Literally my only gripe with this episode is how the boys lose. They didn't get outclassed because they were inexperienced with their powers or because they couldn't coordinate as well, they lost to cooties. There were so many simple ways to write the ending and they chose the most ridiculous possible outcome.
What if in an alternate timeline, this episode did end with RRBs winning and celebrating(although, the girls' still survived, but decided to get a rematch next time; none of the kooties nonsense whatsover)? And if the boys returned in every episode between Seasons 1-6(but still in their original designs and personalities)? How'd the majority of the series have been like?
They really should have and would have if it weren’t for Ms. Bellum. Their more powerful and stronger than the girls it’s just the girls are smarter is the problem
Tbh tho, there are some good fics out there that ship the PPG and RRB together, that acknowledge their colored history, but add a redemption arc for the boys. Of course they're too young in the cannon show to have any sort of feelings for one another, but most fics take place with them as teens or even young adults, and by then, who knows how much they would change as people, especially after puberty. ^^; Imo, to explain the boy's turn around, you can kinda break it down like the ending of Bambi, when he and his friends are all grown up, promise bros before hoes, and then immediately after, one by one, find girlfriends. ^^; The idea is kinda like that, but each fic does their own thing with the RRB, basically using the girls as a template for their personalities, and flip them to a more masculine bent with an edge to them, because they were born to be evil. Nothing is truly cannon about how their personalities could turn out in the future, and so that makes any interpretation of how they could grow up to be plausible, meaning writers can have quite a bit of wiggle room for how they want their version to be like, and give them a reason to be the way they are. My favorite interpretation of Brick is when he is forced to grow up faster then his brothers in order to take care of them, because both Mojo and Him are bad care takers, and so this gives him a unique dynamic with his brothers in which he acts as both their father and their brother, as well as their leader, giving a lot of depth to his character that would likely never be present in the actual show. And there's often so much more to Brick's character that I've seen people add that just make him very interesting to read about, far too many to list here. And not just him, but his brothers too! Boomer's my favorite, and the kinds of things I've seen people do with him are just really incredible! My favorite interpretation of him is when he could be argued to be the most powerful Ruff, yet he has an inferiority complex, given to him by his brothers at a young age, making him believe that he is dumber and weaker than he really is. Gives him something to work through, and something to relate to with Bubbles, i.e., always feeling inferior to their respective siblings, and like they don't matter as much. The Baby Blues you could say. ^^; It's really quite fascinating the direction some people have taken their characters, and so I'd really recommend you check some out. I even have some more specific recommendations of titles if you're interested. Sorry to gush, it's just I've been on a Powerpuff binge the past couple of months because there's just so much content to read through, and so many good stories, much more than I thought when I decided to revisit thisFandom, and I just wanted to share. ^^; Yeah, there are definitely more bad fics than good, I won't deny, but I've found some real gems that I wish more people would become aware of. So, sorry for the impromptu essay, but I hope I could make you reconsider your thoughts on Powerpuff fanfics. ^^;
I feel this episode should have been a two-parter. It would have been much better if it ended on a cliffhanger and leave the viewers on the edge of their seats curious what would happen next. The second part especially should have replaced Uh Oh Dynamo as the season 1 finale, because the latter episode wasn't that great, and honestly, it should have been reduced to just 11 minutes to eliminate filler.
1:17 Considering the narrator broke down in tears at the sight of the PPG defeated in the episode, it'll make sense to use the Twisted Sister ending instead where he's crying, trying to do the outro, (replacing Bunny with the girls instead)
All the citizens of Townsville crying when they thought the three died in that episode honestly was quite disturbing and especially sad to me on my first watch.
Yeah it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the average girl is obviously weaker than the average guy. The most strongest female martial artist is weaker than her male counterpart. Same thing with the PPG vs RRB. That's basic biology.

They beat the power puff girls up pretty badly in the canon end, and the power puff girls don’t beat up the boys, only coddle them a bit. To feel so insecure that you’d “watch this over and over” and be obsessed with an alternate violent ending of a show for little girls is a bit psychotic.
