Something tells me the coastal highway project was realigned and readjusted more for the sake of protecting the underground and underwater submarine cables than the residential and ancestral estates of the people. Development is controlled world over, why shouldn't they do the same in Nigeria. Let them fix the bad roads first. You go to Rivers state, you see dilapidated schools facing newly built ones by Wike. Why not fix the delapidated ones instead of building entire new ones? Is it that they're not wise?

Every road is important. The coastal road is a good project and should be supported. This government is doing a good work so far, so lets support them. There are a lot of obstacles, which can be solved, but they are doing there best.

This is not about speaking for new or old alignments. We should not subject this matter to another political manoeuvre. The Ministry should explore a scientific way of addressing the concerns of the people. Why is the Hon. Minister sounding like he wants to create warlike situation between genuinely concerned Nigerians. Compensation is usual and should have been contemplated for, during design and costing for the road.

This project is a misplaced priority. It is an avenue to syphon public funds. Why not complete the East/West road and the other bad roads in the country instead of going to dump our money in the ocean? You have not been able to maintain the roads on terra-firma, you are going to build on swamps. Have you thought of the number of bridges that would be required on the road? With the issue of climate change to contend with, the road is very likely to be washed away in a couple of years from now. I am disappointed.
