I absolutely *LOVE* that final scene of Dent holding Joe Chill at gunpoint. You, as the player, are compelled to stop him since you grow to understand Joe and see how he truly felt remorse for killing Bruce's parents as he was just a desperate crook who made a mistake that gave birth to Batman and seeing Harvey at the brink of a mental breakdown, crying over how Joe took away Bruce's parents really hits hard as we've also grown to understand Bruce and Harvey's bond on a deeper level that the previous Arkham Games never had the time to explore. It also gives Bruce development, having to unknowingly befriend the murder of his parents and willingly let him go, giving him some closure. Honestly, they didn't just create a good twist in this game, compared to Arkham Knights' predictable twist with Jason, but it also makes you sympathise with Arkhamverse Two-Face as we see his origin play out, it's just so well handled that Im amazed they were able to execute all of these emotional stakes in a VR game? I can also say that both Troy Baker and Roger Craig Smith gave fantastic performances in this game, as you really felt the pain in both of their voice performances. Overall, this game earns its spot in the Arkhamverse canon continuity, and unlike SS: KTJL, it actually uses the Arkham-verse setting to its advantage in telling a good story.
Very well said, as a die hard Arkham fan I couldn't agree more with everything you said. Not only a great twist, and surprising ending, but emotional, adds weight to everything we know before, deepens Two-Face as a character in relation to Bruce, Deepens Bruces character, adds weight to Scarecrow being the one to almost create most of these monsters... the performances, just everything was so well done, and most defintiely deserves it's place in the Arkhamverse canon! I just finished this game a few days ago. Such an amazing game. Great story, characters, gameplay....It's all there. The VR experience also makes it so much more immersive. This game delivered from start to finish. Glad to see others enjoying it as much as I did.
It really did man, completely agree... the story, characters, the performances, the gameplay, the music, the details.. everything was top notch, and blew my expectations away, when I already had high ones. Can't wait to play it over again, and see what they plan on doing next with DLC, and a sequel if they make one which i'm sure they're going to with it's success. My mind just keeps racing with ideas, and characters they're going to focus on in the sequel. I can't wait! Thanks for the awesome comment. 🦇🙌🦇
