Mondays are mostly off days for wet market bro. My place under the block shop and wet market same days close. I guess it's a normal practice in Singapore.
Hi, the famous duck rice, they don't open on Monday , was it when u visited on that day ,😁✌️, oh sad 🙏🏻 , that's stall also my favourite food , yummy 👍🏻😋❤️!!!
Welcome back to yishun, Chong pang.. there are a few blks closed for development plans :D u are so near to my house. If u walk further up, there's Chong pang nasi lemak at night time, ice cream shop and very nice nasi bryani banana leaf opposite my house too
6:50 had their dry kway teow since I was a kid, probably more than 20 years and would always had it with the otah from the sliced fish stall. 7:20 my all times favourite, whenever my mom went to Chong pang to do some "marketing" which means getting some fresh meat/seafood from the wet market, she would get this sliced fish soup with thick beehoon for lunch, and I would always paired the sliced fish thick beehoon with otah. and the store directly behind this stall, which is a dim sum stall, love their lor mai kai, also had it for twenty years. nowadays seldom get to eat these ever since covid hit, as she used to visit this hawker centre in the morning daily and would takeaway lunch for me, but since covid hit, she didn't frequent to Chong pang as to get here have to take free shuttle bus to Sembawang shopping centre, then to Chong pang which a lot of time and tend to be packed/crowded.
The mee hoon kueh soup (stall with the red signboard, right beside the popiah stall) is my fave! Chuan Kee duck rice is a branch of ghim moh’s i believe. There’re also nice stalls that open only at night too - there’s a satay beehoon cum bak chor mee stall (Guan Heng Cooked Food) and the satay stall along the first row facing the toilets that my family and I like too.
Pork stalls are closed in wet markets on Mondays and subsequently a lot of stalls choose to rest on Mondays😅😅😅I think this is not the first time u visit a hawker on a Mon and commented a lot are closed. That's not fermented it's preserved radish and fried shallots. Preserved radish are added to fried carrot cakes too. My favourite chee kuey chain. Mango season is here😁
love the shui kway, which was topped with cai po, whenever my mom buys this, would request her to fried it with egg to became fried carrot cake, its heavenly delicious,
Bad day to visit a wet market and the food centre within wet market, more than 50% of the stalls in the food centre will be closed due to wet market closed on Monday
はじめまして~、私のなませアニさんです。Omg Ojisan, finally you make my dream come true by showing me yishun food area when i was been live there 21 years ago. yishun avenue 5 flat block 706. and the KFC store i was always visited before🥰ありがとうございます🙏 よろしくおねがいしますね。
Ghib, no need to use hand sanitizer but up to u. Nowadays I use water to wash hands,no more using soap. Soap not so good for my hands. I also bring disposable spoon.
Must try Chuan Kee dry duck kway teow or their duck porridge. To me, these are much better than their duck rice. Most hawker stalls are closed on Mon in Singapore.
Hi Ghib, fish markets are normally closed on Mondays. Same for many hawker stalls. Its their rest day.

The prawn Mee in Chong pang is very nice. Usually long queue. But there was no queue that day when u went. It's a popular stall.
The mutton soup at the corner is excellent? Malay stalls, must try the mee rebus and lontong.

Hi Ghib the chwee kueh topping is actually dried radish (preserved with salt).

Omo I love the duck rice too!! Sad that it was closed when you went, but on the bright side you didn't have to queue 😂

You need to give it a try for duck rice at 全记 stall which was close during your filming.
Should check Chong Pang coffee shops as there's a very famous Char Siew stall there
