What's with India demanding ToT from other countries that we buy weapons from, and we offering ToT to other countries looking to procure Indian weapons? We're just obsessed with ToT. Why should we offer ToT to countries to buy our weapons when we worked so hard to develop these weapons? Either they buy our weapons as is with no ToT, or we'll just use our weapons for ourselves alone. The cheaper price of our weapons while still being very effective is a good enough incentive.
Not really. In such deals you always look for lifetime deal value per customer. ToT does not mean you hand over every blueprint. ToT is usually limited in scope. It does not mean every metallurgical, electrical design etc. detail. So if there is no strategic risk, and if the deal size is big enough, you do consider ToT as one of the options of the deal. That's why, once upon a time, France offered to move the entire manufacturing line of the Mirage 2000s to India, because they were anyway going to end the production line and they would rather have some value extraction than none at all. At that time India declined it, which was a strategic blunder on India's part.
Bramohs, especially air launched should not be given to Malaysia, it is very likely that it may go to China's hand. China is finding airlaunch Bramohs is superior threat. One should read the book Chimera from Vivek Ahuja.
F404 engine delay multiple times Apache delivery delay multiple times Meanwhile USA: india must stop all business with russia or get sanctions(USA has already sanctions on multiple indian company since 2023)🤦♂️
Financial Times and others are indicating India Tejas doesn’t have the cash flow given the block obsolescence, changing battlefield and manpower intensive army and paying for these new weapon systems is increasing unaffordable. Israel is way behind on the radar and counter measures…. Looks to me India has cash issues and poor engineering planning to add to the Program
I like this Rafale Sarfran option for AMCA engine. With US delaying things, it seems disinterested in our security and many times disinterested indirectly in its own security against China.
MDL will deliver 6 Frigates to Brazilian Navy in 12-15 years,so they would be rejected as to transfer technology they would take 6-7 years. Last time also we lost to MEKO300 designs
Pakistan is about to get J 31 in which pilot training has set in . We are merely crying out they are on the verge of insolvency. They will have 100 J 31 & another 100 Turkish 5th gen fighters but even after that we will be bragged Rafale is here, even going one step ahead we can say our Mig 21 Bison is enough. We will be watching everything even having $600 bil Forex reserve. We could only say J 31 is not 100 % stealth fighter , it's our consolation. India is getting far from P75i, let's see if India has another card up its sleeve. Hence, India is playing its cards close to its chest .
Yes brazil wants tot for brahmos. Then they'll change its name and export.ask for the tot of Embraer aero engines and technical know how of commercial planes.
The Snecma M88 is a quite compact engine and so is the Rafale engine bay. Will this suit what we need out of a 130kn engine? If it does fit, that would make an interesting future retrofit for the Rafale with far more thrust and electrical power.
@Flying-Bullets All this underscores the blunder of the IAF in selecting a single engine as opposed to twin engine aircraft for India's first domestically designed fighter. A lower thrust engine like the Kaveri could have been incorporated into a twin engine Tejas design and still functioned while a higher thrust / efficiency single engine Kaveri was developed. Instead the cart went before the horse 🐴 with the need for a world class high thrust, compact engine needed right off the bat for the single engine Tejas. This decision costed the county tens of billions.
@@gokulkalloorby that logic china is our biggest trading partner😃 USA gives sanctions and all trade will then make zero sense. Our major import partners which gives raw material for india to export are China russia and UAE😄
@Flying-Bullets Not a good idea to antagonize the US. US is the gatekeeper for all high tech items that India needs to power its economic growth for the next 25 years. Cut that and India's growth prospects look dim. Russia is a supplier of many natural resources, especially strategic resources, to India independent of foreign control. Both countries are high value trade partners for India, so it's a tough balancing act with the balance greatly skewed to US demands currently.
There is a major technology India should update for its fighter jet fleet it can be su-30, mig, Tejas , rafale , by one most advance tech adding combat will be very easy🇮🇳❤️
Clever move by France to suggest use of Rafale as a testbed for Kaveri engine. It makes the Rafale one of the few (only) fighters in the world with the ability to source major systems (engines) from multiple countries. A huge benefit to other countries thinking of buying the Rafale fighter. But what India needs is a large aircraft like the Il-76 from which to hang the Kaveri engine for testing. Only after its verified in that manner can it ever be put in the engine bay of a fighter -- by which time it may as well go on the AMCA itself.
Not really. It depends on engine bay clearance and how many test sensors need to be attached. As sensor footprints and digitization / wireless data transfer continues to mature, it is quite possible to use a fighter platform as an engine test bed. The Americans have plenty of history doing this.
@@ninadbhave5133 I don't think it's quite that straight forward. Also there is the issue of keeping the fighter aircraft aloft which has its own flight control laws. Maybe can be done with a fully indigenous fighter design where all the engineering know-how is in house 🏠. But even then there must be numerous issues. Russians however use a dedicated Il-76 for this purpose and they have loads of experience with engine design.
@@mtrest4 actually if you noticed they mentioned one engine replaced while other being M88. The whole point of a twin engine aircraft is the aircraft can safely fly with one engine only. The IL-76 platform does exist and it is a fine test bed, but mounting on a fighter has its own advantages such as testing more scenarios eg performance in stall, high AoA, etc
@@ninadbhave5133 I don't think it's that easy. The flight control laws for these dynamically unstable aircraft are complex. One can't just stick two different engines in there and expect it to function.
@@mtrest4 Yes, obviously it isnt as easy as sticking two brands of batteries together. It is a complex exercise where the testbed is significantly modified. Issues of dimensionality, timing, modification of fuel intake etc. is undertaken, lots and lots of CFD has to be done, etc. The engineering is difficult, but the physics is not. Is it feasible? Definitely. Is it worth it? It depends on the additional benefits that can be realized. What I'm saying is this has been done a lot in the past. Not in India, but certainly in the US.
First of all, we had great relation with Malaysia in the past, also there is a significant number of Indian diaspora living there.
