- The Shaw-Speed team have been behind some of the most impressive custom Harley-Davidson builds. Their latest Battle Of The Kings entry, built by Neil Sefton, is named 'The Mustard' a custom XL Forty-Eight that we hope to see at our Bike Shed London 2019 show in May.

Actually, just watched this video again. Raising the seat and piping the exhausts up above the frame is genius! Fixes the perennial sportster bone line issues a treat!

Really nice, brilliantly finished. Compact and streamlined, sits well. Looks like a production model. Harley designers would do well to run some of the design features in their new models. Great exhausts, the wheel trims are really effective. Like the name. You should ask Colmans if they would sponser you ! The only thing for me that doesn't work, is the headlamp and "mudgaurd" nacelle . I would like to see more of a torpedo shape.

Wozer!!!! That's a nice lemon!! Say what type of rear shocks are you using? Are they for looks or do they really calm the bumps down? And also how long are they please?
Rarely does a Harley get me interested! Love the exhaust, the overall design balance. I wish the exhaust note was a bit deep. The gap between the seat and the tank is a bit too much for my liking, nice effort overall.

Beautiful bike man, but those tyres????? . Don't know if I'd ride it on those tyres , they don't look confidence inspiring , especially if you get caught out in the rain. Maybe they'd be fine.

yes, and stage 1 2 3 4, you can have 120hp with lot of torque! but you have to upgrade suspension etc
$1000 bucks and I had my twin cam from 2006 running with right around 100hp 110tq
If Harley made that with a bit more ground clearance they’d sell like hotcakes.

Love the bike. Love the Colour. Love the Exhaust. Love the fairing,,,,,but I hate those dog s*^t tires. Way to ruin the bike. Would be so much safer and more fun with modern rubber, as opposed to a tread pattern dating back to when most boomers were born.

I was under the impression " THE BIKE SHED" was about home built bikes, not money no object bikes. I remember when Dutch started, has he turned £ over substance? And sold out. All these bikes are 20k + that's not what shed built tells me.
Hi Anthony, Dutch here. We cover custom and new wave bikes, full stop, and always have. Some are shed-built and many are pro built - and it's been that way since I started the blog in 2011, which continued to our annual shows, and now in our space and on RUclips. Nothing has changed at all, we are just a bit bigger. ...Feel free to delve back through the archive online and you'll see builds from the likes of Shaw Speed and Custom back in 2012, and may many more. Shed-builds are fantastic, but they are - and always have been - just one part of the many things we do - along with track days, dirtbike riding, a members club, gear & apparel, events, etc etc etc...
@@BikeShedMotoCo you have to admit, the high price bikes are showing no imagination, just bits bolted together, the budget bikes are some of the best ones, and most ridable. I've been involved with bikes for 35years, and these high priced bikes, are just lame. That Shaw Sportster is offensive to the eye, and the intellengence. What's going wrong in the world?. I know 100% it's just a passing fashion, I've seen long forks, chopped frames, 40 degree rakes, Matt black paint, street fighters, and now this. Bobbers, the shame is guys are ruining future classics to make bikes that in the future will be worthless, The Bike Shed idea I thought was great, bikes that had no value being turned into something of substance, but what we are seeing now is high priced new and classics being stripped.
The Guzzi I built in 95 was a ground up, with parts from write offs either painted of polished. The cost of building it was minimal, it ran rode and handled spot on, and it was legal. These things?
Your perspective is perfectly valid. All we are doing is sharing the hard work of our community, shed, pro and semi.... Some people like expensive custom Harleys, and others prefer Japanese Sheds. Our editorial strategy is pretty much unchanged since the day we started, and views like yours first appeared on day 1 too. ... As long as people ride motorcycles and love the culture, then I'm happy that we are doing a good job, but we will never please everyone, and nor should we expect to.
To me the cost of this build is irrelevant because it's a "Battle of the Kings" build, created by H-D as a marketing opportunity for their main Dealers to show-off their in-house custom builds, with a pre-set budget using a pre-agreed model. ...Having judged BOTK in previous years, this one is quite imaginative and bold, in my honest view. ...I actually like it, despite the silly tyres and lack of a front mudguard.
@@BikeShedMotoCo Dear Dutch, I'm a big modified bike fan. And it's good to see, but I think it's irresponsibly to promote bikes with suspect lighting and totally illegal from the point or veiw of construction and use. Wouldn't it be nice to see some practical bikes, made to be ridden?

All the time is a bit of a stretch... just 6% of the 132 videos we've produced feature a Harley. We currently have no commercial relationship with Harley-Davidson so unfortunately that's unfounded too. This is pathetic, all the money a Harley dealer has, and this is what they build. I had a very meagre income and updated my 883 to 1200 gas flowed the heads myself and fitted a Stortz body kit, with rear sets flat bars and twin dellorto carb on a made by myself manifold, as a lot of parts.
But the bike I built that won Back street heros bike of the year in 1995, that was something else, ground up. Not this bolt together scrap.
