They do stuff like that all the time, they rarely remember much other than the hallmark moments from previous episodes. I remember they played $1,000,000 Pyramid last year or so and it ended up almost a carbon copy of the episode from where they played it years ago, as the game ended up giving them the exact same questions and they ended up making many of the same jokes.
