Rebecca Farley You can kill lots of people without much punishment in the United States, too. You just have to get a job working for border patrol (I.C.E.).
@Jinn Jinn they may want to look more closely at the victims, if that's the case. Hasn't it been proven that a majority of victims grow up to be abusers? I think studying the victims to see what percentage grow up normally, as opposed to abusers, would be equally as valuable, if not more so. The researchers would gain insight as to what additional factors, besides abuse, determines who becomes an abuser, and who doesn't. They could follow these victims till they became adults, that's years of research material. That could be the insight they so desperately need, plus they might be able to nip a potential serial killer in the bud with proper treatment.
I really don't understand the reason for this "documentary". This is certainly no journey into the mind of a serial killer, but proof that this murderer is livin' a pretty comfortable life sentence, and has made a new friend. Ridiculous.
You re so right..there isn t a reason..we re all living in Disneyland...and all detectives re looking for new friends thats why they re out there. Didn t you know ?

They usually show the person's face who is asking the questions not the listener. I liked it.

my nieces death has been a huge driver in canada for that attitude to change..she was 13...she was butchered and found in a suitcase floating in the river.
I think you will find most Western governments (apart from the USA), have this softly softly approach when it comes to heinous criminals. They always ignore the victims, hand out incredibly lenient sentences, it is pathetic. The families of the London Bridge terrorist attacks have been denied legal aid, yet the brother accomplice of Salman Abedi has been granted it (Manchester Arena bombing terrorist attack, killed children). Governments and judges obviously have a hard on for psychopaths, the more heinous your crime the better. It disgusts me, corrupt to the core. Psychopathy will always be in much debate. No one reason defines this. Some phycopaths just operate like this, just because they can get away with it. No feelings what so ever. The missing element to experiencing remorse.
About 11:00 into the video. So I'm wondering....hmm....nice looking guy. Presents himself well. Good haircut...proper clothes. Soft spoken....good eye contact...good manners. WHAT could possibly be WRONG here???
First impressions.. That woman is old, recalling something in 1962. When I was just 9.. There was no need for her to cry, it was years ago, but she did. She was frightened, looked to a friend for help. None was forthcoming.. Classical PTSD or survivor guilt. I truly hope she married, had kids, lots. Christmases, birthdays and more love, than lard on bread..
What an incredible story about a man who killed at a young age and kept killing well into adulthood eventually he was arrested for the killings of kids who went missing and he spent years in prison he thought he was invincible but the law eventually caught up with him
@@IwasBlueb4 Whats wrong with you do you listen or are you sttuuupppiiiddd...He is the youngest prisoner that is serving a NAYURAL LIFE SENTENCE NOW 1 Charge do some research b4 you leave a comment
Gordon Davie is one sharp detective. This guy's in prison? Not by half. Looks like he lives in an apartment & he runs a bate shop. He has a computer. None of those children even know what a computer is. Nor will they ever. The government of Australia should be ashamed of the plush life sentence this guy had.
Does this prison farm have officers working there or is it he comes and goes and sleeps at the prison? It seems he has a lot of freedom for a prisoner. The retired detective just drives right up? I know nothing about prisons so this is very foreign to me. Doesn't seem to have any security.
This is what we call a Half Way house in the US. He did time in a regular prison, then the last few years of his sentence is at a place like this. This is intended to get people used to being out of prison. I am a forensic psych in the US & most states here require various different education/counseling and drug programs while inmates are at a Halfway House. I am not sure exactly what Australia does but around 2005-1010 they were sending lots of psychologists to do fellowships in the US to learn how we set up our programming (counseling/drug programs etc) They generally have little security but if they abscond, they go back to a regular prison when caught. It's actually fairly rare for people to escape, we call it "walking off" from a Halfway House. There is really no motivation for them to walk off. They are generally at the end of a long sentence, they are given notable freedom but don't have to worry about making a living. Basically, it's a comfortable place. Much better than prison, shielded from the stresses of real life.
Amanda Dennis trusted prisoners get to work outside the prison on prison orchards farms and dairys , there's prisons around that have no walls s or locks
These guys are compulsive psychopaths. Do u really think hes going to stay on that farm? My guess hes biding his time . Cant believe the authorities are risking the horrendous torture and murder of another child- or children- by letting him wslk around free on that farm. UNREAL. Seriously, what are the authorities thinking!?
There's a lot of reasons for that. Childhood experience....psychopath... significant head injury AND meningitis....and just plain old criminal coping skills. He learned to repress his feelings a long time ago....now he's a master at it.
Its his mask of sanity, to borrow a coined term. I think, when he is engaged in doing something he finds pleasurable, you would see strong emotion displayed. Given the probable context of such a scenario though i'd think that wouldn't be something that anybody would want to see. Sometimes a mask can be a blessed relief. Still, his peepers creep through the eye-slits, and they shine with an utterly egocentric cunning. Very, very creepy.
He is not giving up anything of value...he's in charge...not the interviewer. The interviewer never challenges him on his false claims. Perfect example of a narcissistic predator....and, many human's suffer brain damage and do not lead a life of crime.
I could easily imagine a 19-year-old boy being able to befriend and gain the trust of small children. Regarding the Beaumont kids, if I remember correctly, I think that Grant or Arnna had told their parents that Jane had a "boyfriend" at the beach. Maybe little Jane had a crush on this older boy they had met, and Jim had sort of led Jane to believe they were "boyfriend" and "girlfriend."
Stephanie Siemens; Did a quick search but didn't find any more than what is here. Still in prison which is good in my opinion, pedophiles never rehabilitate so he's where he should be.
This is an Australian production I am guessing.I think that the fact that it happened in such remote areasso many years ago is why there is not much on it. If they were to find the remains of the three kids he abducted, and I am pretty sure he did, because he is trying to set up his blackout defense, then I bet we might hear more
Monstrous individuals with double lives. Extremely perceptive and opportunists. Never repenting as no moral compass within, only lustful deviance to their needs and entitlement. Dangerous and vile.
How come every time I hear about Australia and that part of the globe it's some serial killers, dangerous animals or some stupid auto laws? It's like the Florida of the world (minus guns)
Casualties of world wars don't remain in the sphere of actual deaths in the field but also in the lasting devastation to the participants who just had to be there. Stories within my own family of violence and abuse committed by members of family who were there to others after the war tell me this. This is predominately because there was no real recognition of PTSD. I believe this guy suffered outstanding violence and abuse as a child this is borne out by many killers of his type and of course the casualties of war remain higher than the ones in print.

He doesn't even look dangerous. That's scary :(
Why on earth is this guy allowed to fishing? The only thing he should be doing with fish is sleeping with them. Incredible.
Why did he not ask O'niel how many " black outs" he had had in his 28 years in prison? I am guessing none.
What kind of punishment is this? He has some freedom, gets to dress up nicely, and a dog ?? No telling what he does with those cows and that poor dog when he's alone. Despicable. Trying to act so smug and 'normal'.
This is why pedifilia will never go away , because they get little to no time when they hurt children , and the cycle goes on and on , there are higher up athorithy out there involved ,and has been for years ,when will it end !, it's destoyed people and thier childhoods for centuries , there's got to be stricter laws , I'm just wasting my breath , we need a lot off good people to protect the children ,who will be our next generation !
Like their *Parents* it's their responsibility after all ... Well done for saying absolutely nothing !!! The problem is people like you, too much to say with no content.
Heather are you drunk ?
Heather, your comment is stupid. did the death penalty stop people from murdering? it didnt.
No she just can't wait to spew her propaganda about pedophile rings involving "higher up authority". Do i believe that there are such rings?yes ,but not on the level that these "pizza gaters" would have us believe. The rest is just the usual lock em up and throw away the key ranting .I live in the US where we have very harsh laws compared to the UK and a lot of countries in Europe..Yet we have WAY more crimes.Interesting ....
Heather Bowlan Your right, it's judges and the like who are doing this they will get to know this man (his solicitor)and befriend him while on remand find a flaw in the case and he's out to get the judge solisitors police political ppl it's how they work, they'd keep away from this fella because he's mad but other peado's get boys for the LAW PEOPLE give them 30 yrs they'll all be in prison
I will never understand how some people lack basic empathy and compassion for others, which results in wicked crimes.
Well, the human beeings are the most evil thing ever created...all this suffering in this World is man made
Why does this guy have the right to smoke a cigarette & pour himself some tea? Wtf is wrong with that prison system
@Paulo Eclectik Ask those children how civilized they thought it was!
@@briobarb8525 exactly... thank the Good Lord HE will get his justice one day.
@Paulo Eclectik There is nothing civilized about coddling a murderer.
No country in the world is "civilized." Where do you live? La-La Land?
This is not punishment at all, if you think it's a sufficient sentence/punishment for his "uncivilized" actions you're about as kookie as this "prison" . Maybe put yourself into the shoes of the family of the victims then you might understand.
No...what is wrong with ur brainnnnn ? Don't you listen ???? WHY bore others with ur stupid questions...listen to it, like we all do....please, if u don't understand just stay quiet....
He is so scarily normal.
you have a great channel with great documentaries.
The poor lil aboriginal boy, how absolutely dreadful. That dear child.
A poilceman laughing and joking with a child murderer says it all .. could not watch anymore.
Sick
that old cops voice is awesome.
It's amazing on meeting one person can change your life forever.
The bigotry and racism in this documentary is appalling. "Blackfella caper we didn't get invovled with [relating to a little boy barbed-wired to a log], "gins", "the native girls can never keep secrets"....such ignorance, stereotyping and contempt.
I know! The woman made it sound like they didn't really care that he was exploiting the local native women as long as no one talked about it.
Pausen yep that's serious
YOU WIN! You have unlocked the "Offended" achievement!
The way he meant it was that there are two different cultures and each sticks to their own business, especially back then. Kind of like the Indian reservation in the US. They take care of their own business. So relax your virtue, we all still think you are a good person. You don't need to point out and comment on something everyone else noticed bud.
Also, it was just the one guy talking like that so why paint the entire Doc with the racism brush?
GrayLine you're an imbecile lol.
Psychopathy will always be in much debate. No one reason defines this. Some phycopaths just operate like this, just because they can get away with it. No feelings what so ever. The missing element to experiencing remorse.
If he had murdered his son then maybe it would not had been such a happy interview
About 11:00 into the video. So I'm wondering....hmm....nice looking guy. Presents himself well. Good haircut...proper clothes. Soft spoken....good eye contact...good manners. WHAT could possibly be WRONG here???
Lol....you sound like me...I could never judge a man correctly and one like this would have fooled me.
Never judge a book by its cover.
Wow... What a lovely life he leads.
First impressions..
That woman is old, recalling something in 1962.
When I was just 9..
There was no need for her to cry, it was years ago,
but she did.
She was frightened, looked to a friend for help.
None was forthcoming..
Classical PTSD or survivor guilt.
I truly hope she married, had kids, lots.
Christmases, birthdays and more love,
than lard on bread..
that was my first thought too, p-tsd
He's not in prison. He's on a lifetime holiday!
What an incredible story about a man who killed at a young age and kept killing well into adulthood eventually he was arrested for the killings of kids who went missing and he spent years in prison he thought he was invincible but the law eventually caught up with him
Just watched this again...have studied many evil men but this man truly scares me
@@philjames6206 The retired policeman was the one in the boat.
Why ?
He is living a pretty comfy life for a prisoner.
A true monster.
No memory of the event but he knew where the body was 🙄
36:43 he’s only thinking “worried” as it pertains to HIM! Such a Sociopath.
This horrible story should serve as a cautionary tale. Evil exists.
That is a prison?
whats wrong with u guys ??? Do u not listen ????
@@IwasBlueb4 Whats wrong with you do you listen or are you sttuuupppiiiddd...He is the youngest prisoner that is serving a NAYURAL LIFE SENTENCE NOW 1 Charge do some research b4 you leave a comment
Gordon Davie is one sharp detective. This guy's in prison? Not by half. Looks like he lives in an apartment & he runs a bate shop. He has a computer. None of those children even know what a computer is. Nor will they ever. The government of Australia should be ashamed of the plush life sentence this guy had.
"I couldn't have done that. I was in Melbourne at the time." So, not that day. Awesome.
We need to start physically castrating pedophiles
Frighteningly affable.
very intriguing and pretty scary documentary and man, what a massive accent the narrator`s got!
Does this prison farm have officers working there or is it he comes and goes and sleeps at the prison? It seems he has a lot of freedom for a prisoner. The retired detective just drives right up? I know nothing about prisons so this is very foreign to me. Doesn't seem to have any security.
I was thinking the same thing. It seems very lax and not like much punishment.
A lot of countries have prison systems like this - focused on rehabilitation and psychology. Not confinement and solitude. Different culture.
I am not sure exactly what Australia does but around 2005-1010 they were sending lots of psychologists to do fellowships in the US to learn how we set up our programming (counseling/drug programs etc)
They generally have little security but if they abscond, they go back to a regular prison when caught.
Amanda Dennis trusted prisoners get to work outside the prison on prison orchards farms and dairys , there's prisons around that have no walls
s or locks
We live in a big prison called USA......Think about it.....
Psychopaths do not feel guilt, remorse or empathy.
His face is incapable of showing emotion.
Thanks for info n.p.
yeah i see these a lot, anti social people act polite to detectives/guards after they are caught for any reason, but def looks like this
I could easily imagine a 19-year-old boy being able to befriend and gain the trust of small children.
Why is there nothing else about this killer except this doc? Anyone know where to find more info?
Stephanie Siemens; Did a quick search but didn't find any more than what is here. Still in prison which is good in my opinion, pedophiles never rehabilitate so he's where he should be.
Debbie Prokop Thanks Debbie!

Found this. I have yet to read the contents since I just started the episode. :)
This is an Australian production I am guessing.I think that the fact that it happened in such remote areasso many years ago is why there is not much on it. If they were to find the remains of the three kids he abducted, and I am pretty sure he did, because he is trying to set up his blackout defense, then I bet we might hear more
Damaged frontal lobe can definitely lead to really uncharacteristic or impulsive, uncontrollable behaviour.
She's so soft spoken I can't hear her...any way to up the volume?
I love the style of this guy. He sounds like he's whittling something whilst he talks.
lol
Annoying
So many ads ☹️love the vids tho
that looks pretty nice for a prison
He is so sleazy.
Monstrous individuals with double lives. Extremely perceptive and opportunists. Never repenting as no moral compass within, only lustful deviance to their needs and entitlement. Dangerous and vile.
A maniac is let out of prison on weekends to run his business and go angling? It beggars belief!
How come every time I hear about Australia and that part of the globe it's some serial killers, dangerous animals or some stupid auto laws? It's like the Florida of the world (minus guns)
Casualties of world wars don't remain in the sphere of actual deaths in the field but also in the
lasting devastation to the participants who just had to be there. Stories within my own family of
violence and abuse committed by members of family who were there to others after the war tell me this.
This is predominately because there was no real recognition of PTSD.
I believe this guy suffered outstanding violence and abuse as a child this is borne out by many killers of
his type and of course the casualties of war remain higher than the ones in print.
James O'Neill has resemblance to Phil Hartman (comedian, actor. Now deceased.)
RIP Phil. He was a great comedian. Murdered by his own wife in his sleep, smh. I hope she is burning to a crisp atm.
Yes he does! Thank you, it was driving me nuts!!
It's as if that compact fridge between them on the table during the interview is standing guard.
It's obviously the ONLY GUARD standing by. Wtf?
'i have no memory of the event' how convenient
Great documentary - Well Done! Has he done others?
No question he is lying all the way People like him need a good memory He cant have it both ways the dog
great documentary.
Wow. At 25:45 missing ear! Ouch!
I wish they would catch the monster who brutally murdered two young girls in Delphi Indiana. Justice for Abby and Libby!
I hate fishermen - like hunters they think there is nothing wrong with taking the life of a sentient creature just for their own pleasure. "Not an unkind man!?" Pull the other one! All fishermen are intrinsically unkind and lacking in compassion or they wouldn't do what they do.
The reason why so many of these people go undetected is because they seem like anyone on the street.
The blackouts he said he gets is a bunch of 💩. What prison is this he’s in wow. He really got it made for someone going life. Just can’t believe no inmates got there hands on him just can’t believe it...
It's so weird, he comes off as such a nice older guy. I would never think he's a serial child killer
Everyone involved here was creepy. Even the guy at 25:40 was missing a frickin ear!
SHELLBACKS CLUB ToyTube TVT yeah its choppers brother
Interviewer doesn’t allow silence. Fills in words after uncomfortable questions are asked.
He looks like a gentleman farmer rather than an imprisoned murderer.
