I have a 6 year old and the thought of her scrolling on RUclips or tik tok is just beyond upsetting. Parents now are LAZY. Just flat out lazy. Social media, and tablets and phones have absolutely ruined kids now. If you don’t have kids yet you’ll know what I mean when you do. The instant gratification they’re subjected to even in little shows they watch. It’s best to keep them far away from screens for as long as you can. Or at least watching things like little bear, less stimulation with no instant gratification. I’m seriously scared for this generation that’s growing up. They’ll all be addicted to phones, tablets, social media, p0rn, it’s just getting so much worse. I consider getting just a flip phone about once a week. I just want to be able to take good pictures

I remember being 12-18 and so obsessive about my weight. I weighed like 95 pounds. It was all I thought about all day every day. I’d run until I felt like throwing up and I’d practically starve myself. I know my mom went through the same thing and so many other people do too. It just is crazy to me that we look in the mirror and see something completely different than who we really are. I remember hearing somewhere that you can receive 100 wonderful compliments but one single bad comment will be what you cling onto and it’s sooo true and it’s heartbreaking

When the internet and social media specifically was just coming out most parents had no idea how it would affect their kids. The parents themselves hadn’t spent much time on social media so they had no idea how to properly protect their kids from it. Even my own parents tried their best to protect me but still failed horribly. I’ll never let my kids online till they’re a good age

Not to mention therapy isnt always what people need to feel better about themselves, its better to discover that in your own way rather than spending $70 for someone to drill self motivation into your head that you couldve got from the internet for free
