- The Teslasuit is a full body haptic VR suit that let's you touch and feel virtual reality, has full body motion capture, climate control and biometry systems.
It looks like this company is making Ready Player One a reality since the Teslasuit is very similiar to the X-1 Boot Suit that Wade Watts (Parzival) is wearing in the movie.
The Teslasuit let's you feel heat, cold but also let's you experience the interaction of getting touched or hit by something. This would be the ultimate gear to jump into the Oasis and get haptic feedback.

@GameBoy Hard to say, it's still 3-4 years' work, the global suppliers price may and will change at least twice.

Teslasuit it has been my dream to try one of these I’m so excited when it releases!
So we have the full suit, varies headsets, even multi-directional treadmills. we already have almost everything. All we need now is a badass piece of content software and boom RP1 Oasis. Actually we have that too, a few tweaks and polishing to VRchat it can easily be the Oasis, just need some big money to invest. Damn so close yet so far.

Exactly. He's like "this is way before 2045!" like there's nothing left to do... Meanwhile this is just getting started. Not even consumer available, let alone ubiquitous or affordable... Or even all that great (~60 sensors?? Try 60 per inch...) -- The future is coming guys. 👍

Barely a few years ago the 6 degrees of movement didn't really exist or at least wasn't accessible to the public until htc came out with it. We're getting there at an incredibly fast pace.

Ready Player One is slowly becoming a reality.
And once that happens, everybody will be wanting to get their hands on VR.
Cost will kill its sales. For it to be marketable in the future, 6dof, OLED and haptic as minimum is going to be expensive as fk.

@@MrRourk It has 10 - covering legs, arms, 2x at the back. Head is known from an HMD. This is enough. Add gloves to it and we're game! By the time the content will be finished, we will have gloves too! ;)
Sweet although I believe VR chat only supports the head, 2 hand, and 3 other trackers. The other 3 are usually 1 hip and 2 feet.

Technology advances fast, the first pc was invented in 1975 and needed an entire room now we have little compact towers that sit next to our small monitors with keyboards and mouses instead of switches and buttons. I wouldn't be surprised if everything in Ready Player One was invented before 2040.

Well i think they wouldn't allow the suit to go over some treshold maybe like 40°celsius would be max and 15°celsius minimum or something like that so people wouldn't be freezed or burned to death and i expect it would be same with the punches and kicks and all that stuff so people wouldn't actually get really hurt

New technolgy is allways for the wealthy first. Eventually vr will become cheap enough for the every man like all tech.
This combined with those gloves that let you feel things with your hands would be insane. Only thing thing I wish is that there'd be some kind of constraints that would make it so you can't move your hand through objects. By that I mean, if you were holding a rock, you wouldn't be able to squeeze your hand into a fist, it will only let you move your hands around the dimensions of the rock, making it really feel like you're holding on object

It can be very dangerous when you think of it, people can make it a punishing equipment, or take control over other people’s body. Like in black mirror, I think the last episode - that thing you put on someone’s head and can feel what he feels. You can also take it the the medic world to cure sensation and muscles problems

Really cool but could become a serious risk with hacking and whatnot, just imagine just playing some VR and your muscles are now randomly moving against your will. Then again the would probaly have extreme measures to prevent this from happening.

There is something like this at my local arcade it has these vibration things and pressure things that made it super realistic and terrifying, I didn’t know what it was so when a zombie scratched me and I felt it in game it freaked me out. Arcade was called coin crazy in case anyone wanted to know.

This is awesome, but introduces more terrifying cyber threats. Granted, this would most likely be in the future, but it's still scary to think that someone can take control of your body while in this suit. Just a thought for years to come, and something of a warning against extremely talented hackers.

Honestly, if this gets released while I'm still in the Army, and we actually adopt this, I think people would enjoy training, and everyone would get proper combat training.
