I finally got to meet Tracy when we did the 30 year tribute at the Country Music Hall of Fame. I was in the band and got to play guitar and sing harmony for all the artists that night.
That must have been one hell of an experience 👌🏻
I've heard so many versions of this song. But this is the only one that matches the original. Nobody has a more perfect voice

Tracey has some serious talent. I seen him him concert and he sounds exactly like his albums and not many singers can do that. I think he got a bad rap from his legal troubles.

I thought that was an iron man action figure over his right shoulder at first glance. When I was in school I rode the bus with a brother and sister who said their dad was good friends with Mr. Lawrence... Keith Whitley passed away on 5/9/1989 at age 34. July 1, 1954 - May 9, 1989
He woke up and talked to his mother on the phone and was visited by his brother-in-law.
They had coffee and planned a day of golf and having lunch. Whitley planned to write songs for Lorrie Morgan and himself to record.
Lane Palmer departed the house at 8:30 AM and told Whitley to be ready to leave within an hour.
Upon returning, Palmer found Whitley unresponsive and called 911 for an ambulance. Whitley was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Cause of death was alcohol poisoning. .47 was his alcohol level. He would also drink 409, Windex, cologne, shampoo, and nail polish remover to get intoxicated.

Keith passed away on May 9th 1989. My birthday is May 11. My worst birthday ever. I was about to turn 25. I'm watching this video of Tracy Lawrence. I'm over you.
