Great information, the VA pay me only from my filing date not the intent of file date. I am waiting for the decision leter to find out if have a bone to pick with the VA. The VA did that on my last claim but I did not want to go through the hassle since it was a couple of $K, but now I am realizing the VA might be doing Shanagan with people's disabilities. Thanks for the Video

I FILED FOR INCREASE IN JANUARY 2023. HAD C AND P EXAMS IN FEBRUARY AND WAS RATED AT 90 PERCENT BY MAY. HOWEVER THE VA SENT ME TO ANOTHER ROUND OF C AND P EXAMS IN JUNE. I CALLED AND ASKED THEM WHY AND THEY TOLD ME BECAUSE THE FIRST ROUND OF EXAMS DIDNT COLLECT INFORMATION NEEDED TO DETERMINE UNEMPLOYABILITY. AFTER I ATTENDED THE SECOND ROUND OF EXAMS I WAS GIVEN 100 PERCENT C AND P BUT THE EFFECTIVE DATE WAS THE DATE OF THE LATEST EXAMS INSTEAD OF THE DATE I FILED FOR INCREASE.
NOW THEY CLEARLY TOLD ME ON THE PHONE THAT THE SECOND ROUND OF EXAMS WERE IN CONNECTION WITH MY INCREASE SO WHY ISNT MY EFFECTIVE DATE THE DATE I FILED FOR INCREASE?

Going through something similar. Did you receive any responses/verifications?

So I filed in 2018 a secondary claim and was denied the same year 2018. Filed an appeal with the VBA in 2019 a week or two before the year mark.
VBA came back without ever sending me to a DBQ and awarded 10% with back pay in Dec of 2023.
Sent me to a C&P exam in February of 2024 the doctor sided in my favor (medical opinion) and they made the effective date February of 2024 instead of back paying me the other 40% from 2018! I’m pissed!
    What do I do?

So, does that intent to file expire when your claim gets settled and then you have to file another intent to file for the supplementals? Or does that original intent to file stay onboard/active for the supplemental claims to follow within the same year?
