Hi Matt, cause you said it could be used for towing a 2m glider I bought the Maule. I need to tell you that you were perfectly right. With 4 cells it is the perfect tug für my 1:7 scale Pilatus B4 with 1500gramms. Great job, thanks for such a nice plane!
As noted in reply your similar comment on the video regarding the Cherokee 1.3m: No problem...we've tested it many times in 100+ degree F temps! Also, every power system is very different depending on the motor size, Kv, prop size, cooling, etc. That in mind cell count has very little to do with the current rating of the ESC in general...it is far more dependent on the overall power system. For example, the E-flite A-10 Thunderbolt II Twin 64mm EDF uses 6S batteries and has 40-amp ESCs: ruclips.net/video/eCOqwSRs0Jc/видео.html And rest assured, if we recommend a particular cell count (or range of cell counts) for a power system, we have tested it THOROUGHLY to ensure it works reliably in almost all conditions!
Well heck. Guess a trip to the local hobby shop is in order this weekend. I wish I wasn't such a sucker for high wing planes. And to be STOL also! The wife hasn't told me to stop yet so this one will be in the rotation very soon. Great review.
I just bought one and the only thing I would change, is to have plug-in wings. The leads on my model are very short, making the connection awkward. I am actually currently in the process of converting mine to have plug-in wings using Emcotec 8 pin plugs.
Just talked to Eric yesterday, he answered any of my questions I had concerning this plane. It convinced me to sell my two Apprentice planes and order the Maule. Its just what I want. I live in Northern Michigan and its ALWAYS windy here. This plane is exactly what I need for my area. It should arrive by April 9th. Its supposed to snow this next week but by the time it comes, hopefully, I wont have to order skiis.
On another Maule video someone commented about this model: "A word of caution for this model. As an owner I’ve had some great flights but after a dozen or so I struck a problem. I started to have power drop offs ,after take off the plane lost power, only the motor, l still had power to rudder, airlons, and elevator. One of my club members suggested we do a test, to see how much power was been drawn from the battery. It’s there we found the problem, using a 3s it was drawing 43 amps ,a little more from a 4s. It’s only fitted with a 40amp e.s.c. So the result was the e.s.c. Only held out for the first dozen flights. The only fix available without changing the e.s.c. is to drop the size of the prop." Can you comment on the above statement please, because I really want to buy this model! Thank you!
Are those the same floats as the Apprentice? they appear to be. I have a set on mine so I would know. I used a servo on the rudder instead of that cable system the Apprentice has.
hi every body fm Athens.. two questions pls..can u advise me which is the correct cg because acc. the manual there is a big gap fm 55-65 mm and also which is the correct battery for this model.. 3cells or 4cells lipo battery and how many mha???
Hey Alex, how old are you and what are you doing there? You do give a ridiculous impression of a schoolgirl with your phone, which is, on the top of that, controling you ... Second point please listen to your collegue instead of simulating any kind of giving attention. Please HH, give a chance to someone else presenting your so good models !
Hands down best plane for the money!!! So strange, fast and stable. Yet can hover and looks absolutely beautiful!!! Please please do a maule 2!!!!

Excellent scale detail !!
...I would prefer a traditional yellow and black scheme.
Frank Napolitano I can see this plane much better than black and yellow.
Well done with this plane u knocked it out of the park with this one looking forward to owning it ☺👍👍👍

Do all maule come with floats
I will be putting a reversing esc on this so I can run the motor backwards.
Awesome finally a scale airplane that is not blue :)
Man, I can’t wait to review this one. What a beaut!
All I can say is..... I'm drooling. Gonna have to get this one!
Where can I get one for that price
I got mine and they ran out right afterwards. I am sure they have more now.
How do the flaps work? Mine stay down all the time?
will this be good plane as a trainer?
Gene Sultan I talked to Eric at Horizon and he said no. The apprentice is a better choice. This is more of an intermediate.
Hi Matt, Is there a reason that we here in Australia cannot pre order this or any other new aircraft?
Are those the same floats as the Apprentice? they appear to be. I have a set on mine so I would know. I used a servo on the rudder instead of that cable system the Apprentice has.
Nope. These are designed specifically for the Maule!
HorizonHobbyProducts ok.
@horizonhobbyproducts can you fly this plane without any stabilisation help like the as3x or safe mode, so without ANY help?
If you leave the bind plug in the AR636 receiver all ASX if set to off.

Waho nice plane ✈, fantastic video, thanks for sharing 👍 👍 👍
Is one wing servo reversed?
No all servos are regular none are reversed.
omg the host makes me anxious...
Rtf version?
When available without floats?
why would you want it without floats?
Say whattttt????
Will this a/c support a flysky transmitter in 6 chnl.
Hey horizon can you bring back the park zone um icon please? I loved it
File's Flyin' I agree. I am still looking for one. I have the large version, new in box original.
If you make a scale plane.... make tho floats scale too! Those floats look terrible....I own the timber it’s got sum what scale floats at least.
They look great to me!!! flys super good with them too!!
NICE AIRPLANE ??????$$$$$$$
Mr Drone I ordered mine today. should have it by the 9th.
