Just saw them the other night and they're even better than ever before! I got to talk to Billy for a minute too. And NAUSEA is probably my favorite X song too, when they played that the other night I was just in a frenzy! Thanks for another amazing Rock'N'Roll tale about one of my very favorite L.A. bands, must have been really cool meeting them all those times & sounds like such a fun night. 👍😎👍
I interviewed Don from the Germs, Geza X, Keith Morris, & Stan Lee/Dickies on my other RUclips channel ( thechurchofrock) I don't think the Germs are playing anymore since Lorna died tho. But hey! Thank YOU for commenting & subscribing. I appreciate you
"X" always puts on a good show. I always have fun and John seems so laid back and just takes his time, unlike many "famous" musicians we've had the good fortune of meeting.
I was going to go see X play during SXSW a few years ago, but I couldn't make it for some reason (work, etc.). That was the night that some psycho ran over a bunch of people with his car. I would have been pretty close to where that happened. sheesh. Still haven't seen X live.
Billy builds and repairs vintage tube audio gear (amps etc.) He also plays the Flute, Clarinet, Hammond B3 and more. His dad was a professional jazz musician. Billy sits down because he had both knees replaced. Michael "Alabama Mike" Kilpatric" played drums and acoustic guitar on that tour. Great stories Bloody! Keep em' coming. It's like talking to an old friend about music.
I AM a fan of those guys! [so too am I of thee] Gotta love Wild gift/Los Angeles But Under The Big Black Sun is some of the best songwriting - one can find. Should be noted, as one roams the wild. [I AM after all The Hungry Wolf]
I saw X in 05. I was out front of the bar, a few hours before, and I had a GG shirt on. They were walking around downtown Lexington KY and as soon as they walk by John and the others were like you ready for the show? Exene immediately raised a binder (like the old trapper keepers lol) to cover her face and I said joking I can still see you in like a whisper with my hand covering my face. She let down the cover and gave me a shitty look. An hour later they walked back and I got autographs when John went to pass to ex I said no I didn't need hers. After the show I did talk to her and she signed it. I'm glad to hear others noticed her standoffish behavior. Love ya BFM
Also I like it's not heavily edited. We all know you are a music expert and can forget shit. I feel like it's a natural conversation and enjoy this format.
Well she's a poet. That's all I can say. I wasn't put off by it amigo... I was just reporting the facts, ya know? Thanx 4 YOUR tale!!! Much appreciated 🙂
Another winning story Bloody. I still get a kick watching john Doe Get his ass kicked/ then wacked by Swayze in roadhouse. Never knew Billy Zoom had bladder cancer. As someone who has battled that myself and lost an old bandmate to it I can certainly relate. Keep them coming bro.
Always loved X. Los Angeles is one of my favorite albums of all time. Their dedication for playing live and touring all these years is admirable. I might be wrong , but is that a Hanoi Rocks CD behind all your X cds? It looks just like the Rose they always used. I think Mike's tattoo? Anyway, just an observation. I always like looking at all the music and art you set up behind your videos. Another banger Bloody. Cheers brudder
Hi bro It's the Hanoi 7" that comes with the ALL THOSE WASTED YEARS book! I got both aa a gift 2 days ago! Pink vinyl!!!! Hanoi Rocks Rools!! Cheers & I appreciate ya
@@BloodyFMess aww shit! I thought it looked familiar. I actually have that. Amazing book. I was jazzed when they finally translated it to English. Brilliant outtake of Pretender and Kill City Kills. 2 of my favorite tunes. Very cool
YO! I'm a member of the band *_GANG DATE._* Our singer said he emailed you, told me you were rad, turned me on to the channel, & I LOVE your stories! My folks were in the LA scene in the late 70s-80s & were X's neighbors for a time. My late father didn't have a lot of positive things to say bout punk rock (prolly cuz of all the darkness/tragedy) but he always said how nice X were as neighbors, cool to do laundry with, & spoke highly of them. If you wanna hear some contemporary LA Valley Outlaw Country/Folk/Punk Rock check out Gang Date. We're everywhere & constantly puttin out new stuff. Any-who, keep doin' what your doin' Bloody!
Well damn! What killer info my new friend. Loving the band name & I 110% will check out your band!!! I appreciate that info. Pretty cool stuff dude!!!
