Wow, you could do pretty much anything you wanted with that many acres! Just try not to get into too many new things at once. Don't want to over do it and get overwhelmed or burned out ;)
@@WilsonHomestead very true! My husband works long hours at work so it’s usually just me and my son (almost 13) I think our major plan for this next spring is produce and herbs ! We’re in Kentucky so we have a pretty decent growing season !!
Yeah that's an awesome goal! Just start with that and see how it goes. Then next year do a little more and keep adding ;) We are all on different stages of this journey! It's really great that your son can be learning about all this type of stuff, off to a great start!

Thank you for the tip of adding coconut oil and the and the amount of drops of essential oils into 1 lb of bee wax. Personal experience, it helps to spray or wipe jars with Jojoba oil or almond oil to prevent cracks and should poor all at one go to prevent it to have a rim that shows where you stopped and topped it up, when pooring bee wax into clear glass containers.
Just a little FYI I made a candle in a vintage bone china teacup.I have a lot of them luckily from fam dinners growing up.Anyway looked beautiful glowing through the cup then got so hot it broke /:
Which wicks have less odor as some indicated that these give off an overpowering odor? Also, can I use any vegetable oil instead, which one produces less odor?

have a question for you and I hope to hear from you if you have time! I’m currently making beef Tallow Candles but I’m having a difficult time finding a cost effective way to add scent. I have used essential oil‘s but I have to use over 60 drops to even get a smell. I don’t want to use fragrance oils because they’re not natural. Would you recommend that I mix the tallow with another fat like coconut oil? Do you think these two would mix well or is there another one you would recommend?
Hi! Yes adding scent with essential oils can get really expensive! Coconut oil and tallow would mix just fine, it might give off a slightly coconut scent if you use unrefined coconut oil, which I feel like would smell really nice. I love using cacao butter too because it gives a delicious chocolate scent! So you can use different oils like that to add scent without being too expensive, but there isn't as many options as with essential oil.
I have never used soy wax for candle making so I'm actually not sure. I generally only use beeswax and coconut oil because I'm trying to use as healthy and natural of ingredients as possible, and soy isn't as healthy. But there are a ton of good soy candle recipes online that should be really easy to find. Sorry I couldn't be of more help! Blessings!

Does the addition of coconut/coco butter oils lessen the shelf life of the candles. I put candles back for emergencies too.
Is your chocolate butter natural or refined？

Can you make this as a soy wax candle as well? Instead of using beeswax?
I'm sure you could! :) I just try to stay away from soy for everything so I like the beeswax the best.

A quick google will tell you why everything but beeswax is bad.
Soy is extremely estrogenic, it’s not good
