I love the art and mechanical connections between the left and right sides of the cards. It takes what could have been a very dry left/right choice and adds wonderful flavor.
Hi, many thanks for the video! Just wanted to ask - after round 5, where one Mission is failed, you draw another Mission card. Is this any special rule? As it is written, that you can't put another Mission card after a Mission is failed, or am I wrong? Thanks again:)
My crowdfunded edition just arrived & founded your playthrough. Very helpful. An ingenious mechanism that provides an enjoyable and challenging victory conditions. Great review!
Thank you soooo much for the complete Maquis Draft. I bought the game in italien language and now I can understand each card :). The enemy and civilian cards I already learned and the mission cards I nearly got all as well. Good game by the way :))
Thank you for the great preview. I already backed the game before I watched your video, but it surely helped to convince me that I made a good decision. 🙃
I love the art! Reminds me of the video game "Warsaw". I wonder if the artist was at all inspired by that game? I haven't even watched past 10 minutes and I may need to get this just because I like the art so well.
Looks like a fun game and I like the history. I wish at least one of the maquis was an American member of the Lincoln brigades and that there was some more historical flavor including the factions in the united front with communists and anarchists etc. The game Land and Freedom seems to be the big game to play if you are interested in the history, but that is a big game and, oddly, only for 3 players which is an unusual player count. Also it is much more expensive. So, I think I will order a copy of this one instead. The one to compare with this one is the small solo game called Maquis, which is about the French resistance. I have Maquis, but I play it mostly as an app in my iPad, which works very well. It is very difficult to win. This one seems easier.
Thanks Mike looks great Pleased the game has passed the target, but the international postage situation is getting out of hand. Though decided to jump in The game is lighthearted given the brutality of the conflict, but at the same time, I was charmed by it. It felt like I was reading one of the comics we used to have in the UK back in the 60s and 70s. Would have been fab to read the exploits of this plucky gang of Maquis up against their foes in the Spanish Civil War. lol

Great preview! Although "Resist!" is what my wife yells whenever I see one of your kickstarter previews 😁
Lol! You better listen!
Thanks for the laugh, Christian. The struggle is real. 😄

Absolutely! Really elevates the basic “5-card hand management” puzzle here

Nope, you are correct. And then I made the same error in my Witchcraft! preview. For some reason that rule doesn’t stay in my head 😅
Well, it definitely stayed in mine:) I have also backed Witchcratf!, I have to be patient now.
Thanks for covering this game and sharing your impressions! I backed the game as well. It is a visually stunning game indeed.
Glad it was helpful
Best preview video so far for this game
Glad it was helpful/enjoyable!

Backed this myself really love the art work and seems to play great..Great review..👍
Thanks, and yeah, this one is a winner. It’s nice that basically the entire game is done too, so no surprises waiting

Haha, happy to help confirm ;)
Very excited for this!

It really is beautiful, but I think the mechanics are lots of fun too
@@OneStopCoopShop Yes it does look like a fun little game!
My copy arrived a few days ago!
Must be one of the fastest crowdfunding turn arounds lol
That's what I was thinking too! I covered it in MAY. CRAZINESS!!
Agreed! Great solo game!

How are the scanarios ?
Tough? Repayable?
I just got my “real” copy, so I’ll let you know when I review it. The couple I played while it was in previews seemed good
Thanks Mike looks great

Though decided to jump in

If you make the comic I’ll buy it ;)
"Designed by David Thompson as well as some other folks". I would be upset if I were one of those folks!
I should have paused recording and looked it up!
Backed it! Love the art on the cards! At this point I almost don't care if the game is actually good.
Luckily both the art AND the game are great ;)
So you know how intimidating it was to try to make sure the quality of the gameplay was equal to that of the art?
