I think Ferrari is just jealous, that someone created a cooler end result car than the do. Just like there arrogance with there clutch problems, wy Lamborghini started to build there own cars. Still the F40 is one of my all time favorite cars ever.
Such an insane video! Thanks so much for getting to Japan and showing us the culture there, and how it's so stylish. Can't wait to see what elements you are inspired by and bring back to Europe!! And buzzing for the other videos in Japan!
I'm so glad to see you freaking out about everything in Japan cause I would do exactly the same thing. So to be able to vicariously live through you in these videos has been awesome. Keep it up!
Watching this day live with Alexi commentating was a treat, thanks for this behind-the-scenes footage! So many amazing cars, shame about the spotty weather and "track" conditions.
I've followed d1gp for a while but its so refreshing to see drift games quality over these cars.. It really shows just how beautiful the livery work and kit selection is! SO GOOOD MAN
Keep in mind those Ferraris usually arent as rare as Ferrari likes to say they are. Plus they are anti-consumer as hell (even compared to other car companies, which is impressive ) so screw em lol. Also ya know how in the West we rebadge Lexus and Acuras and Infinitis as Toyota, Honda and Nissans as their JDM counterpart? I think they do the exact opposite in Japan haha. Ive seen Acura badged Integras and stuff quite a bit in other vids which is funny and cool.
WOW! Another awesome video from you guys! Thanks @driftgames_life for continuing to upload amazing content like this for all of us to watch and enjoy! I'm really enjoying the videos about your trip to Japan.... I'm looking forward to seeing what your next adventure will be! Keep up the great work and stay safe out there!
For me this sketchy stuff what Dave was talking about in d1 is this what makes it different more interesting and exciting but there are good and bad competitions cause of it . But this all is seeking for next level of drifting !!!Snappy big angle initiations and stuff like that makes it harder to do better chase and lead also which is exactly what you aiming during grassroots with your friends to be more skilful and be better . Streams are incomparable better of our European DMEC but the way of judging for meee even if it’s far from satisfying is still better in Japan D1 .
Keep that Japan content coming boys! Many many legends in D1GP, it will always be the grand daddy of drift events. Would be cool if you could visit some legendary shops around Japan like HKS, Bee-R, R-Magic, MCR, etc. p.s. Lucas please fix Dave's camera settings and enable image stabilization 🤣
Yea their last video where Dave's camera lowered the shutter speed due to low light resulting in a fucking 10fps video REALLY irritated me. Was almost unwatchable for me tbh it just gave me motion sickness lol
The stabilisation (or lack of) is also irritating but I'm kinda used to it at this point because so many creators have issues like that so it doesn't bother me AS much as choppy footage
That blue S15 was sick! Always cool to see a unique kit/style on one. Also Daihatsu is owned by Toyota so explains the GR badge. Also the Copen is FWD afaik, tho maybe they drivetrain swapped it lol
That GT86 kit is pretty solid. I feel it just being 1 single overall color kinda makes it difficult for the brain to see the form/body being smooth. Like a proper livery or paint job with 2 colors would definitely make it pop a lot more to see those shapes emphasized more.
Maybe FD & Driftmasters could add scored solo expression runs to the top 8/4/2 battles, to replace OMTs? No need to initiate at a set point, just be epic, get close to walls, much smoke, maximum angle, extra points for backing it in. Both drivers get to go hog wild & get scored, & then it's down to the serious controlled work of lead & chase runs, but if they come up even, the tie breaker is the expression run scores...
have not even seen the video yet but I KNOW that thumb nail is bait haha, I'm sure it was awesome and I'm glad you got to experience it and to have Alexi commentating is the cherry on top.
Absolutely loving the content, it's been a long time coming but I'm glad to see you're in Japan! Can't wait for you to link up with Jimmy oakes and the rest of the lads for a crazy matsuri!
I honestly think that FD needs a judging system like D1 or even a hybrid system. A lot of the fans have zero faith in the judges. Most of them are faceless guys that haven’t ever competed at that level so there’s a lot of disrespect.
I think the kit on the Blue S15 would look better myself your car Dave! But the 240 front end kit looks good! Love the Merci And 4 Rotor S15 and the LBW Ferraris! The Blue Booststar S15 beside your boy is Sammir’s helper and friends car In D1! He’s pretty good himself!
Toyota owns a big chunk of Daihatsu and they pretty much handles Toyota's Kei car business (and also other affordable regular cars sold across South East Asia).
The fact that Ferrari gets all bent out of shape when anyone does something visually to their cars will always be amusing. I'm all for the JP Liberty Walk flare.
Ok so talking as a person with not much knowledge about competitive drifting but quite a lot of passion for it, the way they are judged with DOSS basically allowes leader to kinda run away with low angle. So it rewards a very weird style and they are kinda stuck with it. Also I havent followed d1 in a while but another thing is they dont get a whole lot of new drivers(or at least I personally havent seen many fresh younger drivers) and so it also might not be moving forward as much bcs of that. Another thing is tracks and line that drivers are given can be meh. I remember checking how is d1 doing some time ago and I saw a suuuper weird initiation where from what I understoond drivers are just told to just kinda guess it. Like to an extreme when the area where the lead driver MIGHT initiate is huge. I might have misunderstood it but it really seemed like it. And if so then thats really weird. I mean comparing to what I have seen on that track Odaiba is fine xD But in general comparing to tracks I have seen in other pro drift series, d1 doesnt seem have a lot of good tracks. Another thing I am not sure about is how it was before but I think there was a very specific vision for the style of driving and it was consistent and rewarded good driving. As a result of it being consistent drivers were able to grow a lot. But then with the DOSS the style slowly changed towards where it is now when you can see how top drivers who you know can drive incredibly well but in order to win drive almost straight sometimes which in certain cases can look just ridiculous. But well I dont know much about d1 or competitive drifting so this is just how it looks from an outside perspective and might be completely wrong. If you know more please correct me
The point system rewards the chase driver, it's up to 15 bonus points for the proximity on the chase run. The emphasis is for the chase driver to really stick on the lead drivers door.
Id love to go to Japan and check out the drag racing scene. Probably see some cool stuff. Be even better if i could ship my E36 over to go drag racing and make some highway runs.🔥🔥

something is happening, if drift had continued as before, manual, 300hp and 500hp, it would be great because that's what drift was like before when neither Europe nor the United States had drift competitions, only Japan, now they do, 1000hp. , a rear brake cooler that makes the car look horrible because they open the rear window, a lot of steering angle, sequential gear, they no longer look like cars that you can build, they look like racing cars, when from the beginning it was about having fun , so Europe and the United States ruined the drift.
@@driftgames_life I apologize if I was bold with what I said at the end, but drift no longer feels like it used to, now it seems like burnout competitions, since you can't even see the cars because of so much smoke hahaha, and I know that some like European drift and Americans and I respect that, but I don't share the same taste, and as I said I apologize if what I said at the end sounded a bit daring.
Competition requires money to make it viable at a national level, nobody in the wider world wants to watch average cars being driven average, they want to see more extreme versions of the sport and the cars.
Yeah you’re right… horse power junkies kinda ruined the “feel” of drifting… but the tradition togue street drifting and some other chill events still exist. It’s just since they made drifting more of a sport now (especially those Adam LZ events), all of the foreign spectators changed the vibe.
@@Pharaoh_The_Great Another thing I see is that the d1gp cars are more difficult to drive, I'm talking about the d1gp from the early 2000s, since if you watch videos from inside the cabin of the car, you will see that in the d1gp, they moved the steering wheel a lot so that the car keeps skidding, look at today's skid, just keep the steering wheel on one side, you just wait for a curve to come and you move it again, that is, I'm talking about the change of style. , of the cars from current drift competitions. Nowadays they modify them a lot, including the suspension and the steering angle, they also put a lot of curvature in the wheels.
The GT86 URAS kit is one of the four drift style chassis kits. First one is Futago Line shop, made here in the US by @davidbobb, and then the Origin Labo kit i believe came after or before the URAS gt86 kit. Then the Rectify kit is another drift style kit for the gt86.

Can u make vid about dos system... Scoring
Oh that'd be nice
24:04 Grande Fausto!
D1's biggest problem now is the track, is not chase friendly and almost all the layout only has two corners, and sometimes doss is pretty werid.
I think the item in the track regulations that says ``can see the entire track from the judging seats'' is what is causing these crap.
