Because, it must be hard to do so if you've never been drunk or high. (Assuming that she hasn't been either before) And that was the extent of the conversation about drugs. And he certainly wasn't digging for a response. They spoke about drugs for literally 30 seconds, and immediately changed the topic.

True, she sure doesn't have to, it most certainly is her life, and her interview. She can indeed choose to better herself in the future or not. If you knew how people in her position affect the decisions of others, you may change your nonchalant attitude about the subject. These individuals have a very powerful influence on society. Having a basically responsible interview wouldn't be playing parent to every child. Also, I never said she should be passing out D.A.R.E. Pamphlets, or the like.

It can build such an unworthy trust to acceptance, in an extraordinarily devastating domino effect of action, among people. Doing drugs is not a smart thing to do, even if you decide to do them on your own accord. Drugs really can hurt you. One huge mistake, is thinking you can keep getting away with doing just a little.
