- We have some very exciting news to share with all of you...to prepare for our little baby to come into the world - we have bought a house :O!!
We are so thankful that due to the support of our friends, family and our community of Flying the Nesters that this was possible, we understand that this is all happening during these crazy times but as this was such a special day for us and our future kids to look back on we wanted to document the process of us finding and buying our first family home, picking our our crib and preparing our little girls nursery.
We cannot say thank you enough to everyone for making this possible.
This marks a new little chapter in our lives as we "Nest the Nest" to prepare for our little girl to arrive and hopefully in the near future when these world events calm down we can resume travel again.

I cried at this 😭 my partner and I are currently living in a little unit on his mums property with three dogs. Us and our belongings are crammed. This year was the year I planned for us to travel so that we can then focus on settling down and sorting a home and (hopefully) children. I’m 30 and always dreamed of being a young mum but it’s just never happened 💔and now with the current climate it’s all a mess.
I’m so happy for you guys! Thankyou for always bringing the smiles and laughs (and random tears haha) when I need it! Congratulations!!!!

Aw! Congrats guys! My partner and I bought our first little house six months ago, after living in a teeny-tiny granny flat apartment. On the plus side, we didn't have too much to many boxes to move and managed to get it all in within 2 days. That first night was soo exciting! We had pizza and champagne and just enjoyed it... then woke up the next day and unpacked like crazy! xox

Wonderful news and I totally agree get pregnant and you don't have to do anything, end of October when I was 8 months pregnant we had our whole downstairs renovated, walls down, ceiling raised, new kitchen etc and I got to move back to mums while it was all being done! Came home it was all done and our son was born November 25th!

This video actually had me cry as my husband and I are trying to buy our first house for half a year now and we've been unsuccessful so far but I am so happy for you guys 🤩🤩 when we moved into our first rented apartment right after the wedding, we bought the bed first (and a fridge) so we wouldn't sleep on the floor, maybe try that for the next house 😂 even tho probably the sleeping on the floor thing has its charm 😁 enjoy this new exciting chapter of your life, guys!!! ❤️

It's quite clear, no matter where you are in the world... somethings stay the same. My wife and I also slept on a mattress on the floor in our living room on our first night in our home surrounded by moving boxes here in California. I can tell you 30 years later, the magic never fades when you own your own place, you will always "love" coming home from your travels.
Congrats!!!! My girlfriend and me are planning to live together in a same house too!! It's so touching when you guys checking that birth test!

Loved this vlog. When i bought my house, I had to immediately rip up all the carpets because they were soaked in nicotine from the previous owners. So i was on the concrete floor and kept having to get up to kill an alarming amount of spiders and scorpions (didn't even know we had them in Australia!) that were getting in through the space the carpet would usually fill. It was so stressful. Two years later and I love it so much. Congratulations you guys.

I never thought I would be onto our second, but you learn a lot, having one that you find other things you want to have in the next house. And once you have one, you discover that you can move onto another one! Good Luck with everything!

So... we actually sold our last homes in 2016 to live small so we can live big travel more, less debt, you know, and ironically we were researching our travel destinations on youtube when we discovered travel vlogging and flying the nest! So happy for you guys to have a nest with the upcoming arrival of your little bundle of joy! Very exciting times for you all! AND yes it is very customary to sleep on a mattress on the floor for your first night!

First time my husband and I bought a house I was pregnant with our second boy. We had a queen size mattress on the floor next to a twin size mattress for our 4 year old in the same room. I remember rolling out of bed and trying to get up. soo much fun. Good luck to the both of you. Can't wait to see your new addition to the family. Be well.

The whole family slept on the floor in the living room the first night we moved into our second house. We had moved to a new city and all our furniture didn't arrive until the following day. My wife and I and our 2 kids aged 6 and 9 slept on air mattresses that first night. Will never forget. Congratulations on buying your first home, you wont want to leave!

I just wanted to say that I love all your videos and you both are such nice, genuine people. When my husband and I were moving into our first home, we ended up getting the keys a couple of days earlier than expected and so we decided to use those two days to paint the home. We were way too excited to wait until the move in day so we brought a couple of blankets and pillows and slept in the empty house. It was awesome!!!
Congratulations Jess and Steve on your first home. May it be a place filled with laughter, love and special memories. The day we got keys to our first home we ate Indian take away on the living room floor as we hadn't moved our furniture in yet, but we were just too excited to wait.

I did the same thing....bought a house while on vacation in South Dakota.....OMG agree its nuts to do but I did it! The next three months was the 4000 sq. Feet of new floors.....paint etc.....then sleeping in the house in sleeping bags in the living area. 25 years later we sold the house on skype....1st day listed and full price.
