🐊Thanks for watching guys! You can sign the petition mentioned in the video here:

I have already signed the petition - idiots need to learn and our wildlife deserves protection from such idiots. Wonderful presentation.
Thanks!
Signed for you
Excellent video and I totally agree. 👍
I feel sorry for that dog, as well as the croc that ended up getting shot just for being it’s natural self. Utter stupidity!
Petition signed and donation made.
i agree, if he wants to be croc food do it without the camera & leave your poor dog at home, then go for a swim.bloody idiot
Right now your the voice of Australia
I certainly hope not! 😂
Wearing a seatbelt should be personal choice.
Thanks mate, agreed, petition signed. Cheers Phil
Thanks Phil!
Well, side Nick.
Usually I don't like any new laws being introduced, it gets a bit ridiculous at times but these proposed laws make complete sense!
That croc was hanging around the boat ramp it probably had to be moved on, in saying that the bloke who walked down for a swim is a total goose.
The next bloke who launched his boat might of been in a bit of strife it was basically sitting on the ramp submerged.
I am totally open to the idea of crocodiles like that being managed on a case by case basis, most of the big crocs I’ve worked with in captivity where removed from hanging around boat ramps.
This recent case is just an example of this behaviour though
@@WickedWildlife thanks for your reply mate, I always enjoy wicked wildlife and the way you educate👍
Good one Nick 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🐊🐊🐊
Happy to sign and donate 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you very much!
Signed. Donated. I've seen enough stupid acts by tourists around croc waters to know that warning signs don't help but maybe a threat to their bank account might work.
Thanks mate! Unfortunately it’s just as often locals as well!
@@WickedWildlife Well, true. I thought about that after my initial comment and hoped you'd correct me. And yeah, it's true in many areas. I lived up around Bloomfield/Wujal Wujal and most of the locals up there have a deep respect for the salt-water crocodile (bilkamul).
Which I guess should be expected, given that the Bloomfield River had, when I was living there, five crocs over 3 metres living in the river between the mouth and the community.
There is/was also a croc over 5 metres at the North end of Weary Bay at the mouth of Plantation Creek.
With respect to the subject, I had to warn some German tourists one morning at a boat ramp near Bloomfield/Ayton. They'd camped the night and when I was driving past, one of them was walking down the boat ramp to have a wash. There was a BIG warning sign at the ramp...in many languages as you know, including German.
Another time, my partner was talking to a couple from Melbourne at the Cooktown wharf. Their exact words to her were, "These warning signs about crocodiles are just here for the tourists, aren't they? We've been here for a few days and haven't seen one."
Even beyond that, crocs need to be protected from retaliatory removals or shootings. They are beautiful (well, to me) big lizards that play a key role in the ecosystem. And to see one basking on a mud bank is something special.
Signing for the future of Crocodiles and Humans😁 🐊
Thanks mate!
Great video mate, and signed 👍
Great video Nick couldn’t agree more. Hope this gets made law cheers
Thanks mate! It’s unfortunate we even need to consider this, but it appears to be an ongoing issue
Done and done
Well done mate, education, not eradication
Signed Nick. That's a great idea you have.
Thanks mate!!
Only see the Freshwater Crocs inland Northern Territory, bumped into Quite a few when out on exercise with the Australian Army, out near the Tindall region.
I adore freshies! Whilst I failed to stipulate here, these proposals of course are only in relation to salt water crocodiles
@@WickedWildlife Yeah, we knew that there were not many Salties around, so we swam a lot inland. I thought the Salties have been protected for a long time, and there is an abundance on the coast.
@@simonpaterson9648 there is certainly good numbers now, infact the NT is Probobly nor close to pre European numbers
Queensland on the other half is unlikely to ever reach natural numbers since there’s only limited breeding areas as the great divide prevents them moving inland on the east coast and that stretch of coast is very highly developed
@@WickedWildlife Thanks for the reply mate, love ya channel.
Great video mate
Thanks Jomon!
I agree completely and was going to sign the petition. But sorry mate, I don't give out my email address. A first and last name should be sufficient.
What happened to the guy who jumped off the cliff filming himself?
I'm from the US, can I still sign the petition?
Yes, we have had people signing from all around the world.
You certainly can! In fact North Queensland is highly reliant on tourism, and as such their image on a global scale is very important to the area!
I see the idiots here in the NT standing up to their knees in water whilst fishing in a Billabong or a river often. As a photographer I have witnessed the explosive power of these creatures and really can't understand why these people do it.
I'm From Innisfail and anybody who knows anything about Innisfail knows the Johnson river is infested with crocodiles. But the locals have learnt how to live side by side with these incredible beasts by simply not interacting with them unless necessary and being aware if we are entering theyre territory that we need to be extremely cautious and respectful of the danger to both of us
I completely agree, common sense and a healthy dose of caution should be enough, but unfortunately a lot of folks lack that, fairly certain it was in Innisfail a few years back a young bloke was attacked showing off in front of a back packer girl?
@@WickedWildlife yea that was Innisfail, unfortunately I believe he died. My grandfather often said that the rules are made to protect the fools and the idiots. As rough as he said it he's not wrong haha
A croc should not pay the price for human stupidity it’s sad when they get shot when they have lived there for a long period of time and then have some moron intrude into there territory and they are just trying to protect there home as they also see us as a threat very unfortunate
I didn't read the headline properly but this morning I saw a guy got a 10 grand fine for catching crocs. Or something. Saw it briefly
That did happen, insane that someone’s actions that involve crocodiles being actually killed doesn’t receive a fine, but someone catching a croc taking a photo and letting it go, receives a massive fine
It’s just not consistent
I agree, our wildlife is in danger.🐺❤️
Great video. Will try and get someone to help me with the petition. I'm no good with tech and don't have Facebook or anything one my phone, but I will do the best that I can, to help. Greetings from Dimboola in Victoria.
Thanks Nancy! And I feel your pain, I had to learn Facebook and all this when we started my business but was not a child interested in technology!
@Wicked Wildlife Thanks, W.W. Means a lot to me, that you reply. I'm still learning. ❤️
@@nancycurtis7315 always happy to spare a minute for another South West local!
Tbh at first I was like, hmm idk.
But I also feel like having laws in place would prevent things like people filming themselves and if something does go wrong when someone breaks the law the reply won’t be to shoot the croc it’ll be “well they broke the law”. I don’t think laws should always stop people, nor will they, but it’s a public declaration that we have decided that the action is bad behaviour.
I agree wholeheartedly. There are some dumb people out there. They might even win the Darwin award...Lol
Its a very good idea Mate it should be already inplace but better late than never i will sign it. They say you dont need a long neck to be a Goose. Some people have no respect at all for anything. How that Dudes dog jumps to his defence gets killed for it what a shame. I hope that Bloke really loved his Dog because that would be a harsh lesson for him. It'll take for someone to be killed before it stops its russian roulette. Im goin for the Croc's.... RIP Dog'o...
Yea. They have rights . Crocodile 🐊 and sharks 🦈 u play in there place. Wow guess what happens. Not there faults
Nah cull the crocs, they’ve taken all the best swimming holes!
There is not a single swimming hole today that contains crocs that was crocodile free 100 years ago
Additionally culling is not the best solution if it’s swimming holes you want to protect, as new crocodiles move in
The territory have the right idea with places like berry springs, which are fenced off
no more regs.
seatbelt fines are a shake down.
no one injured, no crime committed.
you can't legislate against stupid!
and stop feeding crocs from boats!
let's cut to the chase, bring in a law that,
nobody gets out of bed because you could trip and hit your head on the doorknob on the way out your room.
If people could accept personal responsibility and then not demand the crocodile be shot I’d fully agree
The issue is, after every single attack we have the same knee jerk reaction
