Hopefully Netflix don't keep doing things like this going forward because it will just make their movies and shows impossible to talk about. i think she named both of them in her head from the beginning but she called them boy and girl because she thought she will lose them in any moment and she didn't want to be more attached to them, but when they made it safe she called them with their names.

Who else would have thought the movie was ten times better if Tom survived with them?
Tucker Ali yeah, I think his death was stupid, like what’s the point of killing a main character. The whole movie felt weird, it felt like I just skipped too the middle of it.
Me. I liked it but he was such a good guy. I wanted them to be a family.
There's only three birds in the box
Its like Train to Busan all over again 😭 why do good dads die in every movie I watch?
John Malvokich should have survived. He was the only one right about everything. Tom let in Olympia, and Tom and Olympia let in the Spaniard who ultimately destroyed that home colony. Tom doomed them.
Ok, Tom was badass, but the birds that Malerie kept for survival were super badass. How they managed to survive the rapid current when their boat tipped over was surprising. Go birds.
I thought the same thing...or when they tumbled down hills, etc.
I was thinking the same thing they should have drowned in the box
Genioa TP they didn’t have a choice, poor things
How do we know birds are immune? What if the birds saw it and now they are gonna infect all the birds in the sanctuary and all the birds will kill themselves and the rest of the birds will kill the blind people

I just want to know three things..
1. Where Lucy and Felix went?
2. How Malorie along with Tom and the two kids managed to escape from Douglous's house?
3. How Dr. Lapham reached the school of blind?
1. They probably went to the store for the sake of living as a brand new couple until they died because of the trap from crazy people.
2. This is also not clear enough but that’s not Douglous’ house, but Greg’s (the one that died seeing the unseen things on the computer).
3. Good question. She probably reached the school after struggling a lot just like Malorie and the kids.

I would like to point out that the real MVPs in this movie were the three parakeets. They nearly starved in the store, would have frozen to death in the freezer, faced drowning in the river, and were tossed around and possibly faced the threat of being crushed when the family was running. They deserve a happy ending.
That's why it's called the bird box.

Three parakeets 3 people survive i don’t think that’s a coincidence
@@jamilcharles9654 it would've been better if the movie gave us 4 then killed one
They did. They were set free
The best part for me was when even though the creature got to tom and took over his mind forcing him to create that suicidal mentality , with a gun in his hand , he shot the man that was going towards malorie and the kids before shooting himself. His love for her was so great that he had to make sure that they were safe first . You can see he truly struggled and it touched something in me . Tom is the real mvp .🤙🏾
ikr!! tom was my favourite character and its always the likeable ones that die, generally a heroic death tho but a death nonetheless
Wouldn’t really call it suicidal. The entity makes its host kill their self once they see it. It’s also an urban legend..
I cried so much at that part. Tom was my favorite 😭
cammie g. well the entity that forced them to commit suicide then .
shameless promo cause he’s black right? He was lucky to even make it so close to the end 😂
Douglas was such an intelligent and underrated character.
I feel like each character had something to teach us. Douglas was the most practical and rational, but he was too bad at communicating and getting people to agree with him. Instead of explaining and making better decisions, he antagonized everyone, took things in his own hands - even pointing the gun and threatening everyone. He could've been a leader, but got no chill and forgot we are a social species.
Olympia was just, OH MY GOD.
Tom was strong and had a badass ending but he was too good and caused problems for being so trusting.
All of the characters were incredibly stupid for leaving Greg unsupervised and ten times dumber for trusting Gary so easily. I mean, really? Not even a trial period? Some trick questions to check if he was alright? C'mon.
In the end, Mal and the kids deserved to survive the most, imo. Mal was good but not too dumb, and used her opportunities to learn and be a great decision-maker, for the most part. She was awsome at training the kids, and both of them were fast-learners and did well, except for when they separated from each other after Mal fell, that was stupid.
The cop and MGK, well, I think it fits that they weren't shown. First, it fits Mal and Doug's conversation about assholes. So we're left to wonder what happens to them. I believe they haven't survived. Either ran out of food or were killed by the crazies, or even anything else, since they left the group and probably didn't have the skills to survive other challenges alone.
Just watched this movie for the first time and I couldn't agree more. Doug was trash and incredibly selfish. I wouldn't have listened to him either and I was happy they knocked his ass out. However, I definitely agree that everyone was dumb as fuck for leaving the new guy unattended. Like they didn't even know the full extent of the creatures and after the super market visit, you would think they would've thought about trusting people before falling for them. I get everyone was rushing to help with a DOUBLE labor but, STILL. Someone should've stayed downstairs with them.
When Gary whipped out them pictures. I knew. Smh.

In the book, the monsters were actually just really passive and didn't mean to cause people to kill themselves. Also at the end, it was far more morbid, being just a group of blind people and those who cut out their eyes holed up in a hospital.
Was that it? I read the book and I thought that was just a theory Mallory thought about the creatures, but wasn't confirmed.
Olympia made me so mad because of her stupidity of letting that guy in and LOOKING UP
The black dude would have let him in anyway, but she is a dumbo through and through

Perfect Gymnastics he was the one who was most suited to survive. In a post apocalyptic world, unless you are in a situation where you have unlimited food, have good weapons etc. you shouldn’t help anyone but those who you trust. I know it’s cruel but...
I agree. Bald dude knew smthn was wrong wit the new guy whn the new guy mentioned the birds. Baldy probably had an inner monologue sayin "Its the apocalypse - no one gvs a dang abt birds but dis mf dnt like birds? Why? Yep im an a.hole but my spider senses r tingling. "
In the original, the novel. In the end it's not a home for the blind but a group of people who deliberately blinded themselves for safety but Netflix changed it, cause they wanted it to be more of a optimistic ending
That's interesting! Thanks for the addition.
@@ThinkStory Also all the other survivors died before in the novel, Tom survived more than he needed to and also the animals could see and get crazy like the humans but that didn't happened with the birds whn they got out of the shop.

Ok, they don't want to show the creature, that's cool, I could live with that. However, they should have defined what it was. I don't need to see it, but I'd like to know definitely what it was and where it came from. They could have, and should have, done that!
The “Creature” consists of your own mental health battles. The “demons” we face in regards to mental health. This film will be hard to relate to for people that haven’t suffered from chronic depression or experienced severe anxiety disorder 💯
The monster can actually transform itself into your worst fears. Nobody knows what the actual monster looks like, because it only shows itself in ones inner fears. So it’s be imposible to show what the monster looked like, though, there has been a leak on what the monster would’ve looked like to Malorie specifically.

@@thomascansino6583 yeah these movie have great concepts but it's like they failed at using the full potential
Jay Paid thats what i kinda dont like when netflix makes movies. They always have good concepts in their movies but somehow only reveals little parts of it and not what the story would be at its full potential.
There were two emotional parts that were my favorite. The first one where Tom managed to kill the enemies, despite seeing the entity. And the second where Malerie thought about choosing her adopted daughter "girl" to look when passing the current, but decided that a mother would never choose which child should be sacrificed no matter biological/adopted.
That part that got me is where sandra Bullock gave the children names...it truly showed that she completely loves and cares for them both
I 100% agree with you!
I almost broke down when she was apologizing to "girl" for not letting Tom finish the story, and as she was telling her what the story was "girl" walked to her and the hugged.

There is one part of the movie that seemed huge to me.
When the babies are born, the "evil" man comes upstairs, calls Girl "beautiful", but when he sees Boy he just says, "thank you". He then opens up the windows, stating the evil outside is "beautiful".
That was such a huge part of the movie for me.
Also, ther creatures wasnt a creature it was evil in general taking over the world, the good people die in its presence, the evil ones loves it. It's that simple.
In the book the creatures weren't "evil". They were passive and didn't mean to cause people to kill themselves.

She didn't give her kids names or make them call her mom cause of the creatures/demons, so that the monster couldn't call them by names or manipulate them like it tried with her and the others that ended dead.
But they were manipulating the kids. In the forest. They were getting them to take their blindfolds off.
Yes but it didn't called them from names, it was trying to get to them as malorie voice, like it was her talking to them. , anyway is just a theory i made in my mind.
jorge Reveron That’s still a form of manipulation.
I believe she didn’t give them names because she’s afraid to get attached. Like she was in the doctors office pondering adoption. She didn’t wanna give them names because she was scared of being attached and losing them.
Technically their names were Boy and Girl. So they would have called them Boy and Girl and the kids wouldn't have thought anything weird of it.
Also, they did try to reach out to the kids by telling them it was okay to remove the blindfold (as Mallory) which both kids did almost fall for it. Sorry to poke holes in your logic and ruin your idea hahaha

But i do wish they would have explained where they came from and why
Kay Jack true
@Josh Sanders this was based on a novel
YoungSavage1738 what’s the novels name ?
@Da Shadow Assassin ah shit
I watched this movie yesterday and for some reason I felt like this movie was a warning about not opening "the third eye" as that unseen side could take control over your body and mental health once you tap into it. This idea of mine isn't based on much though.
//Now I'll check out what this video thinks.
I agree leaving things to our imagination is scary.
Maybe they didn't come from anywhere but have always existed and humanity is starting to develop better senses for unknown reasons; sabotage for hidden agendas. Or evolution or something.
6:57 those pictures creeped me tf out lol
Cthulu
8:22 we're in the endgame now
As soon as i saw the dude's wife get in the burning car I figured this movie would be interesting
Janina Rojo it’s his wife
Janina Rojo The bald guy clearly said the lady who went to the car was his wife. 3rd wife to be exact.
blank huh it was his daughter? The daughter saw her dead mom and thats why she got into the car (douglas’ 3rd wife)
@@elisa-3633 that was his wife he said it in the movie
Was not his wife, his last wife died 10 years ago
I am so angry no one's listened to Douglas. Yes, he was an asshole, but he was right about pretty much everything and if they had listened to him, all the survivors in the house would have lived (for a bit longer at least).
Truu
I loved Douglas at the end
douglas is pascal sauvage in johnny english ..thats why i think his face is familiar to me
lol not all of them just the ones that made to the shopping center
Šimon Očkáš that’s is the story goes don’t complain
I’m not a big fan of sequels, but I am so excited for a second one. There’s so much potential in this world and its monsters.
I must say you really did a great job breaking this film down. I really like your take and now want to see it! I usually don't follow the heard.
I loved how Tom was hitting on Malorie when she was pregnant 😂
ScarlettP that was creepy for me hitting on a pregnant woman.
Didn't even ask where the dad was. I'm not shocked though. Lol
It was the end of the world, you can’t be picky
He wanted some milk
Tom know pregnant Pussy bomb af
Imagine how badass daredevil would be in this situation
Lucky Ducky lol
Super badass but to make even better if team up with doctor strange. Those two together could win and defeat the demons
Delvin Espinal yass. Doctors strange’s coat of levitation would mess everyone up
YOOOOO I WAS THINKING ABOUT THAT TOO
oml I’ve found my people
Congrats on the 10M views!!

Toms death was sad but at the same time it was epic how he shot 5 psychos💯🔥
"Ah, Fuck it." *takes off blindfold*
He did say he was in the military
No he shotted 6 psycho like the last time he shotted that baby killer artist with a Shot gun
And he was already taken over by the creatures that’s the part that was like damn !!
I so badly wanted Tom to survive. For once I’d like all the good characters to make it. Still an awesome move that made me cry, and I don’t usually do that. Ever.
Am i the only one who loved it when malorie screamed "do not take my children!" Dang
winter soldier it made me smile, when i was terrified... so yeah, I loved it too
me too
I loved it, she went all mama bear
Favorite part!
i felt like i was her in that scene, her anguish, fear and love all in her voice)
Thanks for the explanation.

I need a movie of what happened to the “couple” that escaped
Yowww 😂
They r prolly dead
Ikr! 😂
He went on to clap back at Eminem with rap devil 😂
I’ve read someone where that they really didn’t have an idea what to do with that couple, so they left it open for us viewers to make up our own ending to what happened to them. Like keeping the discussion always open
SO WHAT IF IM THE MONSTAAAAAAAAAAH?
lol
Then you're safe 😄

“Starring Sarah Paulson” literally was in the movie for 10 minutes lol
And yet she acted the hell out of her 10 minutes
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 Yuck.
@@wiinterflowers4277 What. The. Heck.
For a Netflix original, this movie had me on the edge of my seat worried about the actual characters especially malorie and her children
Same I just finished it right now TBH I cried

Brilliant. Best explanation of this movie's message.
I thought forsure girl was going to have to open her eyes. Lowkey was hurt when she said she'd be the lookout
Light Work same :(
Yeah, I think she realised that Malorie wanted her to look but didn’t want to say it.
I like her acting, her expressions really shows she's hurting.
I was mad cause she didn’t give those kids names but I’m glad she did at the end of the movie but overall the movie was amazing
Mei Rose I loved it and that's weird to say bc I usually don't like these newer movies that much
pisses me off she named her Olympia. *CINDERELLA OR ELLA FOR SHORT*
edit:
1. her names Olympia, not Olivia ¿
2. It didn’t actually piss me off but idk i think she should have honored her mother’s wishes.
alicia birdy yessssssss!!!!!
alicia birdy factsss when she said “Ima name you...” i said CINDERELLA, but ella for short but she named her fucking olympia 🤦🏽♀️ And then when she looked at the boy i was like yeah you better name him tom 😂
