I hate that it's leaked and at the moment I have avoided spoilers. Did know about the "Tears" art book leak but I activity looked into that directly a couple of weeks ago. I just disabled seeing RUclips response comments to my comments just in case. Spoilers can be out anywhere. Thanks for your video.
Yeah it’s rough out there. You have to be very careful. Like I mentioned in the video I had to be careful even when researching the story not to see a spoiler by accident.
I saw a screenshot of the opening sequence, and I want a lobotomy to exorcise that memory so I can experience it fresh. The story is the reason I care about the game. Being part of _The Legend of Zelda_ is enough, and I really don't want to know about the story before I experience it firsthand.
As someone who was in the server which leaked the game, essentially someone's copy arrived early, then they sold it for 300 dollars, it was dumped online and distributed via a download on that discord server, which no longer exists as Nintendo destroyed it shortly after, but now tons of people have the rom. The only thing I'll say about the game itself is that the hype is actually so worth it, you will LOVE this game so much.
I unfortunately looked on youtube before I knew it got leaked and saw the title screen, and what I assume what the very start of the game (which contained a MAJOR spoiler)
Putting something out there early that people have worked hard on for 6 years is just wrong. And it's one thing to download a 20 year game rom that nobody cares about anymore, but it's a completely different story downloading an early leaked version of such a big game. Everyone who get caught fully deserves it. On the other hand, I don't see why these people would have ruined the game for millions of people? If I don't want to get spoiled, I don't read stuff, I don't watch stuff or I just turn off my devices for 2 weeks. I don't get why people have to play the victim here.
Experiencing story = experiencing game. I think story is very important thing in games if you want to be fully immersed in the character that you're playing.
I think that’s different for every person and in many different for every game. There’s really no wrong way for anyone to feel for themselves. That’s a completely logical way to prefer your game experiences! For me I still view TotK as a game where I’d prefer to avoid story spoilers, but I don’t need to avoid them to enjoy it. It’s a game where “playing it” trumps the story. That’s my personal approach.
I'll be honest, I went ahead and downloaded the game. I'm usually against piracy, but I've waited faaaaar too long to have the game spoiled for me a week before launch. Honestly, I'd suggest that anyone who has a decent computer/hacked switch also play the game... but MAKE SURE you actually buy the game if you do. It wouldn't be right if you don't buy the game.
i seen 3 different videos. each covering the first 20 mins. playing different hardware. no spoilers. on a normal clocked switch, combat has serious fps drops on an over clocked switch, fps has a stable 30 fps and on an emulator a person managed to get tears of the kingdom to play at 1444p 33-35 fps. Honestly though, if i hadn't seen the first 20 mins of game, i wouldn't have purchased it. I hadn't seen anything about tears of the kingdom since it's original announcement trailer from 5 years.
I don’t want to be spoiled on just story it’s more then that, I’m so excited to see the changes to Hyrule and there’s a bunch of areas that I have in my head that I want to visit as soon as I hit the ground. Having those things spoiled, would hurt even more then having the story spoiled. P.S.: having worked retail, we get games about 2 weeks early (God of War Ragnarok for example, we had about 2 weeks before release) so tbh there’s a million ways it could’ve been leaked.
Some idiot claims zelda dies in TOTK which is complete BS. Ine theory going around is that zelda sacrifices herself to restore Hyrule. .although I don't believe either of those.
I scare it spoils the Discoveries not story in Zelda they still can spoil how to beat boss how to pass puzzles that’s more I concern. When I play BOTW first time I encounter Lynel it’s really fun but if I got spoiled and know how to fight it that’s too much for me. I’m side with group that not do bad thing no matter how big or small they are.
I found the leaked rom and tbh I'm probably just going to go ahead and play it to minimize the chance of getting spoiled online. Still going to buy the game next Friday so I don't feel bad about it. Just trying to watch my own back.
I think for me, it's an accumulation of many little spoilers that could suck the fun out of it for me and so story spoilers are gonna hit pretty hard because that's one more thing I don't get to discover on my own. But, it is true that every little slice of gameplay tips the scales away from me getting to explore at my own pace and have moments of discovery for myself.
Here is what happens in the end. Im just joking because i don't like the game, but in all seriousness you are afraid of spoilers as if someone can spoil a sandbox game with no story.
I still can’t believe these idiots keep spoiling the game.. if they haven’t learned by now then they never will.. I hope Nintendo finds them and makes yet another example of them
100% agree with you about the story of Halo, Zelda and Metroid being " not that important " . I also mostly play those games for their awesome gameplay !! Out of the subject but what's your thought on Armored Core 6 ? Are you excited about this game ? :)
At first I was going to disagree with you but thinking more about it I think those three games in particular are known for their formulaic gameplay so it would make sense. Heck Metroid even has a genre of games named after it. Well played my man well played.
Nintendo was expecting leaks. No question about that. I imagine they put their whole team of lawyer/ (Ninjas) on high alert for these two weeks. They’re going to work overtime.
I really like your thoughts and approach to it and definitely agree completely. It almost doesn’t matter to me in what order things in this zelda game are revealed to me. Cause there are just so many new things that are going to emerge all at once from all sides and corners, and it will be an all encompassing hype experience for me. ❤ Even seeing others’ reactions to stuff i may have already seen will be so cool!
@@IHitTheWaterAnyone who buys the collectors edition can look at the book before playing the game, Nintendo knows that so they didn’t put major spoilers in there. It’s just bits and pieces out of context. Nothing that spoils gameplay or story elements. Knowing a few new characters, enemies or outfits I don’t consider spoilers. I guess some people might. I know when it releases, but now that people are playing it illegally it’s difficult to avoid spoilers. So they may as well let us all play it is my point.
Im sure they are very careful, but all it takes is one person to leak it and it spreads through the internet. Physical copies, once it gets to stores, it only takes an employee willing to "acquire" copies early, nintendo can put security at every store location. Hoepfully they will do what they did with metroid dread. Digital only for 2 weeks, then physical is released.

Speculation and theory is all nice and good but I'm just to used to Nintendo's way off showing things and the things we saw on the Trailer #3 had the chance off not being what we thought they were. Yep. Depends on the game, but a game this massive to me would still be playable even if I saw spoilers.
