I am Korean and was a teenager in 90s. Seo taiji and Boys were called "culture president" (in literal translation) back in the day. So there is kind of similarity between Seo Taiji and Boys and BTS. And YG, CEO of YG ent which is one of big3, himself was a member of Seo Taiji and boys. And this song actually brought a lot of teenagers home who run away from home and living kind of street life. Lyrics are about, as you might guess, teenagers you should come back home. They didn't care about what their parents said but cared about what Seo taiji said. It was that big and that influential. I grew up on hip hop and rap in the US during the 90s. It's great to see fellow my Asians like Epik High, Big Bang and BTS pay homage to American rappers, while finding their own success in these genres, first in Asia, and now globally.
C M Yes. They did. Seo taiji and boys started the craze in Korea most definitely. Seeing all the things from Seo taiji to BTS, it gives me chills. I have seen all the growth and how much everyone got better in terms of pretty much everything. Not just BTS but Kpop industry itself inspires me. If you tirelessly put your time and effort, doing it long enough, even when other people are laughing at you(not only BTS but K pop also got so much hate with no apparent reasons as you might know), you can achieve something even unimaginable. All the reaction videos and all the love people showing all around the world are something you would never imagine back then. I am happy to see all the success and results they've got but I am even happier to see that they are growing, getting better and never stop.

Anyway a little ARMY info for you - When come back home was released ARMYs argued with one another over who was hitting those high notes in the beginning. Lots of ARMYs thought it was Jimin, some thought Jungkook but most of them thought Jimin. However a lot of us insisted it was Jin, we were called morons and 'not real ARMYs' for thinking and saying it was Jin. Then this was released and we were proved right. ARMYs were shocked at not just Jin's high notes here but at how he was finally front and center. It made us very happy to see him shining. Others are actually very loud compared to these guys. I like Cait's reactions more. I still remember how Jungkook and the rest of our boys were so excited and so happy when Seo Taiji said they can call him ʼdadʼ because as you know Korean is usually using honorific and so polite to someone who are older or senior than them. but Seo Taiji allowed them to address him with dad instead of Sunbaenim (senior).

I love their take on Come Back Home too^^ I know Josh, I wanted Jimin to do his usual showing his abs move during No More Dream, but I honestly think it's for the best; as much as he's now super confident in himself compared to before, when showing his abs became a "chore" because he wanted to show us his handsome side, I personally don't want him to feel that pressure again to diet and hurt himself or his body, sacrifice himself to show just his abs and be expected to show off all the time. @@pennyyoung3997 I hear what you're saying. Although for me, I don't think they overreact. They get excited like most reactors I've seen and like every fan. Others are actually very loud compared to these guys. I like Cait's reactions more. With Josh, I keep noticing with some of his mannerisms and they way he talks at times, he's trying to act like he's from the hood (unless he's from the hood, then never mind, lol). It's just very cringey. Otherwise, I do enjoy their reactions and so I keep giving it a chance. There's a fancam at a fansign meeting, where Jin is trying to rap and Suga is covering his face and looking away cause he's having a hard time listening to Jin. Once the moment is over, Suga is okay. I feel like Suga when Josh goes into from the hood mode. It just sounds fake.

itʼs not a surprise if you havenʼt heard comeback home before because thatʼs a remake song originally sung by the legend a.k.a the founder of K-Pop Seo Taiji. BTS got invited and performed with Seo Taiji on his anniversary concert, they performed a couple of his hit songs together. that was truly unforgettable moment. I still remember how Jungkook and the rest of our boys were so excited and so happy when Seo Taiji said they can call him ʼdadʼ because as you know Korean is usually using honorific and so polite to someone who are older or senior than them. but Seo Taiji allowed them to address him with dad instead of Sunbaenim (senior).
Come Back Home > song by Seo Taiji. He is original singer of Come Back Home. He can be called a godfather of Hip Hop in South Korea. He is very respectful and talented. BTS and him sang together in his 25th years anniversary concert. The performance was so lit and dope.

I know Josh, I wanted Jimin to do his usual showing his abs move during No More Dream, but I honestly think it's for the best; as much as he's now super confident in himself compared to before, when showing his abs became a "chore" because he wanted to show us his handsome side, I personally don't want him to feel that pressure again to diet and hurt himself or his body, sacrifice himself to show just his abs and be expected to show off all the time. If he really wants to, then I believe he'll do so when he's really comfortable for himself only :)
