So happy to see MonoNeon collabing with ya'll. The dude is so unique and talented. To see him next to Scofield is a dream come true for this music lover!
this band is just fabulous. I'm an all life Sco fan and here he shows how to play outside flawlessly even in a proper funk environment. That's why he is so enormously influential no matter the style. Genius guitar player.
Very well played Ryan Lerman : I always thought that tone was Scofield-exclusive ;) Once again, a big big thanks to you all, what a pleasure to chill with you guys
these sessions contains some the best work of John Scofield wich I have ever heard - thanks to the great band who makes this result possible. Vinyl has been ordered .. :-)
so great - thanks! i enjoyed john scofield so much with his different funk bands around twenty years ago. when they toured for the "überjam"-album i was so stunned by the crispy/juicy performance of this band. what a great concert (stadtgarten, cologne, summer of 2002?). and every time i thougt "this guitar solo coudn't go any better" john melted our faces off with some funky 32th-bebop-lines. we went for a beer at the "büdchen" (corner store?) in front of the venue to digest this musical explosion. half an hour later the band-leader showed up with his guitar over his shoulder and we asked him to sign our tickets. he said something like: "now the old fucker is looking for some ice-cream" while eating his magnum...
The SCO in the house!!!!! I still remember seeing this dude on my Jaco instructional VHS tape from the 80’s. Then I looked for him, and found “Blue Matter” Dennis chambers and Gary grainger on bass. So much feeling his phrasing.
The influence of The Meters has never been more overt--or as well acknowledged--as right here. I can't get enough of this group. MonoNeon is a particular revelation to me.
With oncoming technological advancements and patreon-like programs I will be waiting to be able to solo all of these instruments individually... a masterful blend!
Is the sock on MonoNeons bass there to protect us? What happens if it comes off😳 Whaaaat?? Six pack shoes, too?!? Hero status!! Plus…he’s pretty good at bass as well ❤️
Did you catch how Jack was looking to Mono to kick back into a groove at the very end? Wished that woulda happened ain't gonna lie. SUCH incredible feel from everyone in this performance.
OK I LIKED THIS AFTER ONLY 1 SEC! LOL I saw JS @BAYOU in Georgetown/DC in the late 80's with world class rhythm section: Grangier on bass/Chambers on drums!
This jam could go on forever with that lush funky groove and the ingenious out-playing from Sco... unmatched! And that Meters reminiscence ;-) I so would like to buy the record but VAT + delivery to Germany makes it pretty expensive. Any chance to get a download in the future? Not really suitiing the music but...
Scofield playing his very particular brand of phrasing, ever lyrical and evolving. Unimitable.
He’s amazing.
I’m an asshole.
It’s inimitable.
I love you and I’m sorry I’m like this
😂😂
@Jordan Chiaruttini I couldn't agree more. Well put. If it's worth doing, then it's worth imitating
@@jordanchiaruttiniREALTOR don't but you sound ok to me
The 'know' got lost somehow how about that
I like the sock, it holds all the riffs together.
Maybe the Bass Player is an endorse of a different make of Bass than the one he's using in the video?
@@craigbrowning9448 mayb a sock is just a sock
The sock did it's job, it caught your attention
1:15 Ryan's face! ... must've been awesome to be able to play with giants like this!
I know, right.. haha. The expression was like "Oh wow, Jazz!" :)
I absolutely love the drummers groove😮💨 The open hat with the ghost note on the snare is just immaculate😍
Definitely the rhythm section is to die for.
What is a ghost note?

Mononeon is from the future. Trust me
Haven't heard John in a while. He's gotten better, which is nearly impossible to imagine.

Would be cool to see these guys jam for a couple of hours.
I'm hoping they release a full set video for this once they're all out!
They have albums on Spotify & YT Music. I also created a "Goldings are Scary" playlist if you wanna look it up.
Check out our new vid haha

Sco's solo is perfect from start to finish
What a great pre Christmas gift these Scofield session,s have been, outstanding👍
Damn, what a guitar solo! Mr. Scoefield, thank you!
To me that's the most Scofield-y solo he's done with you all! So good
Nothing beats Scary Pockets with a hot cup of tea on a cold thursday morning.
I like how Jack swings so hard on and off his Rhodes. And that main riff most definitely harkens back to Cissy Strut.
The CEO of PATREON can't afford a higher stand??? Hope he doesn't develop back problems!
@@detestrian that's a whole new level of first world problems
Close, it's a Wurlitzer, the other classic piano. But yeah, Jack dances while he plays.

It's so fun to have a new favorite band again. Damn.
What an amazing tune! So funky and laid-back (as I hope my holidays get to be as well)!
The influence of The Meters has never been more overt--or as well acknowledged--as right here. I can't get enough of this group. MonoNeon is a particular revelation to me.
Love that the chart Larry's reading is basically just a blank page with the changes on it.
Another great song with legendary musicians, this is amazing. 💥💥💥
Schofield has such a recognisable style. What a brilliant player. Inspires me to practice
Bringing joy to the world, one groooovy note at a time…
The Scho man - wow. Gets to hang out with the best. Awesome job guys
Master class. Just never gets old. Huge pocket. Wowzers.
I am assuming this is a tribute to, The Meters. Amazingly well done!!
Insane to see these absolute Jazz Greats in this set! Goose bumps all over, guys!
Thanks for really great music !
Ryan’s Kalamazoo amp with the slight tremelo with the tweed super(?) stereo is stunning. Those Kalamazoo amps are killer..
That guitar tone in the beginning is like a tenor saxophone! FUNKY :)
Wow Scofield is rly big musician for me. Well played!
Scofield never gets old and always tasteful
Love it. I only wish Larry's organ was louder
Amazing! So fun watch you guys grow from emulating and exalting all of our influences to actually playing, writing and jamming with 'em!!
That was SO clean ! Damn!
MonoNeon looking resplendent as always!
Great " fade out" 😉
Oh, and great tune as well.
With oncoming technological advancements and patreon-like programs I will be waiting to be able to solo all of these instruments individually... a masterful blend!
The groove. I want to hear more of this drummer
Inspirational wow love it endless thanks to you all
Love it. Come on over to NYC. Put on a live show !!
1:16 This is greatest compliment one can receive in Jazz...
PFah Scofield KILLS it with his solo holyyyy shieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
jack i swear to god you gotta get some risers for the keys man your back will thank you later!!
He’s just using the Wurlitzer as a glorified tambourine stand anyway
Gorgeous bit of jazz/funk. Loved it a lot.
1:15 to 1:35 is Jazz Giant Status. The tension and resolve is sublime.
So great, so very great!!
Sco grooves heavy... good stuff :)
Wahoouuuu so much good vibes! We subscribe!

Dope solo by Scofield
Superbly sublime!
Good golly miss Molly this is jammin! And your sound quality and levels are perfect! I love Jack's energy. His spirit animal must be a puppy dog. ✌❤

Outstanding!
4:03 Imagine John Scofield looking at you like that. You know you did good
Alright thats it, this EXACT LINEUP MUST DO AN ALBUM IMMEDIATELY!! Doesn't get any funkier.
This whole thing, I felt it in my spine.
DUDE! This IS Awesome!!!
This is a damn cool n groovy Meters-inspired tune 😄
Yah that's the reference! And Sco fits perfectly into that in my view, so raw and groovy.
Very Cissy Struty of you guys!
damn. I needed a Mononeon solo
OK I LIKED THIS AFTER ONLY 1 SEC! LOL I saw JS @BAYOU in Georgetown/DC in the late 80's with world class rhythm section: Grangier on bass/Chambers on drums!
Same lineup at Mühle Hunziken, Switzerland!
@@BixenteFabregas which lineup, the one I mentioned?!
Is the song title a reference to The Meters? This sounds like it could be inspired by their music.
Yeah that's almost surely exactly what it is.
Groovy, tasty, amazing!
Wow, I’m late to the party. Someone just hipped me to these guys. Dooope.
groovy as hell.. LOVE IT
yeah yeah !
Was thinking; sounds a bit like Cissy Strut? Then I saw the title. Duh. Freakin loved it. 🕺🏿🕺🏿🕺🏿
Beautiful.

Really Nice guitar riff!
"Meter's Running"- I see what you did there. ;-)
Love this so much
