Honestly, the fact that you returned the phone and still donated 100% to the Red Foundation is generous especially that amount for one person to donate is incredible. At the end of the day it's your money and you choose what you want to do with it.

If you find yourself in this situation again, might I suggest that instead of returning the phone and making a donation, you auction it off on eBay and then donate those proceeds. That way, the Red Foundation gets both the original donation PLUS the secondary donation AND one of your many, many fans gets an official iJustine owned and used iPhone.
Just a thought.
