Margaret is a beautiful, very long time resident of Chama. I spent a night or 2 in her house as a kid...don't ask why. Lol. Back in those days you had to make ammends...sometimes it wasn't what you expected lol. As a kid that walked by her house everyday from school in the 70s and 80s...I never really appreciated her yard and flowers etc. But now when I really think about it...yes I did. Our property was next door...and those memories will never leave me. She made the best popcorn balls for Halloween...little things like that are what really make a community. I hope she is having a great life still.
I lived in Chama NM in 1977 thru 1980. I lived a block from her. My husband Mike used to work for her husband Cliff restoring an old piano. She was a lovely lady. Beautiful home and garden.
Timely - I'm in Albuquerque for the Memorial Day weekend and enjoy learning about NM. Headed to Taos on Monday for a week then Colorado in my ol' Casita.....interesting to meet this nice lady who has made an interesting life in Charma. Thanks for the video.
I definitely enjoyed the food in New Mexico. Especially at Espanola's La Cocina and Taos' .... Taos Diner 2. Yes, Taos Diner 2 is across from the street from the ubiquitous McDonald's.
the story about Margaret's second husband suiting her after losing her first husband could be the story of a novel - what an interesting life....thanks for sharing.
