Yes laminating film will add a little protection but not as much as fiberglassing. Fiberglassing adds strength and stiffness. Also laminate won't stick to plastic as well
Nice video. I do almost the same thing as you. All I do is use 5 minute epoxy on the areas that hit the ground so it acts like a skid plate. Never thought about using glass fabric with the epoxy. Good idea. I have also added die to the epoxy to add color. Thanks for the video.
hej....can you tell me what is weight of the plane.... tnx
Did you laminate the leading edges of tour wings?
Yes, 3 mil laminate
Interesting to see thanks, I think you could also use the basalt rock fibre tissue...Laurie
Nice job on the fibreglassing Jeff.
Thanks man-it really works well- I had a nose in crash when my battery died- no damage at all!
+7demo7 Still Alive?
What kind of alcohol is your "denatured alcohol"? Methyl. ethyl or isopropyl?
+awuma I have no clue..lol
Very nice!
Pretty cool job :)
Why not using a think laminate film? Not strong enough as the fiber glass?
Have a great sunday

Is it polishble in order to smooth it out afterwards?
Yes, sand and add a last thinned coat- no polish necessary-
Personally I would use Finishing Resin, still 2 parts just like epoxy but much thinner and cures slowly as well without using denatured alcohol.

I was wondering about dye...
I had to thin it out a lot but it worked for me.
So why are you doing this? It's a lightweight plane, is it not strong enough to serve its purpose? Good to watch though.
Good job buddy!!! 👆👍
+BR Crawlers Thanks!
on the 45 degree!!!! omg newbie mistake
