I loved seeing Leonard execute some RPOs. I think that was a huge piece of the puzzle for RL to become exceptional. He checked that box last Saturday. Now I think we just need to see RL have better accuracy on the intermediate and long pass game. IF he can get there (and that is an "IF"), he could be one of the best QBs in the country. RL has so much talent, running and throwing, that if he puts it together, he can go to a whole different level. I'm pulling for him, obviously, but IF he takes the next step, ND can be a dangerous team down the stretch.
I can tell ya one thing I noticed, ND played better on the road so far than at home, don’t know why that is, but I see this game being close for at least a couple of quarters, but I think since Notre Dame is a good road team, they should win this game. If they don’t,than you can blame the coaching staff for not having them prepared, and you also have to remember, as long as Texas A&M keeps winning it’s kind of pushing Notre Dame up the ranking pole!!!
I think ND's playoff chances are pretty simple: win out, and ND is in. Lose again, and ND is likely out. No real mystery. Take care of business. Beating Ga Tech would be a nice step forward.
Kiser and Oben have been setting the edge, forcing runners back inside where others get the tackle. Look at the tapes and see where they are when there`s a TFL.

I didn't expect a Foskey type performance or anything from Oben ... but I thought he'd get some occasional QB pressure and maybe some solid plays on the edge. He's been kind of a ghost on the field. Hope he picks it up. If not ... go Burnham, go Junior!
I wouldn't say "horrendous." But they are not good ... at least not in the sense of being "'good" on the national stage. In other words, there is no excuse for ND to lose at home against this NIU team. None. Full stop. So, ND really must be very good against the remaining schedule to have a legit claim to a playoff spot. ND wins out ... they are in. ND loses again, they are likely out. They put themselves into this hole by losing to NIU. We'll see if they can play themselves out of it. Imagine, if you can, a world in which ND pulls out the NIU game, even just 17-16. ND almost certainly is top 5 and looking good for a home game in the playoffs. Amazing what a couple of points can mean.
Forget the NIU loss for "just a second"....at this point MF longest win streak is 5 games, if we go 11-1 he will have doubled that and then has the chance to add to it in the playoffs, so obviously a very good job by him as a 3rd year HC....BUT (back to remembering NIU now) don't think you can call it a Top 5 performance by him with the NIU loss on there, unless he runs through the playoff to win the Natty. That is really the only atonement for that NIU loss..
