Good video. I did not know about this. I thought that no matter the rating they had the same chance of becoming successful. It make since that family movies will be more successful because a wider audience watches it.
Highly recommend the documentary This Film is Not Yet Rated. It provides a fascinating history of the MPA, the (often-inconsistent and religiously-motivated) rationales behind its ratings, and the people who've traditionally served on its rating board (e.g., Catholic priests). What's fascinating is that I've heard that "G" is now considered box office poison in the industry, too, so movies that would've been "G" have taken to adding a bit of strategic spiciness so they can get a PG or PG-13.

That documentary is fantastic! Barry had recommended I watch it before the interview and it was very entertaining and informative. :)
