I was expecting to see the actual thing which you didn't show, extend the lens then see how stable it is and how useful the base plate is. From what I see, it should have been longer (an inch more).
this cannot be specially for P1000 but a generic one. The end support needs to be just before the lens begins to extend... as that's where center of gravity extends to when fully extended. I'll need to keep searching...

It’s great. A lot of my camera work is at long distances and my camera is way more stable. I really would advise anyone with an p1000 to buy it
