few weeks!
Great upload! Much appreciated! Helped my indoor sesh immensely. 👌
Been watching this and sharing to friends over and over and over!
How many more riders are going to do BWR because of your vids, probably a lot, thank you for showing us what BWR is like 💯
I'm watching on the trainer and couldn't help not turning my bars to avoid some of those hot corners! Thanks for the recon video.
Good job!👍🏼

Thanks, glad you enjoyed! I carry spare batteries in my top tube bag now so I capture a bit more!
Hoping to get selfie with Joe this Saturday!
Just come say hi if you see me around after the race!
Thank you

Mister, great job. What brand bicycle do you use? the videos are excellences but that complement is phenomenal

Awesome job!! Video is super inspiring!! What software did you use for your data?? Looks great!! Well done!
It’s a bit of a process but I use garmin virb to get the data on and then Final Cut Pro to put all the clips together
thank you for putting this together! bigger tires and suspension next time possibly
Bro try to carry a rear camera to see what's happening behind your
Excellent videos
Can capture the sponsor on the jersey in that shot too, good angle

Love pure maple syrup!! Keep getting after it out there. Love the videos, too!@@jgoettl2.0
what camera are you using?
Go pro 12 with chest mount! There’s a link to my Amazon page in the description with the exact camera and mount I use!
I was actually using the 11 here without hypersmooth boost on. I use the 12 with auto boost now and it’s much smoother!
Thank you for the information, Greetings from Indonesia@@jgoettl2.0

@@peterzsohar3297 if you check out the raw files California video, that is the 11 with hypersmooth on! Looks way better!
Looks like racing inside fallout game.
to get more riders do some video about how to get tires that won't flat all the time.... I almost quit the first month....
🤠🤙
How far this route?
Tnx
121 miles!

What do you use to edit and do the overlays? I have a Garmin Virb Ultra 30 but the Garmin editing software is so obsolete

@@jgoettl2.0 thanks. Virb edit hasn't been updated since 2018. Great videos. Play them on the screen right above the Zwift screen.
@@patricksendera6965 yeah it’s a bit outdated but gets the job done and was free.
That’s the best way to enjoy the videos!
