Immortal songs is a program that covers old songs. They typically have a theme or artist for each week. I think Forestella chose this song for the theme” Song from the ages” since its an old folk song from the middle ages.
Forestella sings all the songs in English, Spanish, African Zulu, Italian and French fantastically.

It's not a usual contest. This show's judges are the audience. (This was during covid so there was no live audience here but usually there's a lot of ordinary folks sitting there too). The people shown here were other contestants and the main MCs of the show in the backstage waiting room. In immortal Songs, established singers compete each week, usually under a selected theme. As the title suggests, they usually cover evergreen hits. Sometimes international, sometimes Korean songs, sometimes songs of one artist only. the winner gets a trophy plus a ticket to the King of Kings part of the show. Forestella has won King of Kings six times in a row, which is an absolute record and they have also won numerous times on the regular show too. It's a very entertaining and popular TV show in Korea, this show made Forestella a household name in Korea. :) They have excellent performances here, like Michael jackson's Smooth Criminal, Lady Gaga's Bad Romance, Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody (that one made them famous) or most recently Despacito. They also do more classically crossover stuff like the Italian song L'immensita, marc Anthony's Maldita sea mi suerte or the French ballad Je suis malade.
The group was very prepared for their performance, they didn't go halfway!
As guys of a similar certain age I recommend you react to their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody as it’s the best cover I ever heard.

FORESTELLA (you spelled it right - Forest/Stella (Italian for Star) is a made-up word - is a CROSSOVER GROUP (rock/pop/opera) and one of the best vocal groups in the world (if not the best). They took part in the contest as candidates, each on their own, and founded themselves as FORESTELLA during that time. They only came together in this constellation in the final and that's how they won. 2 Masters of Vocal Music, 1 musical actor and a rock vocalist with angelic soprano-voise (former chemical engineer in research). They all combine incredible talent with a great passion for all kinds of music. Each voice is unique, together they are pure magic. Their kind of special color of voices, vocal ranges, scills makes them very special and their harmonies in the very special "Forestella style" are unbelievable and inimitable. "Scarborough Fair" was created in a classically oriented way, which brings out their voices, ranges and scill particularly well. But they perform in every genre and style and always with a WOW effect. Their version of "Bohemian Rhapodie" is widely considered best cover, so far. Their "Bad Romance" is a "banger" and caused a sensation around the world, which seems to be repeating itself with their version of "Despacito". You'll be completely surprised and delighted and you shouldn't miss them anymore.

Their Nella Fantasia and Hijo De La Luna are equally beautiful.
Apart from being excellent classically, they are so versatile. You might want to watch Bohemian Rhapsody, Sweet Dreams or Smooth Criminal. Their Despacito was recently released and is great fun as is their Bad Romance which is a must watch.
I have been listening to and digging deep into music all of my life. I do not think there is a better Quartet right now, than Forestella. They just keep getting better and better. Thank you!

Hi~ Welcome to the world of FORESTELLA! For those who do not know about FORESTELLA, I'd love to tell you about this group briefly. They've met at a TV audition program called "Phantom Singer 2" which finds the best male cross-over quartet in South Korea in 2017 for the first time. These 4 guys were included(survived) in the final 12 singers among hundreds of applicants. And, the program PD divided those 12 amazing singers into 3 groups as the singers want. And, guess what? They (FORESTELLA = Forest + Stella(star)) won this contest!!!
When they sing on the stage, they normally set their positions like this. The first one from the left side is Ko Woo-Rim (bass, a grad-schooler in vocal music), the second one is Kang Hyeong-Ho (soprano, ex-research chemist), the third one is Cho Min-Kyu (tenor, M.A. degree in vocal music) and the fourth one is Bae Doo-Hoon (baritone, musical actor) There're many amazing songs they've covered. I wanna recommend "just a few" songs in the below. If you live in outside of S.Korea, some videos might not be seen. In that case, you can google the song that you wanna listen, with the title of the song. OK, stay safe and have a great one, everybody! 😆

This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world!
Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed.
You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! If you are a LOL fan, check their Warriors and Legends Never Die!
And they broke the record of their own with EXO's MAMA winning 6 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs. Check their magnificent performances of Bad Romance and Lazenca Save us, Unwritten Legend and Despacito too.
Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible.
Don't miss their m/v for Save our lives! It's full of wonders. Each of them is representing an element in the m/v. They sang Fake Love of BTS and their song Save our lives at MAMA. Their new original song Utopia is a must check.
Now I see they are creating a genre called Forestella. They showed "What crossover is" with Save our lives and showing "What Forestella does" with Utopia! Recently, they released their new original song, White Night.

Try their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody, Shape of you, Bad Romance or Time in a bottle. My favourite is "Je suis malade". Yes, Scarborough Fair is an Old English Folk song. We did it in Music Class too... in the 1960s...BEFORE Simon and Garfunkel covered it.

There are some stories about this song Scarborough Fair..what I've read was this is a song from a ghost (soul) of a dead soldier. He asked the herbs growing on his dead body to deliver his message to his beloved girl in Scarborough Fair where was a big herb market. He asked the herbs to tell her impossible task "Tell her to make me a cambric shirt without no seams nor needle work" to make her give up waiting for his coming back as he's already unable as he's dead. Forestella sang like as the messengers of this sad and beautiful story.
Also there are symbols those herbs significated: parsley for comfort or to remove bitterness, sage for strength, thyme for courage, rosemary for love. There's some speculation that these four herbs were used in a tonic of some sort to remove curses. What I first heard was it was a tonic recipe to remove memories..so I thought he (the dead soldier) wanted to remove the memory about him from his girl to make her not mourning for him any more.
BTW I found those herbs cannot be grown in same areas in fact while on my researching for English references.. so it could be just for remembering recipe for turkey seasoning ingredients, too.
It's amazing how stories (since that's what these old songs really are) change as time passes ... it really makes you wonder what the original meaning behind the song could be and even if the words of the song have actually changed over time as well.

It looks like you are a new RUclipsr. One suggestion is to tap your music video into the video so your viewers can hear it clearly without background noise from your external mics. Your viewers want to hear the music too. Having the volume of the music video so low, we have to turn up our volume. When you do speak, you blast us out with your high volume.
Apologies for this! I'll have to look into a method of cutting our mic's while the video/music plays - right now the settings are a little out of the 'norm' since we are trying to balance out the A/C and fans we have to have running due to the heat wave we have -_-
The video and audio is mixed directly into our videos as we watch them - so the playback is real time - I probably need to check and bump the audio levels up though on the video playback ... Thanks for letting us know!

initially I wanna tell you guys how blah blah blah Forestella is but suddenly also realize it is indeed pointless to do so. instead if you are still interested, you should watch/react to more Forestella singing performances to realize how phenomenal they are are. there will be no disappointment for sure. use your ears to find it. trust me. BTW if you do more, you may have to do some editing for your reaction videos as most of the Korean TV broadcasting companies will block or issue copyright strikes if they find out their TV shows are being used without their consent.
