If you're using external speakers or a headset then you will be fine. Remember to remove Asus Game First 3 app because it fucks up the nvidia geforce experience. Absolutely not. Raises the screen up nicely away from the illuminated keyboard. Good thick bezel especially at night. But this is Gen 1 the silver is shit, gen 2 is black.

3 months late, but IMO I think MSI is better. The only issue with MSI I heard is the wifi is bad, so if you're going to be using a lan cable, go for the MSI. That is, if you haven't already bought it. Honestly though, I think the Alienware is the best because its essentially future proof. While it does get hot often, and cheaper models don't have SSD's (Important imo), it is pretty good. So alienware (gtx 970) with an SSD and alienware amp = best option. With the AW amp you can buy a GTX 980 TI, and have the laptop switch to that GPU. Also, you can always buy external coolers. Very costly, but worth it if you save up specifically for an SSD and AW Amp.

+Koren honestly just save up a bit more and get this one, you're only 540$ off to getting it and it really is a great laptop, never had a complaint about this laptop, runs everything pretty great no matter what game I throw at it, and it even has a 75hz monitor meaning you get an extra 15FPS there which is really great if you're looking for that silky smooth gaming :)
m.2 is basically a better version of SSD's. They're capable of storing higher capacity of storage. They're also tiny, so that means they can fit in any laptop. (obviously) In the near future most SSD's will be m.2. The only issue is some motherboards don't have m.2 slots, so nvme drives will always stick around.
People that buy these high end "gaming" laptops need to understand something. If you don't like your included storage options, then change them. Your spending $1500 ish on a laptop? then spend $300 more and get the 950 pro from samsung. Stop complaining about nvme speeds when you get the slowest nvme from the manufacturer. I just ordered the absolute stripped out model g752vl-dh71 from xotic pc. had them strip every storage option out and memory option out. purchased 64GB of 2800 memory and a samsung 950 pro from newegg and the killer networks n1535 highest end wifi card from ebay for $30. if your going to own a powerhouse laptop then own it, max it out. after all its what you wanted in the first place. if not then buy a low end acer/hp/dell and quit complaining.
+Clayton Lusk I've got a Tigernu bag for a 17" laptop and i'd really recommend them. Although it doesnt leave much for other stuff once its stuffed w/ the laptop, its got a clean tight design that sort of hides the monster you'll keep inside. That is of course because i'd avoid getting one of those bulky gaming laptop bags that just shout to the world "HEY IVE GOT $2000 IN HERE!"

nope, that's just having bad luck. happends with any screen, most of the times you can just ignore it though

The sharp border where you rest your the palm after a while it make your hand hurt. The problem I'm having is the mic keep muting itself.
You can eliminate the border by placing the laptop ontop of a laptop cooler that points the ass upwards.
