New Mack Granite / Leach 2RIII Garbage Truck Crushing Yard Waste

- Here's a truck I've been meaning to catch for awhile: one of Unity Disposal's brand new Leach rear loaders that they purchased for yard waste collection. With the warm weather finally returning, I was finally able to catch one on a decently full greens route. I'm really glad that Unity keeps their trucks in such great condition, and these Leaches especially really stand out and look super sharp. Unity's new Leaches are also the first trucks I've seen with the new 2RIII blade style, which looks pretty cool as well. Enjoy this fast and awesome crew packing a heavy greens route!

Those gorgeous tree cuttings at 9:48, feel so sad for them being cut and then taking away and compacted like that. Wish I could have saved them. Those poor plants.

Nice job Tyler! This truck and crew together go super well! Unity has such an awesome way of spec’ing their trucks! Their colors are great especially on a new Leach. Fast crews make for a neat video, and its cool there’s so much yard waste to around. Glad they were nice, and it was funny when the driver put on that mask haha.

Dude who’s driving needs to be getting way closer to the cans. Not efficient that the person in the back is having to run 5 feet to the curb every stop

nice truck, nice color to... but wow climbing all the way up and down in that HIGH cab setup is a work out for sure... a lower cab to exit from reduces risk of injury
That is true, it'd be cool to see a low entry truck for these routes, but the new Mack Granites still look super sharp

You already know that they tagged that bin the second they saw it.
What do they wind up doing with the yard waste?
It gets dumped at a composting facility in the county, is processed, and then gets bagged and sold at local retailers as compost and mulch.

I like the design but that loader needs to learn how to run the blade a little better and let it go down all the way before he closes it

No limit on yard waste?? How many times a day are you guys dumping ?
Unlimited. Year round too, so it really fluctuates from practically nothing in the winter to almost every house in the summer and fall. Not sure how many loads they get, but it wouldn't surprise me if they get 2 or 3 in the heavy months.
