Thanks for the review Bob. I love simple and I love Chameleon. : )
You and me both!
Nicely done sir,...side note...perfect for those that POTA/SOTA and need a simple base SWR measurement. Nice unit.....
Thanks for the view and feedback; my thoughts exactly.
Pretty nice bit of kit. If you don't care about 160M, for $90 you can use the Diamond SX-20C (3.5 to 150 MHz).
Thanks for viewing @W9HJBill. The SX-20C requires you to be connected to a radio and transmit, an analyzer will measure SWR without being connected to a radio.
I would like to see an analyzer like this with the 440 band. I do a lot of camping and always set up cross-band repeat from 440 to 2 m.
Nice. That would be a great feature to have. Appreciate the comment and hope those who can influence grab it and go....
Great video Bob. I prefer the RigExpert Stick 230 (about $300) as it has the graph so I can see if I need to go up or down to tune. This new analyzer is similar to the MFJ-269 as you have to sweep to see if you are too long or too short. Doesn't take a bunch of time and at a significant savings, you can still tune quickly.
As for the Tiny SA. correct me if I am wrong (I often am) it is a spectrum analyzer not a VNA so not sure how you could get SWR from that device. As someone commented below, a nanoVNA is absolutely the cheapest option but they tend to be a bit fiddly to set up for simple SWR measurements and are not as rugged for field use.
All that said, this is certainly a dead simple device at a very reasonable price.

Thanks for stopping by Bob. As for the Tiny SA Ultra, I'm going off of what I've been told...I have yet to learn to use it, along with a thousand other gadgets in the shack collecting dust due to my allotment of discretionary time.
I think its great we have so many options; everyone gets to choose what works best for budget, needs, understanding and on and on. So much gear, so little time.
You left out the T-1 from Elecraft which is in the $300 range and is equally easy to operate and is the closest competitor
Elecraft T-1 is a Tuner, this is an Analyzer....
Not so sure the TinySA Ultra measures SWR. However, the NanoVNA which is in a similar form factor and price as the TinySA, does measure the S11 parameter which can be plotted as VSWR.
Ya know I get those two gadgets mixed up sometimes.... Thanks for the view and comment.
thank you
My pleasure, always enjoying sharing great gear.
Wow Bob, this seems to be what I've been looking for. I have a NanoVNA but find it finicky and end up calibrating it several times to get a stable repeatable reading. This seems so much easier. You didnt mention anything about calibration. So I'm to assume there is none needed. It looks very easy to use. Does it have a build-in rechargable battery or does it require one to be installed before using? I looked at the Chameleon website and unfortunately it is out of stock at this time. I'll be keeping my eye on this one. I like how you showed using it with your cha f-loop. Exactly what i was thinking of before watching your video. 73, Joe KB9RCR
No calibration, comes calibrated from Chameleon. It sold out quickly after my review, and now it is on backorder. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
I own quite some antennas from chameleon and am nearly obsessed to get a PRV and the remote random wire coupler (based on the MAT-50) shown in one of your previous videos from one of our european retailers.
Does this analyzer support compensation of the feedline length and type?
Otherwise it would not make any sense measuring not directly attached to the feedpoint. Because of the feedline's transformation effects one would be tuning the antenna and the feedline, which will in most cases, lead into the antenna itself is not tuned to optimum resonance that would be achievable. Still, this will be a good thing for radios without an integrated coupler, but will not max it out for those with one built-in.

I hope it isn't very expensive....it seems primitive compared to other options.
@davidgold3267 how's it going David. It's listed on their website for $199. I'll be doing a follow up video in the coming weeks as they have added some features; PC connectivity and plotting...haven't tried it yet but as soon as I do I'll post it on my channel.
@HOAHamRadio oh nice! Not a bad price. I look forward to your next video.
How MFJ like.... Less functions for almost the same or more than others.
...the SA-1 is half the cost of the MFJ analyzer, and less than 1/2 of the price of the Stick Pro -- the exact opposite of your point...
