    I had about 8000 shares of Matterport from 2-2.80. That was one of the better Monday mornings I've had in a while.

    Great video, very in depth.
    I own 14.6K at $6.37. I’ll continue averaging down until the deal is complete, I like CoStar a lot. I believe MTTR is the perfect fit for CoStar and they will do great things with Matterports technology.
    Maybe we see a counter offer though, you never know. Either way, I still believe in MTTR.

    Thank you for the reply and I understand. We'll wait and see. I really hope MTTR thrives under CoStar.

    Fantastic analysis Emily! Very insightful. I was able to average down to $3.19 a share (2500 total shares) a few days prior to the announcement. Any advice on a long term position play?

      you know, I've been thinking a lot about this. Congrats on the prescient averaging, I was thinking about it last week too, but it would have taken a lot of shares :) I am really not sure yet, but I am going to do a Part 2 of this analysis. I think that it will be the million dollar question...what does CSGP want with the actual data, because that's the value and of course, the software that Matterport has on the backend, but I am still struggling to see how Matterport is going to compete against the commodification of reality capture with NERFs, splats, and so many other types of capture, especially since their accuracy is still so low for an industry standard. I will continue to think about it and share some more thoughts. But kudos on the big position, I think you're in good shape!

    How many shares of CoStar will people receive who currently hold Matterport?

    • @HopscotchInteractive

      Hi Jake, I think that there's a 10% symmetrical collar on the current CoStar Group price, so I believe that you'll get $2.75 for every share of MTTR, so if it's within 10% of $86.02 up or down or so, you'll get (#MTTR x $2.75 / $86.02 = CSGP) something like that, plus $2.75 in cash ($5.50 total), so if I had 100 MTTR stocks I would get $275 towards the stock and then divide that by the share price, and you'd have 3.20 CSGP shares, plus $275. I am pretty sure that's the math - but please correct me if you read another formula!

      I have 350 MTTR at 3.5$ average price. Now the stock price is 4.7$.
      When the buyout goes through, will I get approximately 11 Costar stocks ?

    • @HopscotchInteractive
      @HopscotchInteractive  6 месяцев назад +3

      @@jayshah8383yes! That’s my understanding and you would also get that same dollar equivalent in cash…I am not sure how that gets paid, and maybe you have the option to roll that into CSGP? I don’t really know, but congrats. Most people I know, especially early investors only lost money on the stock because they bought in much higher (myself included), so congratulations you will make a profit!

    Question? I have 106 shares at $16.76. Would it be worth me averaging down? Id have to buy 1306 shares at $4.58 or $4.57 to average it down to $5.49. Thoughts?

    • @HopscotchInteractive
      @HopscotchInteractive  5 месяцев назад +1

      I’m not sure it’s a good idea unless you want to get back half that money as cash anyways since they will pay out $5.50 half as cash and half as costar stock. I think the bigger question is how much is the value of costar group stock now after this acquisition and do they really know how to extract the value from digital twins and 3d data??? I am skeptical

      @@HopscotchInteractive thank you very much. I really didn't think about it like that so I will most likely eat the loss and write it off to offset my salary with overtime. I did that this year for last year and basically recouped a little back in essence. Not ideal but seems like the play for me.

    I have a question? Are they gonna merge stocks or still under different companies? Because my average is high!! If they pay $5.5 i think i ll lose money! My average is $10 and i have 700 shares. Can you explain to me pls this situation? I confused 🤔

    • @HopscotchInteractive
      @HopscotchInteractive  5 месяцев назад +1

      They merge stocks, so you get $2.75 of CGGP per one MTTR, and then $2.75 “cash” but maybe you can put it all towards CSGP. Wish I had the answers. I think people with a high purchase price will have a loss on the stock, so I’m not sure if it’s best to sell and buy back in if you believe in CSGP or if you just want to take the loss. 700 is a lot of shares brother! 😅

    Would buying more shares under 5.50 or even 5 be a good strategy to average down until the deal goes through? How sound is that logic? Has there been ANY indication that the deal might not go through? Thank you kindly in advance for answers!

      I’m planning on doing a follow up video on this soon. Given that the CSGP stock is now trading at over 90 a share that may complicate any arbitrage or DCA scenario…but I’ll be talking to someone with more experience and see what they say!

    is there a chance that Goog or MSFT step in to up the bid for MTTR?

    • @HopscotchInteractive
      @HopscotchInteractive  5 месяцев назад

      I think highly unlikely, but we long thought that Google would be a good target. My other thought was Amazon because they use Amazon Rekognition for their machine learning /AI image search. And then Amazon could just scrub all the data of what you have in your house, but unfortunately tons of the models that Matterport has in its archives are not related to anything - probably 400,000 prior to GPS being integrated, and then after that a lot of data that is not connected to the realtime contents of the properties. but the architectural data is there - so there is a lot to think about, who that would be the most valuable for.

    I was optimistic of MTTR back in 2021 when it was a SPAC. Purchased a few stocks and then watched and experienced the tumble. I was hoping of a rebound but nothing. Now I only have enough for one CoStar share. Should I dump the MTTR stock now? Do you see the stock rising above $5.50 during the acquisition process?

    • @HopscotchInteractive
      @HopscotchInteractive  6 месяцев назад

      While I can't give advice on selling or buying, I think that I am going to hold what I own, I cannot imagine that it would go up in the process, but I have been wrong before. I'm going to wait and see how it plays out.

    Hello! Thanks for the video. I currently hold 5K shares at $6.16. Do you think it's best to DCA down to a $5.50 per share position?

    • @HopscotchInteractive
      @HopscotchInteractive  6 месяцев назад

      omg that's a lot of shares. I honestly don't know what you should do, but the $5.50 looks like a guaranteed return 50% cash and 50% as CoStar stock, I guess the question is if you want to have that 50% CSGP because half of it will be returned to you as cash. I would look closely at CSGP.
