When you are in a Target or Walmart, do you check the toy section or electronic collectible toy section first? What line do you usually look for first? For me, it is always the toy section and always Star Wars! 🔥 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐓𝐨𝐲 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐩: nerdzoic.com/ 🔥 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐁𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞: nerdzoic.com/ebay
And also by the way I'm just starting to collect the Black Series I have three 40th anniversary Empire Strikes Back and you are one of the one that helped me start my collecting I love your channel and it's helped me so much
Thanks for this video .I'm a old school guy and it's so hard not to open these but I do cause my parents couldn't afford these and I'm in my late 30s and just started to collect these "Action figures " (in will Smith's voice ) and love that feeling and I'm hooked. I always say this " every toys need to be played with, some like to keep em boxed up others just like the smell, feel and excitement on the details when opening one up "
Thanks for sharing your techniques. The larger card backs for Black Series usually have a space on the bottom of the bubble. I usually take a small knife and start there, always tilting the tip of the knife upwards to avoid pealing the background behind the figure. Only cut from the bottom toward the side away from the card and then the top. I leave the right side as a hinge so the cardboard underneath remains un-torn. Doesn't ALWAYS turn out perfect but it usually works well.
Love the channel! With blister carded figures I use a razor/boxcutter and go in from the left corner, cutting the left side and bottom side, i then carefully reach in and sneak the figure out. It works about 95% of the time. That way you can put it back in the bubble if you need to resell and they usually still hold in place w/o tape
I received my first Marvel Diamond Select figures today and I completely destroyed the packaging because I had no idea how to open them without destroying the cardboard. A few hours later, I watched this video smh. Great video, just wish I watched it earlier.
I'm still debating on weather i should open my Marvel select Spider-Man, i have place set up and everything but i just know if i should remove it, but i do have a MacFarlane Detective comic 1000 Batman on the way and thankfully its in a box so easier to preserve. It's just Spider-Man that's the debate. Btw this is my start of my collection so this is the very first figure I've ever bought, hahaha so that maybe another reason why i feel so bad about removing it from the box.
You don't have to nuke the the blister packs like that. Just take an exacto/hobby knife (works much better than a box cutter because it's more narrow) or razor and carefully trim under the edge like he did here *but* *only* *on* *3* *sides* (top, bottom, and right). Then lift on the right, using the still intact left side as a hinge, and slide out the interior shell. This has the advantage of allowing one to store the parts back in the packaging or use a single piece of tape to secure the figure back in the package.
ML first then Joes. Finally SW. I carefully peel away the tape. For opening boxes I use a popsicle stick to carefully open it without damaging the box. Hate blister packages
Usually I just go to whatever it is I'm specifically looking for, then I'll look around at other lines! Great video mate I'll be checking the link for those baggies :)
One reason to open a very expensive, hard to find, vintage figure is to fix something that happened to it inside the packaging. If you bought online and it arrived damaged, or it moved from its original position inside the box during shipping and there is not substitute available. That happened to me and thats why I'm here, this is the only thing I can do if I want to keep it looking "new". But knowing that I opened it once will haunt my conscience :(
The collector I purchased a pre-loved MMC BRUTICUS from packaged all the figures so well, that I thought they came from the factory warehouse! And the boxes the figures are so pristine that I am grateful for this video! 😁👍
I usually don't even bother with the electronics collectables area. First toys I check are transformers followed by DC Multiverse (basically anything McFarlane Toys) then Marvel Legends
I always go to the toy isle first, but what I first look for really depends on what I want. The harder to find stuff first, then restocks on older things I may have missed.
If I’m not wrong, Shartimus shows another way to open the second kind of box, cutting a kinda of door (LOL) in the plastic in the feet area and then sliding the figure over there. That’s how I have been saving those boxes :)
Always main toy aisle. And always just Star Wars. Rarely do I check the toys in the electronics area, and if I do it’s only because I’m looking at what vinyl records they have and might as well look at toys too.
Right now I am currently going to the toy section and looking for MMPR lightning collection or GI JOE Classified Series. But most of the time I am checking out the toys section for Star Wars & Wrestling! Those darn AEW figures are still MIA at my Walmart.
I always check the toy aisle for GI JOE..thanks Matt for the video..never thought of that saving the card on the 3.75” figures but makes perfect sense..I fell out when you talked about NIck JR..too funny..
Wouldn't it be possible to heat up the glue on a blister carded figure with a hairdryer to remove it without damage? I mean it works for price tags and stickers that would otherwise ruin the paper or leave sticky marks on plastic.
Just put my hands on a 98 Toybiz set of Resident Evil 2 figures and would like to display them outside the box without mangle the cool 90s style box art
I never unbox my figures. Only if I have duplicates will I open a boxed fig or funko, or whatever. The rare example is a prop replica with functional features. To each his own.
That’s exactly how I used to be, but me personally I’ve found a recent appreciation of unboxing them and displaying them differently. You’re right to each their own.
I'll usually go straight to the electronic/collectables aisles. I typically look for newer NECA stuff first then I'll make my way down to the WWE figures.
You forgot one important thing... PATIENCE ...you must have Patience. I've found that the older the blister pack, the more likely that the glue has started to get stiff and starting to detach. I'm actually having issues with some of my unopened blister figures where the blister pack is detaching from the card backs.
Since walmart is the only store close to me i check the electronics aisle for neca,( i collect the horror ones), then the toy section for black series, then the clerance section just in case
Totally unrelated to toys but you should watch the video for The Attack of the Dead Men by Sabaton. There’s a guy in the crowd that could be your doppelganger.
You should film yourself reacting to it. Make sure it’s the official video. Just be aware, people that listen to Sabaton for the first time tend to find themselves having a new favorite band.
Hahaha....... make sure your honest when you re-sell your re-packaged box ( and don't lie and say it's never been opened ) so I'm not paying x4 what the figure should cost. Word. The collecting game is full of scalpers and scam artists.
Trading cards first so I can get let down early lol , then WWE elite and then electrics to look at the air pods pro that I’m never buying at that price lol
I check whatever is closest to the doors, so like in my local Walmart the toy isle is so I’ll hit up that first then move to the electronics, but if I’m out of town I’ll hit whatever comes first as I walk through the store, and my first lines I check for is DC Multiverse, Marvel Legends and Black Series, then in electronics its NECA

I am the same. Toy section and Star Wars
Marvel or Star Wars

Man, you said it. I grew up on the broke side, and I am reliving childhood.
27 years old and filling out the character army I imagined I had when I was young with a few ragtag characters from all different shows or games lol

I usually look at marvel legends first mainly because that’s what the stores restock more often
I used a knife, and cut the bottom of a retro wave electro’s container, and slipped out the tray, and on the shelf, the box looks good as new

Where’s the amazon link you mentioned? Can you do a video or talk more about figure/accessory storage and organization?
I usually don't even bother with the electronics collectables area. First toys I check are transformers followed by DC Multiverse (basically anything McFarlane Toys) then Marvel Legends
Nice!
Toy isle, and the marvel legends are the first toy of interest that I run across in that isle.
I always go to the toy isle first, but what I first look for really depends on what I want. The harder to find stuff first, then restocks on older things I may have missed.

Extremely helpful yet again big nerdy!!
@Nerdzoic Which baggies do you recommend? I don't see the link you mentioned so maybe I'm just missing it. :)
Always main toy aisle. And always just Star Wars. Rarely do I check the toys in the electronics area, and if I do it’s only because I’m looking at what vinyl records they have and might as well look at toys too.
Nice! I like to just make loops around all the areas.
Start from @4:15
You're doing the lord's work

Now you tell me this??? I’ve been opening them like a Cave Man for years 🤦🏻♂️
I always check the toy aisle for GI JOE..thanks Matt for the video..never thought of that saving the card on the 3.75” figures but makes perfect sense..I fell out when you talked about NIck JR..too funny..
definitely toy aisle and i’m always keeping my open for a new batman
Nice! There is always tons coming out
Wouldn't it be possible to heat up the glue on a blister carded figure with a hairdryer to remove it without damage? I mean it works for price tags and stickers that would otherwise ruin the paper or leave sticky marks on plastic.
Mold forming inside the package is another reason to open it and save it from a gradual inner destruction.
I always hit the action figures area, and look for Black Series figs. Some times I’ll go to the Lego isle as well
Usually I check legos first and then see what McFarlene figures they have and then glance over at the Transformers
Always hit the toy isle... some stores stock all over.. as always, great video
Exactly. Whenever my wife or kids make store stops without me I always ask them to look for restocked items. Thank you Suzie for watching my channel.
Just put my hands on a 98 Toybiz set of Resident Evil 2 figures and would like to display them outside the box without mangle the cool 90s style box art
I never unbox my figures.

@@Nerdzoic Its nice to agree to disagree..that is why I like your channel so much.
I would like to see a video about getting the figure out of the plastic and not loosen the joints
Thanks Bob for the feedback. I’ll add this to my hit list.
I'll usually go straight to the electronic/collectables aisles. I typically look for newer NECA stuff first then I'll make my way down to the WWE figures.

Sure, show me now 400 figs deep into collecting & destroying boxes. I kid
When I arrive at any store, I go straight to the toy aisles and then the adult collectibles section. 😁
🙌🏼
@@Nerdzoic Like today. There goes another bunch of Benjaminz 😂😂😂😂
I go for the marvel legends. My target and Walmart have nothing though.
I’m hoping they’ll start restocking since the holidays are just around the corner.
Nerdzoic yeah.
I am a toy section first guy. Then on to the the collectible area next. I look for Marvel Legends then Black Series.
I much safer to use a butter or spread knife with no sharp edges to open the flaps on a box.
Toy isle first, then electronics. Transformers is my main goal.
Right on.
Since walmart is the only store close to me i check the electronics aisle for neca,( i collect the horror ones), then the toy section for black series, then the clerance section just in case
Electronics collectable isle and usually funko pops is what I'm after walmart has some cool exclusives
Great advice! Thanks for sharing 👍😁
Thank you!
Toy aisle, marvel legends. My Walmart doesn’t have a collectible section by electronics haha
That stinks. You’d think all of them would , since they’re such a big box store.
Toy section and also Star Wars.
too much nick jr hahaha
Never.
Totally unrelated to toys but you should watch the video for The Attack of the Dead Men by Sabaton. There’s a guy in the crowd that could be your doppelganger.

What to open what not to open with Star Wars black series would love to see your input
Open any of the main line, anything else is at your discretion.
when was this video when i opened my vintage star wars figures
When is the video of star wars the black series collections coming out?
I look for marvel legends,
because it would be a miracle if the store near me fully restock them and clears the peg warmers!!!!!!
Preach it.
Hahaha....... make sure your honest when you re-sell your re-packaged box ( and don't lie and say it's never been opened ) so I'm not paying x4 what the figure should cost. Word. The collecting game is full of scalpers and scam artists.
Very true. Integrity is important.
Toy section, and marvel legends
