Some of my favorite flower macros were taken with sun shining on the flowers. The shadows cast by the stamens and stigma can add interest, detail, depth even.
My doubt is which Lightroom for iPhone, I have to get, can you also explain to me how to use Lightroom? I just bought the Sandmarc lenses, but I don't like the ProCam.
If you want to use Lightroom Camera, you can download it here: apps.apple.com/us/app/lightroom-photo-video-editor/id878783582 Currently, we don't have a lesson on how to use Lightroom Camera. But if you are looking for lessons on how to edit with that app, you can check out our iPhone Editing Academy Course here: iphone.to/iea-s Let us know if you have any questions.
It is possible. For that, we recommend focus stacking. Take a photo of the foreground, middle ground and background. Once done, you can merge them using a third party software such as lightroom to merge the photos and get the result you are looking for. :)
Hi there, Macro Photography is available on the PRO models. However, you can use attachable lenses to do Macro Photography with the iPhone 13. We recommend lenses from Moment and Sandmarc for better results.
He is amazing ! I love all the photography instructional videos from IPhone Phtotography School. I purchased the Macro lens which isn't easy to use because of the movement but Emil explains it so well that I am going to try using the lens again. The camera app, position of the lens, the right settings and lighting condition is what made this video special. Thank you Emil
that was concise, calming, informative. just really top notch video. when you had the bug at that further angle with the stem of the plant blurring out away from the camera as a video, that was really good. did you use the iphone for that too? how?
We used a digital camera to capture the scene of the bug on the stem, but it is possible to get the same effect with the iPhone and its macro feature. :)
Hello just came across your channel thanks for the valuable information I went to the Sandmarc site and they have 2 macro lenses. ( 25MM and a 100MM ) which would you recommend I intentions it to used exactly as on your video mostly for closeups of flowers / nature
What's the base model phone you're starting with here mate? Looking at iPhones 13 Pro-through-15 Pro trying to research if it's possible to get by without buying add-on lenses :)
We used an iPhone 11 PRO in this video, but our course is compatible with all iPhone models! The iPhone Photo Academy will help you to take better photos! Hello what Gimble or Rig for the IPhone 14 Pro Max would you recomend in the market now to use to take to take Macro ( i already ordered the Sandmarc Macro lence 10mm) I also saw the they have a grip and a rig for i phone. I like to do pictures and small videos in macro I ask mostly for the stabilization and not having to touch the screen to take a pic or record any suggestion to use any of these gadets? thank you!
The DJI Osmo gimbal is a great option. You can use it for both videos and photographs. Here's the link to learn more about that product: www.amazon.com/DJI-Smartphone-Stabilizer-Extension-ShotGuides/dp/B0B7XD7R43/

What is the model of this IP? Since IP13pro the wide angle câmera has autofocus and works like a macro lens too. The phone knows you are trying a macro and adjust focus. In the screen the traditional macro logo appears.
Emil used an iPhone 11 PRO in this video. The newer devices have an improved macro capabilities. However, if you want to get even closer, we recommend the Moment or Sandmarc lenses.
I just bought the Pro Can, when Emil started to set the configurations The first thing he does is Set the Image stabilization, mine doesn't show it. After UI Color the first thing that shows is : Manual Focus Assist. Is that the same or not?
I have the iPhone 14 Pro, and though macro mode gets you closer than ever before, you cannot get near as close as with a 10x add on lend he shown in the video, I am considering getting a macro lens.
It’s not the low light causing this , it’s the obstruction over the main sensor tricking the iPhone into thinking you need macro (wide angle) mode… go into settings and enable “macro control” in the camera settings this will let you disable auto switching of the lenses and you can still use the default app and choose which lens you want to use.
there's another issue in my pro can, The image still shows a black area, after I did all the procedures that he told us to do. changing for 2X, I could get the image without the black area
Thank you! I learned so much from your videos! Bought macro lens & Apps to make my macro photos look great! I get comments from social media friends asking what kind camera I am using!🥰🌺🤙🏽
Great to have you back in front and behind the camera 👍🏼 I have a question though. If you have an iPhone with the build in Macro lens, do you even need to buy a Macro lens to attach to your iPhones camera? I’ve taken some of the most beautiful and stunning photos where I’m all the way inside a flower and they turned out amazing and the look up feature could even identify the species of flower 🌸
The newer iPhone Pro models have great macro capabilities, but if you want to magnify your focus distance even more, you can definitely use a macro lens to get close-up shots. :)
We used an iPhone 11 PRO to teach this lesson, but we plan to updated it in the future. And yes! You are right, the newer macro lenses from Apple can create stunning results. However a lens attachment is still recommend should you still need to get closer to your subject :)
Hummmm🤔Which iPhone is he using?…because…I have the iPhone 13 ProMax…which has a micro camera capabilities natively on the phone…so…will I still need those micro lenses?…
Emil used an iPhone 11 PRO. The newer models have better macro capabilities. You can get as close as 2cm, but if you want to get even closer, then an attachable lens form Moment or Sandmarc will be a great option.
There are different ways to achieve that. You can get close to your subject and focus on them, use Portrait Mode, or use third party apps like Focos to get blurry backgrounds on your images. :)
THANK YOU !!! I’ve been looking for this type of video ! My husband offered me accessories like macro for Mother’s Day. Now I’ll be able to try with your great tips 😜🥳🥳
That’s one thing I dislike about the native camera app, when it does not use the lens you selected sometimes. You’d expect if you chose the 2x lens, it will use that. That’s what the Black Magic app does properly.
You can get as close as two centimeters with the latest PRO models. If you wish to get even closer, we recommend using an attachable lens to get better results.
Yeah after a very long time , good to have him back 👋🤙
I recommend Emil’s IPhone Photography course, makes everything so much easier.
Some of my favorite flower macros were taken with sun shining on the flowers. The shadows cast by the stamens and stigma can add interest, detail, depth even.
I purchased the Iphone Photo Academy course several years ago. It has been one investment. Always something new to learn. Thank you Emil!
This is why macrophotography is my favorite type of photography. It's just a whole 'nother world.
Yeah i love macro that why i choosed iPhone 14 Pro 🐞🍀
Welcome back, Emil 😊
Bentornato Emil, ottimo video e spiegato in maniera esemplare 👏🏻🔝

Wow! that macro lens is amazing! Where is the best place to get one and what is the cost?
You can find it here:
www.shopmoment.com/products/macro-lens
Which ProCam app is used here? There seems to be more than one in the Apple App Store. Which developer?
We recommend ProCam8. Here's the link you can use to find it in the App Store

What is the minimum focal distance on each of the lenses on the iPhone 15?
Nice information. was helpfull
Another fantastic video Emil. Thank you 🙏
Re Macro, I’m have it built into my 14Pro model. Does it deliver similar results to the aftermarket lens?
Sandmarc's or Moment macro lenses will help you to get even closer to your subjects :)
A really helpful video (as ever) but I have a question, please. Is there a way to take a macro shot with the background also in focus?
It is possible. For that, we recommend focus stacking. Take a photo of the foreground, middle ground and background. Once done, you can merge them using a third party software such as lightroom to merge the photos and get the result you are looking for. :)

Anyone had solution for Iphone 13 base model cannot do macro photography? 😫😭

thank you for your reply, but this very sad when no one stated it on iphone camera review 🥲@@iPhone_Photography_School
Does this macro lens work better than the iPhone 15pro max camera macro feature?
It does! It helps to get even closer to your subjects. :)

I just use my Huawei P60 Art. It does close up macro without any extra lens. There is nothing special about an iphone other than snob appeal.
It's been awhile emil,welcome back bro 😊
Will this work with a base iphone 14 model
Right now I have 11 pro Max. I have a question: can I follow this course with 11 pro Max ?

I agree! I like his way of explaining

Great Job, I love taking macros, now with the iPhone 14 ProMax has a built in macro lens. The phone goes into macro mode when you get really close
I have the 14 Pro Max as well. Yes you can get some incredible close-ups! ☺
I can get all the way up to my skin and see small dirt it’s nasty
Thank you. You are so generous with your knowledge.
You are very welcome! We are glad you found it helpful! :)
This is so awsome
What iphone model are you using?
Emil used an iPhone 11 PRO in this demonstration :)
I have not been watching lately because I was recovering from knee replacement surgery. I am anxious to start.
Hope that your recovery was amazing and that you are back to moving around freely.❤
Great video! It’s nice to see someone not caught up in all the manual settings on these fancy camera apps. Keep up the good work
This channel is unbelievable and a gold mine of informations.
Very good video quality
Thanks for your comment! We appreciate it :)
My name KaKaRy, I’m from Cambodia 🇰🇭 I have learned a lot from your videos. Really appreciate for your sharing good tips.❤

Mine doesn't either. I did however see "Anti-shake Sensitivity" so I'm going to use that one.
Is this macro fits on IPhone 14 Pro, please?
Yes, it does. :)
Is it true the iPhone 15ProMax will have a built in macro? Just a rumor?
Most likely. The newest iPhone Pro modes have a Macro feature built-in already. :)
Maco have iPhone 13 pro 14 pro ( better then iPhone 13 Pro ) and iPhone 15 pro
Can’t find the links to the lenses case etc ?
You can find Moment's cases here:
www.shopmoment.com/search?q=cases&filter-brands=moment&page=1
How did you shoot macro in an old model? In the old models there is no option for macro photography
You can use third party macro lenses from Moment or Sandmarc to take macro shots with older devices.
Is this forest in Jurmala, Latvia by any chance? )))
Yes, it is! :)
Knew that! :D Very nice videos! Thank you! @@iPhone_Photography_School
Absolutely! Glad you liked our content! :)
8:42 that closeup shot of your hand holding the phone, what was that shot with?
It was shot with a macro lens from Sandmarc:
Sandmarc Macro lens - bit.ly/3Hs9jmy
@@iPhone_Photography_School The 25mm?
What about macro that’s already on the phone? Why is it necessary to buy another lens?
The built-in macro feature has a minimum focus distance, which can be increased with an attachable lens from Moment or Sandmarc.
Can you send the macro lens name?
You can find the Macro lens in Sandmarc's website. Here's the link: www.sandmarc.com/pages/shop-iphone-macro-lens
Emil why you don't using iPhone 14 pro
Emil is still getting great results with his current iPhone 11 PRO. :)
only issue is it’s shutter button is very tiny
so tiny to get hands on it
Why don’t you just use Macro mode built in to the iPhone 14 Pro?
The built-in macro has minimum focus distance of 2cm. You can get even closer with an attachable macro lens from Moment or Sandmarc
@@iPhone_Photography_School
Cool!
Why not using the built in iPhone macro mode? Is it because the ultra wide lens is not that great?

I’ll say 1 thing about ProCam. It doesn’t do 16:9 nearly as good as iPhones native camera
Emil Pakarklis does an excellent job here. I wish he would do some videos using the fisheye lens as well.

How can a person get a shallow depth of field with the iPhone ? aka bokeh

iPhone 15 Pro Max doesn't need a macro lens. :)
Lol how much $ is it though
It does if you want to have the same quality as the main lenses, as any other phone does 😉
Okay
Why ?
iPhone 14 Pro doesn’t need a macro lense and they are like $399
Its funny how good is XIAOMI 9,10,11 Pro macro camera ..i need better macro in iphone
Hello po
Your title is misleading, it implies that you are taking macro photos with the iphone only. Nice clickbait.
“with your iphone”
It saif it
🙄🤔
for people with iphone15:;
And i really wonder my $300 android phone takes much better macro shots without extra lens let alone the iPhone!

Totally underwhelming. If you want to do macro use a camera and lens that are fit for the job.
You’re missing the point: he did say macro using an iPhone.
