The guy who made gumball actually worked for another cartoon compeny and he had a lot of charecter ideas that they turned down, so he decided to go to cartoon net work, put all his unused charecters into one idea and CN loved the idea, so they made a pilot episode and it just took off ✈

I think the reason shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show, Steven Universe are so popular is because they don't treat their child audience like babies. They have mature themes like loss, grief, and hardship but still present them in ways kids can understand.

Fun fact: The guy who worked on Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends also got Lauren Faust involved because they were great friends, in real life.
Still kinda salty we never got a crossover with Foster's Home and MLP. That would've been awesome.

When u went on talking that all these golden age cartoons have ended.... I kinda let some tears out. While it was not part of my childhood it really shaped me as a teen and still inspires me. It almost feels like I betray them by moving onto the next generation of cartoons...
For some reasons this episode really made me emotional probably because I cried in every single finale of all the cartoons he just mentioned and my mind just flashbacked into all of those finales

Me: Steven universe? Heh, haven't heard that name in a long time...
During the dark ages, two warriors known as Chowder and Flapjack managed to survive the apocalypse, finding a chosen one named Adventure Time, on a quest to find his brother, Regular Show. Along the way however, the two first soon could not stay and hog the spotlight, knowing that they would eventually fade out, so they made that time now for AT to shine. Soon, AT found Regular Show and would find a true miracle from the sky…The Amazing World Of Gumball. He would join the team in a quest to find true cartoon enlightenment, finding Steven Universe (and Clarence, the weak link). Eventually, they would meet with We Bare Bears. Soon however, Regular Show would fade out, leaving the others alone. And without their leader, Adventure Time, who had recently faded out after, they spread apart. Over The Garden Wall had been stalking them, but after discovered, the team's creator, CN, killed it off peacefully. Soon SU died out, then We Bare Bears, than soon, Gumball's time had come. Along the way a new recruit came, Craig and The Creek as well as Victor and Valentino, Mao Mao Heroes Of Pure Heart, and Unikitty to fight off a new villain, Mighty Magiswords. But the real villain was lurking around for so long, Uncle Grandpa, it was eventually found and defeated.
I didn't watch Over the Garden Wall until this past year because I was avoiding it, but, my dude, take an evening and crack that chesnut wide open. If you're an animation fan, then you're in for one heck of a ride.
I gotta say, the Ok Ko collab with the other cartoon shows was the best thing to ever exist

It just came out with a second season. A mysterious train, talking dogs, mirror people and a cool premise.
-The Dragon Prince
Made by one of the creators of ATLA and it's spiritual successor. It's got magic, elves, dragons, some truely amazing characters (including multiple lgbtq people and a badass deaf general) and complex villans.
Warning, season 1's animation is... not great but it gets way better in the next two.
-Carmen Sandiego
Intresting and unique. I haven't watched a ton but my sister loves it.
-The Owl House
There's only 1 ep. so far but it looks really good. And if my memory serves, it is made by someone who worked on gravity falls.

This 2010s era of cartoons is well-known for the thin-line, big bean head, bean mouth, and round body (most derogatorily known as CalArts).
This is because during the economic downturn of the 2010s, it was simpler, time-efficient, and money-saving to do this, which this style was heavily influenced by Anime.
This is why your own character is in this 2010s art style, rather than being in a 90s to early 2000s art style.

Star vs The Forces of Evil, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(2013), The Amazing World of Gumball, and OK KO walked through the door. And Steven Universe is Still Holding the door awaiting for something to join it for a new renaissance.

I too was falling away from Cartoons for a little bit. But when I finally watched My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic in January 2018 after blindly hating it, my mind completely changed. Without that, I probably wouldn't be in the animation fandom like I am now again. I was getting super nervous about the 2020's after one heck of a ride through the 2010's, but once I watched The Owl House my mind was like "Oh yeah, it's all coming together."
Over the garden wall was one of my favourite things that happened in 2010’s (besides Voltron and She-ra on Netflix)

love it, hate it be neutral about it, it doesn't matter. it brought tons of people together, showed that cartoons aren't only for a specific demographic, shoed that reboots, if done right, can be good (looking at you ppg 2016 and ttg) and it ran through the entire 2010s (2010-2019).

Adventure time was my childhood cartoon
Infinity Train is also really good, and the first cartoon of 2020, owl house, is really promising I'm surprised you didn't mention these. Also Mao Mao and clone wars deserve recognition.
There was a slight chance for a new era of greatness to occur when infinity train came out in 2019, however, it sadly got canceled despite it being the best show cartoon network had produced in years and now we'll never get to see what the new era would've looked like :(
The fact that most of these either air too early or too late so everyone is asleep (thank God I have Movistar so I watch them) or straight off don’t air is so sad 😢
