I moved to San Diego from Europe 45 years ago and I would always bring visiting friends and family from Europe to casa de Bandini, where they would enjoy Bandini's historical ambiance including their annual "#1 voted " patio; fountains and all. The ambiance has dissapeared, the charm has been replaced by corporate America, and the heart and soul of its builder/founder; Senor Bandini has been torn out of its historical roots. It has become a coffe shop. What a pity.
to Yiannos K- this is not a coffee shop- it is a restored Historical beautiful Cosmopolitan Hotel with Saloon and Restaurant (indoors and patio area) perhaps that is what you refer to as a coffee shop? or - maybe you are referring to the whole area of the Old Town State Park- yes, it has changed a bit, but still has charm. Any relatives we take to Old Town always want to visit it two or more times before leaving and going home. It may be a zoo on weekends so go during the week, quiet and nice as used to be!
I love old Town grew up there.. San Diego though is definitely over crowded now. I wish they would have left more wild hills in San Diego 🌹
I love My Old Town.. especially The Whaley House 🎃♣️🎃♣️🎃
I go as often as I can and I just chill. My favorite place in SD.
I always loved Casa de Pico before they moved to Grossmont Center.
Are u forgetting that it’s HAUNTED
So friggin' neat!

"Cistern"? I've read that folks who like to find broken stuff from the past try to find old outhouse locations.
I do like your program but ,, the building was closed for about 18 months not 6 years..

Europeans history!
I totally know what you mean. Just in the last decade it has become an over saturated park. It hasnt lost all of its charm though
