@Jinn Jinn they may want to look more closely at the victims, if that's the case. Hasn't it been proven that a majority of victims grow up to be abusers?
I think studying the victims to see what percentage grow up normally, as opposed to abusers, would be equally as valuable, if not more so. The researchers would gain insight as to what additional factors, besides abuse, determines who becomes an abuser, and who doesn't.
They could follow these victims till they became adults, that's years of research material. That could be the insight they so desperately need, plus they might be able to nip a potential serial killer in the bud with proper treatment.

    • @peggygreeby5065

I really like the close up of the dudes face while he was being asked the questions so we could see his facial expressions as he internalized the question and got ready to answer. They usually show the person's face who is asking the questions not the listener. I liked it.

I too am confused about his living arrangements and wonder what I am missing. If he is a prisoner but gets to live in a provided home, on a farm, free-ish???? How’s that work??? If this is how Australia treats its worst criminals, all us old folks struggling on social security need to move there and commit a crime. And if he’s out of prison, then Australia has got some splaining to do. THAT DOG RUNNING STIFF-LEGGED is adorable.....I don’t think I’m mistaken in that it belongs to the killer?????another perk? Btw...he remembers every single thing. You can see it when he cuts his eyes slightly and looks down every time he says it. And he DOES love being the center of this movie.

I think you will find most Western governments (apart from the USA), have this softly softly approach when it comes to heinous criminals. They always ignore the victims, hand out incredibly lenient sentences, it is pathetic. The families of the London Bridge terrorist attacks have been denied legal aid, yet the brother accomplice of Salman Abedi has been granted it (Manchester Arena bombing terrorist attack, killed children). Governments and judges obviously have a hard on for psychopaths, the more heinous your crime the better. It disgusts me, corrupt to the core. Bring back the death penalty for one's like this man I say. Race has nothing to do with it, they are just not interested in justice anymore, more scared to look inhumane for christ's sake. They have their priorities all wrong.

Given the probable context of such a scenario though i'd think that wouldn't be something that anybody would want to see. Sometimes a mask can be a blessed relief. Still, his peepers creep through the eye-slits, and they shine with an utterly egocentric cunning. Very, very creepy.

This is what we call a Half Way house in the US. He did time in a regular prison, then the last few years of his sentence is at a place like this. This is intended to get people used to being out of prison.
I am a forensic psych in the US & most states here require various different education/counseling and drug programs while inmates are at a Halfway House. I am not sure exactly what Australia does but around 2005-1010 they were sending lots of psychologists to do fellowships in the US to learn how we set up our programming (counseling/drug programs etc)
They generally have little security but if they abscond, they go back to a regular prison when caught. It's actually fairly rare for people to escape, we call it "walking off" from a Halfway House. There is really no motivation for them to walk off. They are generally at the end of a long sentence, they are given notable freedom but don't have to worry about making a living. Basically, it's a comfortable place. Much better than prison, shielded from the stresses of real life.

Regarding the Beaumont kids, if I remember correctly, I think that Grant or Arnna had told their parents that Jane had a "boyfriend" at the beach. Maybe little Jane had a crush on this older boy they had met, and Jim had sort of led Jane to believe they were "boyfriend" and "girlfriend."

Casualties of world wars don't remain in the sphere of actual deaths in the field but also in the
lasting devastation to the participants who just had to be there. Stories within my own family of
violence and abuse committed by members of family who were there to others after the war tell me this.
This is predominately because there was no real recognition of PTSD.
I believe this guy suffered outstanding violence and abuse as a child this is borne out by many killers of
his type and of course the casualties of war remain higher than the ones in print.
