Till that time that God looked at Jesus & exclaimed "My Son, with whom I'm well pleased", there's no Biblical record of Jesus ever sitting & praying to God (just like not speaking in tongues). God was pleased with someone who probably never prayed till then. Infact after this incident Jesus prays & does super natural miracles.
