A few points:
1. Don't wag your finger at me.
2. Buy some wood glue.
3. Don't attach something to the wall with nails. Learn what screws are, and how to use them.
4. You can just buy screw-in metal hooks from any hardware store. They cost a couple of cents each, are much easier to attach, and don't look like utter crap.
5. If you sand and stain *before* attaching the hardware it's much easier, and won't look as much like a blotchy, spotty, mess.
