When I was on my first trip to Europe, (April 2019) we went to England, Scotland, and Paris. . We started off in London, then to York. Using King's Cross station, we went to Edinburgh. I fell in love with Scotland, maybe partly because of my Scottish heritage. Such a beautiful country. I could easily live there. Our tour took us to the highlands, and Holy Island, and, of course toured the castle ! On the train I loved getting the Scottish cheese sandwich yum ! Thank you for this video. I loved seeing Edinburgh again. 🥰💐🌵🌞🌷🌱🏜️💗
Didn't think I would be spending sunday afternoon in Edinburgh and checking out the castle but what the hey life is full of surprises. Thank you so much for the tour, always love the content you put out 🙂
You'll never know how much I enjoy your travel vlogs. I won't ever be able to travel again due to my health and Scotland is one of the places I had hoped to see. I appreciate that you show every day things, along with castles, on your journeys. The cherry blossoms were gorgeous! Thank you! God Bless!!
I've been to Edinburgh twice but not for about 22 years! We went for the rugby twice and walked from Princes Street to Murrayfield and back. Long walk! Walked up to the castle on the first trip and randomly met an ex Welsh rugby player on the way down so got his autograph lol (I'm Welsh by the way). Enjoyed your vlog. Ali x
This was a great preview of Edinburgh! My friend and I have it on our Bucket list, she's already been, l have not. And of course London and Paris. I studied French and l Love Paris! This video was very special and entertaining. Your enthusiasm is so much fun! Thanks for sharing the story about the time you were there in 4 feet of Snow! That was really scary You could have had a bad frostbite. It's a beautiful place in Spring with all the flowers in Bloom! Take care, your friend in Kansas City, Tom 😃👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟♥️♥️♥️🍀🍀🎉🎉🎉.
You should visit Edinburgh when the Festival is on, it has such an amazing vibe and it's so lively and special. Lots of street entertainers and vendors and just a great day/ weekend away!! 💙💙💙🏴🏴🏴
You flashed through my home city of Newcastle. Love Edinburgh, once when i was there in my late teens, the Tattoo was being rehearsed I was standing at the Castle gate and a platoon of soldiers came out of the gates, they decided to practice their salute towards me, I was so embarrassed and glowed red. What you can taste in Irn Brew is steel girders !!!
My Dad was from Leadgate in County Durham. We got to visit for my 50th birthday 12 years ago. My cousins took us by train to Edinburgh for the day on my 50th. I remember Princess Street was dug up. We had a fabulous time.🇨🇦
Welcome to Scotland and to my very favourite city of all time. Thank you for showing us round, Edinburgh always looks spectacular (even in the snow!) So happy you got a good day to do the interviews on Princes Street.
Hi Mr. C! Wow Edinburgh is beautiful when it's bright & sunny. I only ever see it on tv when it's grey & cloudy. How amazing was that castle and interesting to see a two story street as well. Thanks for taking us on such a lovely adventure! Much love from Fort Worth, Texas! 😊🍃🚄
Thankyou do much for taking us to Edinburgh. I have never been there so really enjoyed looking around. The gardens were beautiful. I've had a lovely morning starting with Luke in London, now you in Scotland. X
So nice to be taken around Edinburgh, especially seeing the blossom.....eerie seeing it so empty though. Flew up to Edinburgh a few years back on a fact finding mission & loved every minute of it and despite it being the middle of march the city was so busy and vibrant. Sad how Corona pandemic has changed everything we took for granted. Re: fish & chips has to be salt, vinegar and mayonnaise or tartare sauce.....no ketchup malarkey 😂😂TFS x
Thank you for sharing Edinburgh with us! My daughter was in the British Isles and Ireland when she was in college. Edinburgh was her favorite city because of the quaintness. She said that it was like walking back in time, whereas London was a mix of modern with pockets of antiquity. Edinburgh Castle overlooking the city is breathtaking. I am planning a trip across the pond when this pandemic is over!
I enjoyed your evening stroll round Edinburgh. It’s a lovely time of day to look around a city when it’s not so busy. You were lucky with the weather this time.
You were in my home city!! Next time, let me know in advance and i'll be a tourguide for you. The Witchery is one of the most exclusive restaurants in Edinburgh, delish food and people often have their wedding lunches there out on the terrace. Edinb was built on hills around the loch which is now Princes Street Gardens and the Castle stands on volcanic rock. Best hangover cure ever is a banana washed down with irnbru!! Glad you enjoyed your trip!
We love our fish 'n chips here in Ontario Canada. A few of the shops even have "ye olde" in the name. Our British roots showing. I like ketchup on the fish and gravy on the chips. IKEA has good fish 'n chips too. Well they did before the last year. They closed their restaurants at least temporarily and the stores have been on lockdown probably half of Covid. Loved seeing Edinburgh 💕🇨🇦
❤🐟&🍟. Malt vinegar, garlic-mayo, and ketchup for the chips. Cherry blossoms are fab. Was lucky enough to make a trip to Washington, D.C., and be there for the Cherry Blossom Festival, all yhe trees bloomed, and the city smelled of flowers. Sigh. Gods I miss travel.
Such a beautiful city. The UK, Scotland and Ireland are places I want to visit one day. Fish and chips are very popular here in Australia also. Love it with lemon and salt only.
We only have one place in town for Fish 'N Chips and it's called "Brit's Pub" in Downtown Minneapolis. Vinegar and lemon only on top. DEEE-lish. Lawn bowling on top of the building with grass and movies outdoors in the summer months. Very popular and fun place. Not far from the Mary Tyler Moore statue. Her sitcom was set to take place here.
So lovely to see Edinburgh again. I remember sitting in the Princess St Gardens with a handful of seeds whilst Scottish sparrows landed on my fingers to feed. Squirrel sat beside me on bench eating p-nuts. Magic! Didn't hear the talking traffic lights on Princess St, perhaps they're no longer there? Btw re your duffel bag 🎒; try a stick on leather patch to cover the dodgy bit. Hope that helps.
Hi, nice to see you in Scotland. If your ever here at Christmas time, in the beautiful gardens you were showing they have a Christmas market on the two levels which is a lovely time to visit. There's also a spooky tour usually during the Edinburgh festival but it may be on at other times of the year, I'm not sure, anyway Edinburgh is sitting on top of the old city, you can go on a guided tour through all the old streets. A town under a town. I enjoyed your blog as always. ❤️
Fish and chips are as much a part of the Aussie lifestyle as they are in the UK - definitely fresh lemon and tartare for me. My partner loves vinegar on his chips and always dips them in tomato Sauce (ketchup). Our postponed UK trip (supposed to be there at the end of Summer this year which is now probably at least 2 years away) was originally planned with all driving via hire car. On recommendation from other travellers, it was suggested that we travel by train between our main destination cities, do our sight seeing by foot and public transport then hire a car locally, travelling out from our base to the other places we want to visit. After seeing how fast you travelled from London to Edinburgh I’m even more sold on the idea. My partner drives a lot with his work so train travel would give him a chance to relax on travel days. Thank you for sharing so many lovely places in the UK as you travel around for Steph’s Packed Lunch. My ancestors came to South Australia from midway between Glasgow and Edinburgh so both cities are on our list.
Thanks for taking us to Edinburgh with you - lovely to see the castle and the gardens again. I visited Edinburgh a good few years ago now. Love fish and chips as long as the fish is haddock - yummy with a bit of salt and malt vinegar!
Lovely to see Edinburgh! I live in Glasgow and can never normally justify the cost of an overnight stay, but in the last year I have been taking advantage of the once in life time opportunity to find cheap accommodation and deserted street and doing a few overnight stays whenever lockdown has permitted (including last week). That was a good walk you did there, you must have been fair knackered when you got back to the hotel. I hope you had enough time for a bath. I'll forgive you for butchering some of the names. The weather and the gardens looked resplendent, you really did the city justice. And as Rabble Burns would say Haste Ye Back!
I always used to invest in suitcases but they got so buggered from being thrown around on long distance bus journeys backwards and forwards to university that I eventually opted for a cheaper one! Your Primark one looks good for those kinds of trips where it'd be tossed around
Mrcarrington. Thank you for taking me along your awesome tour to Scotland. Love the sight seeing, the Historical Castle, overall I love the tour. Love the content etc.
On my fish and chips I love a bit of tarter sauce and lemon juice on the fish and just a pinch of salt on the chips!! Lovely meal!!! Great tour of Edinburgh!! Thank you so much for taking us along to the castle!! Bless you!!!
Edinburgh looks amazing and somewhere I would love to visit. Always imagined owning a camper van and just driving around the UK, starting at Dover near where I live, traveling all around the coast, heading inland here and there. But that was a long time ago, don’t think I would drive now, but would still like to visit certain parts of the UK. Abroad doesn’t interest me that much, but never say never xx
I enjoyed the trip with you very much. At 71 I can do only a fraction of what I used to when traveling. I am so grateful to have traveled when I was younger and able. I have been to Edinburgh 3 times and it was lovely and fun!
Love Edinburgh! Such a beautiful and compact city. The festival and Tattoo are fabulous. My last booked trip got the ax due to the pandemic. Back soon, I hope. 🇺🇸🏴
Oh Mr Carrington, thanks for taking us to Scotland. I have always wanted to visit Edinburgh. I love Mackies crisp. When I stay at a hotel I love having a bath. It so relaxing. I love my chips with either vinegar or mayonnaise.
This brought back memories for me! Been years since I last visited Edinburgh. I stayed at a hotel where we had great view of the gardens and the castle. Lots of hotels above the shops on that street! X
Edinburgh is a beautiful City and great to walk around too. I think there's a whiskey distillery near the castle, paid a visit to it, had a great time hence I can't quite recall it's actual location!! 🤭 Mmm mmmm love fish 'n' chips, lots of salt and vinegar for me please.
Hello Bonnie Scotland, I miss you, I was born and bred in Dundee, but lived in Canada for over 40 years, still forever in my heart, hope you enjoyed Iwan, love fish and chips , no Ketchup for me lol Castle looked lovely ❤
thank you so much for the tour. I used to go to Edinburgh every month for work before I retired so was really great to see all the familiar places. Glad you had nice weather☺
Wow you"ll be buzzing drinking that Ironbrew that late!! Those fish n chips looked super yummy....i luv salad cream all over mine 👍🏻. It looked really quiet round the streets of Edinburgh.....like a lil ghost town! Take care Iwan luv your video as always 😘
Always wanted to visit Scotland but so far never have. Thanks for showing us around Edinburgh. Some of those back streets looked a little spooky though.
Thia was so wonderful to watch. I have been to Edinburgh twice, once in the winter and once in summer, so seeing it in the spring is brilliant. Also I love Fish and chips with squeeze of lemon and Tartare sauce, you made me feel like Fish and chips.
I luv fish + chips. I dip chips in ketchup.( don't like tarter sauce though) My grandmother was born in Edinburgh. My great grandmother sang in pubs and met my great grandfather while singing. I want to go there one day. I live in Ontario ,Canada. Luv your videos. Have a wonderful day.❤
Hello again from the U.S! I always enjoy your and Luke's videos with my Sunday morning cup of tea or coffee. Yes, I love fish and chips and sometimes make them myself (yes, I'm a bit proud. haha!) Can't wait to see what's going on with your loft reno as I have a civil engineering background. Thanks so much for sharing! xx
I love Edinburgh. Last time I was there it was a very wet December weekend. It was so good to see all the flowers/trees in bloom. On your trip up we’re you sitting‘backwards’ s n the train? I can’t cope with that, have to face direction of travel. Crazy or what! A bath two nights in a row - what luxurious splendour.
Really enjoyed your trip to Edinburgh,my husband and I ,Daughter and grandson were booked to go to London ,then up to York, then on to Edinburgh and Glasgow ,but sadly COVID spoiled the plans. It was awesome to see how beautiful it is there. Thanks for sharing.
Wow!!!! I'm so invested in all the architecture. It's so beautiful. And imagine how long it took to build way back then without all the knowledge we have now? Amazing. "If these walls could talk" right? ❤💚💜💙💛 p.s. Love fish and chips tho I've only had U.S. version and not for a while. Hum...getting hungry now for some...
Brilliant visit to Edinburgh. I loved it. Went with a friend to the Edinburgh tattoo some years ago. Also had a meal in the Witchery. Fabulous inside and food lovely. I can highly recommend the whisky tasting. Yum yum. My favourite was called Stags breath. Your fish and chips made my mouth water. Love you loads
Excellent Upload as always Mr Carrington. I myself and family more often than not stay at Premier Inns when we go away. I always like the consistency of the Premier Inn brand/ business including the room layouts , bars , breakfasts ect. We have mainly stayed in their Manchester and London Hotels . I always like to stay at the Premier Inn Euston when I visit London as it is quite central and I enjoy having a few drinks in the Hotel Bar in the evening looking out on to Euston Road before I go out for a meal, drink, walk round ect. I also stayed at The Clayton Manchester Airport Hotel which was really nice and reminded me of my stay at the Thistle Euston Hotel (now demolished for the HS2 project). It was nice to see the footage of your Train Journey on the way back featuring the Oxenholme Station/ sign as this is not far from where we are based also apologies if I,m wrong but that look like lancaster City that you passed through after. I'm familiar with areas of Bowerham , Greaves and Scotforth. Oh and yes we do enjoy Fish and Chips and have them most weekends. We have them with Mushy peas and I have Curry sauce. They are my Mum's favourite meal ! All the best Mr Carrington, Andrew.
Hello Mr. C, Thanks for taking use along on your fun fab journey. I take my fish & chips with malt vinegar & salt. Have you attended a “Military Tatoo” in the Castle? Cheers! 🥂
Went to Edinburgh a few year’s ago visited the castle and omg it was a killer walking to the top lol but loved seeing all the old building’s.loved watching as always. Fish and Chips just the best with salt and vinegar always watch you on Stephs packed lunch
love the video Mr c, i glad you came to Scotland to do the show hope you enjoy your time here I am from Scotland I am in a wee village called banknock Stirlingshire not far from falkirk about 6 or 7 miles from there I glad the weather held up for you to do your filming for the show. x ❤️
I live by the sea , East Coast of Yorkshire. You can't get any better than seaside fish & chips . Love tartar sauce with fish & chips , but chip shop curry is lovely too. The fish has to be haddock though not cod.
Good video,Cramond island in edinburgh is a nice place to visit, you have to look out for the tide times because you could get stuck out there and have to be rescured
My hubby proposed to me in Edinburgh at the top of Arthur’s seat.
aww lovely!
You would be a natural for either voice over or narration for travel shows, vlogs or documentaries.

Glasgow is my nearest city but I love having a weekend break in Edinburgh whenever I can .

10:28. The distant building in the middle of the background. It is Herriot-Watts School . And , seemingly , the model/ inspiration for Hogwart's.
Such a beautiful city. The UK, Scotland and Ireland are places I want to visit one day. Fish and chips are very popular here in Australia also. Love it with lemon and salt only.
Aaaaw gutted I missed you filming in Edinburgh, I’m glad you were able to experience Edinburgh in spring time - so beautiful!
That castle is friggin awesome , wish we had places like that in Australia.
Thanks for showing us👍🏻
Thank you for a lovely tour of Edinburgh on a Sunday afternoon.👍🏻❤️
Salt vinegar and curry sauce and mushy peas is my favourite fish and chips combo

There is another castle to visit called Craigmillar castle where Mary queen of Scots lived, the castle is near the royal infirmary hospital edinburgh
Thank you so much for taking us with you to Edinburgh, brings back many happy memories x
Thank you so much for this lovely tour of Edinburgh. Loved all of the architecture and the blossom trees ❤️ Edinburgh Castle is stunning!
Brilliant day you had for filming in my home city. The Royal Mile from Scottish Parliament up to the Castle. 😊🏴
Edinburgh is such a stunning city. Lots of salt and vinegar with tartar sauce or Mayo.
My home town! Always like seeing videos and pictures from other people as I think I take it a bit for granted living here! 😂

Brings back lots of fond memories of Edinburgh - thanks for the trip Iwan!
I live by the sea , East Coast of Yorkshire. You can't get any better than seaside fish & chips . Love tartar sauce with fish & chips , but chip shop curry is lovely too. The fish has to be haddock though not cod.
Looks beautiful! Hopefully, next year, we can take a trip there. You were a wonderful guide!
