The only reason I was a weeaboo is because of that god damn anime. Before watching anime I genuinely hated my life, I hated my parents, I hated my siblings, I hated my school, everyone. Even my birthday which was expensive as hell and I got everything I wanted sucked ass because my heart wasn’t there. And then I found anime, which was entertaining and felt like a genuine escape from the hell that was my life. One thing led to another and before I know it I have this false idea of Japan being a mystical foreign land which was nothing like where I was from. I had gotten a job which paid well, I did favors for money in my community, and learned Japanese so I could run away and live out the rest of my days there. Then I found this video, and realized what I’d become. I studied up on what was wrong with Japan, and I realized I would just end up commiting suicide if I went through with my plan. I immediately backed out and decided to instead of escape my problems, I’d face them head on. I decided to put all the money I’d saved up to the best therapist I could find, and use the rest to buy myself my own house. Sorry for the huge tangent, heh. I still enjoy a good anime every once in a while and I still respect the culture very much, though.
