You're so beautiful Mbarlay, I don't think I can ever comment on your videos without mentioning that! 😄 Anyways! I commend you for going for hagwons/private academies. I am super scared of struggling there. But, I won't lie, I am starting to consider applying for them as well now. Having to wait for programs with set intakes is not it!
Thank you so much🙏🏾! Ey, sometimes I’ve wondered how I’ve done it too😂 but to be honest once you’re in it, it’s not AS bad (if you get an okay or good academy). Yeah, I went with Hagwons because I didn’t want a long application process, I just wanted to start ASAP 👀. All the best with whichever decision you make! 🤞🏾
Hey girl. I really enjoyed the video and i like your style as well. I’m also in korea and I’d like to know where you got the decorations pieces on the drawer, if you don’t mind me asking. Can’t wait for the apartment tour that’s coming up.
Hey girl! Thank you so much ❤️. Omg, which part of Korea are you in ? The vases are from H&M home, I got them online, and the dry grass I got from a florist in my neighborhood.
@@mbarlayndlovu9059 I’m in Gimhae, it’s quiet close to Busan.. I’ll definitely check them out and compare the prices with coupang, thanks so much girl.
If your academy decides on those days for you, then the kids will have the same days you have off too. If not, then kids just take their own breaks and will call in saying they’re off for a few weeks or months.
Hey loves; I am in my process of finding a school. Can you please advice me on working hours for first time working at a hawgon if possible. What's fair and what isn't?
Hey, that’s a good question. I’d say fair working hours would be dependent on your duties & teaching vs break. If I had to pick a number, I’d say 8 working hrs and 6 teaching hrs. I’ve seen some Hagwons are pushing for 9hrs now but that means they legallly have to give you an hour’s break, and if the duties/teaching hrs aren’t strenuous, I’d still deem that fair, also factoring salary (minimum being around 2.1 million won). Although it’s not as common, there are schools that offer less hrs for a similar pay.
Working at hagwon can very well be an abusive experience. The private owners of the hagwon will wipe their butts with your contract if they that sort of individual.
You articulate yourself really well and you're really calm when you talk.
Thank you🥰!

Hey mbals so no December holidays like in SA??
Unfortunately not:(. Especially with Hagwons. You’ll get Christmas and NEw Years, but just as a public holiday and then things continue afterwards.
Do hagwons accept teachers from other african countries? Most of us speak English officially though, not just south Africa
As far as I know, South Africa is the only recognised African country, at least when it comes to teaching visas 😔.
@@mbarlayndlovu9059 I see thanks though
So I’ve been most schools offer 10 days vacation. Do the students not get a few weeks off for summer break and winter break?

How many days a week do you work in a hogwan?
On average, 5 days. Monday-Friday

Is it possible to move from hagwon to epik?
It is but I’d assume you’d still have to do the lengthy application.
Y a des profs de couleur en Corée?
There are many different teachers from different countries!

Some experiences can definitely go horrible and it’s sad to see💔.
As a foreign teacher you have no rights or recourse. Poorer Koreans do neither. An owner if they dont like you can do whatever they want.
That’s very true, including less fortunate Koreans. A very sad reality🥺🥴.
I tell you are Mbali or Mbalenhle🤣
