Footage at 8:14 shows the shadow of the bear. I love it! Thanks for sharing! You give me a lot of ideas for new places to explore that are fairly close to home.
Great time of year to in the Great Burn! Crazy how popular Dalton is now. Dalton is a beautiful lake. Like the drone shots it gives perspective. Nice veiw of Trio Lakes. Every year we hike to Heart and Pearl. Didn't this year. So thanks for sharing. Hike on!
Bout time you use that drone. Yeah, you caught those colors at the right time of year....woooo doggies...pretty as all get up. Glad to see NO Name Jason out on trail. Thanks for the journey.
Thanks Travis.....nice footage. I know I've said this a few times but for me the Bitterroots scratch me right where I itch. And much like the Cabinets are for y'all, The Selway~Bitterroot Wilderness never disappoints. I've never been to the area around Dalton lake in Lolo where you guys were but I sure appreciate the video. Tom
This is farther north and not part of the Selway, but still the Bitterroots. It's one of my goals to go farther south and explore more of the Selway. I've only done one trip in there (so far), but I know there is much more to explore!
@@mountainwanderer Yes, 10-4 good buddy. I guess I was trying to say every time I find myself in the Bitterroots, I seem to gravitate to the Selway river corridor. At some point in time, I will feel like I've explored it enough and go check out places like Dalton lake. I'm slow to expand my horizons....LOL! Look on a map at the Elk Summit area about an hour south of Powell and you'll see the Moose Creek trail head. This leads to multiple trails throughout the S~B wilderness. Can't recommend it enough. 👍
Love the Ballad of Buster Scruggs! The goat was a young one, and we can thank Timber for him getting so close. Timber takes his job of keeping the goats out of camp very seriously. He was running them off as soon as we got to the lake. The little guy came running right at us and had no where to go, so he just got to the highest spot. We got out of there as soon as I got my shot so we wouldn't bother them any more than we had to.
Another gorgeous trip Travis! Fall colors in the mountains out west beat anything I ever saw in the 4 years going to school in Ohio. Love those cirque lakes of the BItterroots. Your trips always inspire me. Planning on headed up the North Fork or the Skokomish first weekend in December. BTW, how do you like your new hammock thus far. I’m needing to retire my ENO one. It doesn’t make for an easy diagonal lay, even when I put in a ridge line. Plus, I’d like one with a bug net. Been looking at the Hammock Gear stuff since I’m really pleased with my underquilt and top quilt. Mostly, I don’t want one that won’t let me lay diagonally in the hammock.
I'm a little surprised that you didn't see those kinds of colors in Ohio. Never been there, but I would guess that it is pretty in the fall. I've been really happy with my hammock, it was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted one of the wider hammocks because the other couple I had with bug nets were just too narrow. Haven't had a bad or even mediocre night in it yet. Simply Light Designs - Trail Lair.
@@mountainwanderer Ohio did have the colors, but once you mix subalpine fir, mountain cliffs, the lakes, and just the overall topography, nothing beats the huckleberry, azalea, mountain ash, and mountain maple out west. Unless you get up along Lake Superior or the Northern Appalachians.
That is the truth! I don't know about any secret trail, but that ridge between Dalton and Trio is no joke! We're planning more routes through here, so many options!
Really enjoyed all the fall colors, so beautiful! Beautiful, beautiful! Fun hike with the pups and friends - priceless! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for coming along with us!
Nice to see it as beautiful as it was 45 years ago . A lot more people now and a lot nicer trail
Would've loved to have seen back then!
The fall colors are just gorgeous! I always enjoy your videos. Thank you!
I was lucky enough to be out there in the mountains when the colors were at their peak!
Spectacular! Wonderful fall foliage. Thank you for sharing this. Cheers!
The colors were really spectacular on this trip! We caught it just at the right time!
"Time to get set up and start enjoying this." Many times my brother, many times.
It is glorious to be here.
Some of the best colors of the year on that trip!
Beautiful landscape! Thank you.
Thanks for checking it out!
Gorgeous is right! Spectacular colors. Love the drone footage. I don't think I've heard anyone say "Montucky" in decades.
We're bringing back the classics! Thanks for watching!
Fall colors,,, 🥰🍂🍁💖
It was good timing!
you have the best videos!! Thanks for sharing with us!
Thank you so much for watching!

I highly recommend anything in this area!
Those fall colors are awesome!
I thought that you would like this one in particular! Now I wish I would've got a few "Idahonian Reflection" shots!

It is really crazy how many people up there! 4 groups at Dalton and we even passed someone camped at Pearl!
Loved the video!
Thanks for watching!
Lovely fall colors. Go get the grouse Timber!
Sadly, Timber's eyesight is not great. He didn't even see the grouse until he got close to it.
Boy that's some beautiful area and the drone footage was so good. Glad you made out at the lake with a good spot. Take care, Al
I felt like the mountains were just showing off, they were so beautiful! Didn't realize that that lake was so popular!

You should've ventured out of the Cabinets to go on this one with us!

I cannot wait to explore more of that area!
Wow Travis, love the videography! Y'all sure hit the area at a beautiful time. Glad y'all ended up with a nice camp spot on Dalton Lake.
My whole goal with this trip was to get out while the colors were popped... I was not disappointed!
Wowza! The area is gorgeous, but with those fall colors it’s unreal! I’ve always wanted to visit the Bitterroot’s. Another stellar adventure! 👍👍🍻 CP
We had a run of outstanding fall weather. This was one of most colorful trips we did!
@@mountainwanderer fall was a long one this year here as well. Colors were spectacular!
getting that close to a goat is uncommon dont u think ????
what ballads did ya sing ???? the ballad of Buster Skrugg ?? lol
still loving the colos !!!

Love your truly genuine videos...not that I begrudge those who shill this or that product.
I appreciate you tuning in with us!
Dalton is more popular now than Heart. You should have climbed over the ridge to Trio Lakes. An easy bushwhack via the secret trail.

Absolutely breathtaking trail folks, these shots are just amazing. Fantastic presentation! 🔥🔥
